La primera presentación aborda el panorama y los flujos de trabajo asociados a los sistemas de gestión de la información científica o CRIS en el Perú y en la región, haciendo énfasis en los roles más frecuentemente jugados por las bibliotecas universitarias en la operación de estos sistemas. La segunda parte de la conferencia describe cómo la ciencia abierta (y en especial el acceso abierto) pueden implantarse de manera óptima a través del sistema CRIS institucional SII-San Marcos de la UNMSM.[EN] Two-part presentation delivered at a guest 2-hr workshop for the students of the School in Library Sciences at the University of San Marcos (UNMSM) in Lima (Peru). The first presentation addresses the CRIS landscape & research information management workflows in Peru and the wider Latin American region, together with the role(s) most frequently played by university libraries in the operation of these research information systems. The PeruCRIS national CRIS has now been released at https://www.perucris.pe/home and up-to-date content is currently being ingested into the national portal covering interlinked CERIF entities such as researchers, organisations, projects, publications and equipment. The presentation summarises the work done by the PeruCRIS project in areas like (among others) standardisation, persistent identifiers and pilot interoperability initiatives for research information exchange with various institutional CRIS systems in the country based on different software solutions such as DSpace-CRIS and Pure. A roadmap is finally shared showing the next steps for the project to undertake

    17 slides.-- Recorded presentation delivered as opening talk for the SMM2022Nijmegen Day IIThe presentation introduces the New Zealand Research Information System (NZRIS) developed by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) of the New Zealand Government to capture and accurate snapshot of the Research, Science and Innovation (RSI) ecosystem in the country. NZRIS is built with an emphasis on research funding workflows to provide transparency around the distribution and use of public funds and an oversight of the research activity and its key actors. The NZRIS data providers are summarised together with an insight into the system architecture. Emphasis is made on indigenous (Māori) data considerations. Next steps forward are finally outlined, including plans for releasing the system in the Spring of 2023

Many institutions are enthusiastic about the innovative data analysis methods of our time for research and customer loyalty. From a data protection point of view, however, the processing of large amounts of data is one of the greatest conceivable challenges. The legal aspects depend on the legislation of the country in which the CRIS system is operated, the level at which CRIS is operated and the type of data collected. This case study will map legal aspects of research data processing and protection in Slovakia and Germany

As such, the project strongly reflects change management as a key theme throughout various aspects, such as the organisation and decision-making processes of a multidisciplinary consortium and the systems architecture. The following abstract provides an overview of the project along with key insights and findings that render RIS Synergy’s bottom-up approach an effective method to manage system interoperability and information exchange between different research institutions and funders
