CRIS systems are now starting to be added to the OpenAIRE data sources and research graph by means of their registration in the euroCRIS Directory of Research Information Systems (DRIS). The workflow for CRIS registration, harvesting and aggregation is shown together with the first CRIS software solutions offering out-of-the-box compliance with the OpenAIRE Guidelines for CRIS Managers
An update on the Amsterdam five collaboration
No full text12 slides.-- Presentation delivered within Session 2 "Recent research information developments in the Netherlands (II)"The 'Amsterdam five' CRIS is a collaborative initiative between the University of Amsterdam (UvA), its Academic Medical Center (AMC), the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU) and the VU medical center (VUmc) launched in 2014 to provide a common aggregation portal in the best example so far for a "city CRIS". These five Amsterdam research institutions, grouped under the Amsterdam Consortium (AMSCO), share the same CRIS software solution, namely Pure, which makes the interoperability and aggregation workflows much more straightforward than if the systems were different across institutions. As a follow-up for a previous session at the Pure International Conference 2017, the presentation provides an update on how this 'Amsterdam five' initiative is faring. It's recent progress includes aspects like the merger of the research portals for two of the five institutions involved in the collaboration
FAIR-IMPACT in a nutshell
No full text23 slides.-- Presentation delivered within Session 3 "EOSC-related projects"FAIR-IMPACT is a DANS-led EU-funded project to develop a web of FAIR data and services, including publications and software. The results of a survey of the European Research Data Landscape are presented showing moderate awareness of FAIR data and associated practices among European researchers. FAIR-IMPACT partially builds on the previous FAIRsFAIR project (2019-2022) to expand FAIR solutions across Europe. Six of the 28 FAIR-IMPACT project partners are also members of the FAIRCORE4EOSC project consortium, which ensures a close collaboration between both projects, among other mechanisms via a technical bridging team. The presentation explains the project activities aimed at meeting the overall FAIR-IMPACT project to realise a FAIR EOSC by supporting the implementation of FAIR-enabling practices across scientific communities and research outputs at a European, national and institutional levels

New avenues for improving research management services through regional research information systems
No full text77 slides.-- Guest euroCRIS presentation at the EARMA Conference 2022 in OsloOver the past decades, the administrative burden on the research community has vastly expanded. In order to support research managers in their daily operation, research information systems have been built that are aimed at supporting research management processes and the efficient re-use of information for multiple purposes. Through the use of CERIF, the Common European Research Information Format, developed and maintained by euroCRIS, multiple research information systems can be connected and, importantly, can exchange research information in an interoperable manner.In Flanders, such a regional information management system has been established, and a portal termed FRIS (researchportal.be) has been built on top of this. This seminar focuses on the design and architecture of the FRIS systems and details the vast range of opportunities that research managers can obtain through the use of regional information systems. Practical examples will be given by research managers using the FRIS portal in the field of research reporting, analytics, and funding opportunities.Data on some CERIF entities – such as funded projects, for instance by the EU, or patents – is most fruitfully analysed at a regional or a national level, hence the value of these portals. In fact, FRIS is just an example of an ever-growing number of national and regional research information systems that countries across Europe are using to gather business intelligence on their research activity. These national and regional CRISs are usually listed in the euroCRIS Directory of Research Information Systems or DRIS. As part of its support for the research information management community worldwide, euroCRIS promotes communication and knowledge exchange across projects for creating national or regional portals and will do so again in its forthcoming CRIS2022 conference
