Flanders Research Information Space: an indispensable regional CRIS system to efficiently monitor progress in open science
No full textPoster presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program9 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the poster session on May 13thIn 2019, the Flemish government launched an ambitious Open Science policy outlining five key perfomance indicators to measure progress towards open science. It was decided to monitor these KPIs via Flanders Research Information Space (FRIS), the research portal of the Flemish government (www.researchportal.be).The FRIS portal operates with a knowledge model in which data objects related to research output (researchers, projects, publications etc.) are interlinked and described by metadata standards. These semantically defined metadata standards are developed and implemented in mutual agreement. The research performing and funding institutions deliver metadata on research information (persons, organizations, projects, publications, etc.) in real-time directly to FRIS via CERIF-XML (Common European Research Information Format) via their institutional repositories. This allows to link and enrich information about research data with other research outputs. This is unique in Europe and makes FRIS eminently suitable to use reliable metrics in order to monitor the Open Science indicators

No full text11 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the Hatun Tinkuy Perú 2022 event in Lima, https://hatuntinkuy.concytec.gob.pe/[EN] The presentation summarises the research evaluation workflows around the Research Excellence Framework (REF), the national-level research assessment exercise in the UK, with an emphasis on its associated Open Access policy. The REF Open Access mandate has actually driven the rates of Open Access availability for research outputs produced at UK universities covered by the REF to the highest percentages worldwide as shown on the results for the CWTS Leiden Open Access ranking for 2022. As recommended by the PASTEUR4OA H2020 project back in 2016, it is argued that such a mandatory policy is exactly what's required for the Green route to Open Access to succeed.[ES] La presentación ofrece un resumen de las características del Research Excellence Framework (REF), el ejercicio de evaluación de la actividad científica de ámbito nacional en el Reino Unido. Se hace énfasis en la política de acceso abierto asociada al REF, cuyo resultado desde que comenzó a aplicarse en abril de 2016 ha sido colocar a las universidades británicas en lo alto de la tabla por porcentaje de producción científica en acceso abierto que publica el ranking de acceso abierto del CWTS Leiden. In order to achieve this goal a joint task force was established. The process to update a previous, outdated attempt at mapping the CERIF data model to the VIVO ontology issued in 2013 started by the end of 2021. This presentation provides an update on the ongoing work and the current state of affairs in this area

This open-source-based portal provides robust and open insights and analytics of Danish research on a national level. The portal is fed from four parallel publication databases combining global commercial sources with local CRIS sources in order to get a broader and more complete view of Danish research. Critical processes related to data processing are described such as data alignment and enrichment, standardisation, persistent identification and deduplication. Work is currently focused on research publications but future plans include other research outputs and entities such as patents, research datasets, funders and grants

The goal of a funder-led PID strategy is to improve data quality for funders and the broader community and increase funders’ capacity to monitor the outcomes of funded projects. The NWO PID strategy relies on three main PIDs: ORCID for researcher identification, CrossRef Grant IDs for funded grants and ROR for identifying research organisations. The need for funders to engage with other stakeholders at a national level and internationally with other funders is also highlighted

To ensure an effective fulfillment of its open science policies, FCT is implementing a new monitoring and compliance tool, that will enforce the compliance with Plan-S as well as the new FCT’s open access (OA) policy. This paper details FCT’s approach to implement this tool and discusses the challenges of integrating information that is spread across multiple systems. The new tool will be built on top of infrastructures and services developed by FCT over the last years under the umbrella of the Portuguese Current Research Information System (PTCRIS) program

A special emphasis will be given to the adaption and extension of CERIF model. The CRIS adoption in Poland, after more than 10 years of constant development, is currently at a very mature level. It includes wide adoption of institutional CRISs, intensive cooperation between universities on the data standardization, national CRIS interoperable with institutional CRISs and the emerging domain CRIS platforms, such as Polish Platform of Medical Research. This joint effort supported by international partners, such as EuroCris allows us to face challenges coming from both local legislation changes and global open science trends
