Identifying Insect Pests of Glutinous Corn Plants (Zea mays ceratina Kulesh) with Various Organic Fertilizer Treatments
Glutinous corn (Zea mays ceratina Kulesh) is a variety of corn that holds significant economic value. However, the productivity of this plant is frequently compromised by insect pest infestations. This study aims to investigate the effects of organic fertilizer on the insect pest population and identify the types of insect pests affecting glutinous corn plants. The objectives of this research are to assess the abundance of insect pests in glutinous corn plants under three treatments: (1) no organic fertilizer, (2) liquid organic fertilizer, (3) solid organic fertilizer, and (4) a combination of liquid and solid organic fertilizers. The research methods include field observations, insect sampling, and laboratory analyses for pest identification based on morphological characteristics. This study employed a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments and six replications, resulting in 24 experimental plots. The results indicated that insect pests were highest in the treatment that did not utilize organic fertilizer. The types of insect pests found on glutinous corn plants belong to the orders Orthoptera, Coleoptera, Hemiptera, and Lepidoptera and were observed from the vegetative to the generative periods. Applying solid organic fertilizer from chicken manure proved the most effective treatment for enhancing corn production, yielding a production weight of 1.36 kg per plot, equivalent to 9.07 tons per hectare
Applying Fermented Rice Washing Water and Organic NPK to Increase Plant Growth and Production Caisim Mustard Greens (Brassica juncea L)
The demand for vegetables, particularly mustard greens, in Riau Province continues to rise alongside the overall increase in vegetable consumption. However, current production levels are insufficient to meet this demand, necessitating imports from neighboring regions such as West Sumatra and North Sumatra. Therefore, there is a pressing need to enhance local production. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of varying concentrations of fermented rice washing water and organic NPK on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). The research employed a Factorial Completely Randomized Design, which included two factors. The first factor was the concentration of fermented rice washing water, with four treatment levels: 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. The second factor was the application of organic NPK, also with four treatment levels: no organic NPK, 2.25 g/plant, 4.5 g/plant, and 6.75 g/plant. The parameters observed included the number of leaves, wet weight, economic weight, dry weight, net assimilation rate, and relative growth rate. The results indicated that the combination of fermented rice washing water and organic NPK had a significant effect on all observed parameters except for dry weight, with the optimal treatment being a concentration of 100% and 6.75 g of organic NPK per plant. The application of rice washing water significantly influenced all observed parameters, with the best treatment being fermented rice washing water at a concentration of 100%. Additionally, the effect of organic NPK was significant across all observed parameters, with the optimal treatment being 6.75 g per plant. The combination of fermented rice washing water and organic NPK effectively enhanced the growth and production of mustard greens, resulting in a production yield of 20.2 tons per hectare
Improvement of Jangguik Rice Genotype Characters (Oryza sativa L. ) Through Gamma-ray Mutation Induction in the Nursery Phase
Rice is a widely cultivated and consumed food commodity. In Indonesia, the increasing population growth has led to a rise in both rice consumption and demand. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of gamma-ray treatment on the properties of Jangguik rice, specifically regarding seed growth duration, seedling height, number of leaves, and seedling weight. The research was conducted in Koto Kari Village, located in the Kuantan Tengah District of Kuantan Senggigi Regency. The Deputy provided gamma irradiation services for Research and Innovation Infrastructure at the Yogyakarta Radiation Laboratory, situated on Jl. Babarsari, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The research was conducted over two months, from June to July 2024. This experiment employed an experimental method utilizing a Randomized Block Design with one factor. The study consisted of five treatments, each repeated three times, resulting in a total of 15 experimental plots. The treatments tested included doses of 0 Gy, 100 Gy, 200 Gy, 300 Gy, and 400 Gy. The study's results were analyzed statistically using an ANOVA table. If the calculated F-value exceeded the F-value from the table at the 5% significance level, further analysis was conducted using the Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) test at the same significance level. The results of the study indicate that gamma-ray irradiation treatment exerts a multifaceted impact on the growth of Jangguik rice seedlings. The following data were collected for analysis: the parameter of seed growth days (0 Gy treatment: 3.41 days after planting; 300 Gy treatment: 6.06 cm); the number of leaves (200 Gy: 5.46 pieces); and the weight of 100 Gy seedlings (0.146 grams)
Utilizing Eco-enzyme for Dormancy Breaking and Germination in Certified Rice Seed Testing
Rice is one of the primary food commodities as a staple food in Indonesia. Increasing rice production can be done by using certified seeds. Dormancy is one of the obstacles in the rice seed testing process. Eco-enzyme is expected to be used for breaking dormancy and promoting germination in certified rice seed testing. This study aims to determine the optimal concentration and soaking time of Eco-enzyme in breaking dormancy of Inpari 32 HDB rice seeds and to assess the potential of Eco-enzyme in replacing KNO3 0.2% in breaking dormancy of Inpari 32 HDB rice seeds. This research was conducted in the seed quality testing laboratory of UPTD Food Crop and Horticultural Seed Certification, North Sumatra Province, from September to October 2024. The results of the study showed that the use of eco-enzyme with concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% and a soaking period of 24 and 48 hours did not show a significant difference or a significantly increased effect on various germination parameters compared to the use of KNO3
Memomath: Educational Game Application for Elementary School Children in Special Inclusion Classes for Students with Slow Learner Diagnosis
Memomath is a game-based educational application designed to support the learning of children diagnosed as slow learners in elementary school inclusion classes. This application integrates mnemonic-based math, reading, and memory exercises to improve students' academic skills and learning motivation. This research was conducted at SDIT Madani Islam Terpadu Kota Payakumbuh, an inclusive school that provides special programs for students with slow learning needs. The waterfall method was applied in the development of this application, involving the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The test results showed that this application was effective in increasing engagement and understanding of concepts in students, especially at the age of 7-12 years. The data also revealed the relationship between age and duration of application use, providing important insights for design optimization. This study shows that a targeted gamification approach can make a significant contribution to the education of children with special needs, especially in helping them overcome learning challenges
Database Consistency Improvement In Job Offering System Using Normalization Method
The role of information systems in modern life today is very important, especially in a company to make strategic decisions or actions. Information systems must be free from data anomalies. Data anomalies can occur due to poor database structure design. This happens in job offering systems that still have data anomalies. This study uses the normalization method to verify the quality of the database in the job offering system. Normalization is a technique that focuses on grouping several attributes into an entity based on certain criteria to achieve normal form. Normalization aims to maintain data consistency and integrity. The job offering information system has two databases to carry out all its functions. The first database is for the needs of processing job offering information system data. The second database is for the needs of processing company organizational structure data. This study has identified both databases of the job offering system. There are 2 violations of the normalization provisions found. Violations occur in the employee and schedule_wwc tables which do not follow the 3NF normalization provisions. Improvements need to be made to the database to improve data consistency in the job offering system. This study has made improvements by modeling data according to the data needs of the job vacancy information system. The modeling produces a conceptual data model (CDM), a logical data model (LDM) and a physical data model (PDM). The modeling results have been reverified using the normalization method and are free from any violations
Analysis of MyPertamina Application Acceptance Using a Modified Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)
The rapid development of digital technology has driven PT Pertamina to launch the MyPertamina application as a solution to support the efficient and transparent distribution of subsidized fuel. However, the implementation of this application has encountered various technical complaints from users, including bugs, registration difficulties, and transaction issues, raising concerns about public acceptance of the technology. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the acceptance of the MyPertamina application using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which is modified by incorporating external variables such as perceived trust, perceived risk, perceived security, and service quality. A quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was employed to analyze data from 391 respondents. The findings indicate that service quality, perceived usefulness, and perceived trust significantly affect the attitude toward use, which subsequently influences the intention to use the application. In contrast, perceived ease of use, perceived risk, and perceived security were found to have no significant effect on the attitude toward use. These results provide strategic insights for the development and improvement of MyPertamina's digital services to enhance public acceptance
The Influence of Computer Use and Information Technology Literacy on Enhancing the Abilities of College Students at the Nahdlatul Ulama Institute of Technology and Science Lampung
This study aims to determine the effect of computer use and understanding of information technology on improving the abilities of students in the Information Technology Study Program at the Nahdlatul Ulama Lampung Institute of Technology and Science. The main problem identified is the still low utilization of practical computer technology in the learning process, even though universities have made large investments in providing facilities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a data collection method through a questionnaire distributed to 102 students from the 2021 to 2024 intake. The results showed that most students preferred practice-based learning methods to theory, and more than half of respondents used computers or laptops in their daily activities. In addition, most students already had basic knowledge of technology, information, hardware, software, and networks before entering college. The conclusion of this study is that educational background, experience using computers, and practice-based learning methods significantly affect the improvement of students' abilities in the field of information technology. These findings reinforce the importance of implementing practice-based learning methods and optimizing computer laboratory facilities in order to produce graduates who are ready to compete in the digital era
Web-Based E-Commerce System Design Using RAD Method: A Case Study of PT Muda Jaya Export
This study focused on the design and development of a web-based e-commerce information system for PT. Muda Jaya Export by employing the Rapid Application Development (RAD) approach. The company had been experiencing inefficiencies in handling transactions, inventory, and order management due to the reliance on manual tools such as Microsoft Excel and communication via WhatsApp. These outdated methods often led to data inconsistencies and delays in processing operations. To address these challenges, the new system was built to streamline and centralize various business functions, including sales transactions, pre-order handling, safety stock monitoring, and reorder point calculation. The platform featured capabilities such as online product ordering, real-time pre-order tracking, automated safety stock and reorder point computations, and secure payment integration through Midtrans. The system was implemented using modern web technologies, including React.js for the frontend, Express.js for the backend, and PostgreSQL for the database. To ensure functionality and user satisfaction, the system underwent testing through the Blackbox Testing technique as well as User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The testing outcomes demonstrated that the newly developed system significantly enhanced the accuracy and efficiency of the company’s sales and inventory operations. With this integrated solution, PT. Muda Jaya Export was better equipped to manage its business processes, reducing operational errors and delays. Furthermore, the system contributed to improved data reliability and provided valuable support for making informed decisions related to inventory levels and customer orders
Decision Support System For Submitting and Evaluating Web-Based Scholarships Using The Topsis Method at SMP Kusuma Raya
This research aims to develop a web-based decision support system for the scholarship application and assessment process. The system is designed to improve efficiency, transparency, and objectivity of selection. The TOPSIS method is used to evaluate potential recipients based on a number of relevant criteria. The system was developed using PHP, MySQL, Visual Studio Code, and XAMPP as the development platform. System testing shows that this application is able to provide accurate scholarship recipient recommendations, so that it can help decision makers in determining recipients more fairly and systematically. With this approach, it is expected that the scholarship selection process will become more structured and reduce the potential for subjectivity in assessment. The results of this research contribute to the application of information technology in supporting a better selection system in the academic environment and scholarship granting institutions
