Initiatives for making VIVO platform more interoperable
22 slides.-- Presented by Dragan Ivanović within Session 6 "Contributions from euroCRIS members"A number of ongoing initiatives are presented to make VIVO more interoperable with other platforms and standards. These include the mapping between CERIF and the VIVO ontology, the integration of the VIVO platform and a DSpace-based repository and building a REST endpoint for getting data from VIVO and ingesting data into it
An update on the Nordic List, the Helsinki Initiative and the CoARA framework for research evaluation
23 slides.-- Presentation delivered within Session 6 "Contributions from euroCRIS members"The presentation provides an update on four different topics: the national lists of publication channels supporting performance-based research funding systems in the Nordic countries (aka the Nordic List), the Helsinki initiative on multilingualism in scholarly communication, the reform of research assessment (CoARA) and the ways CRIS systems may support this reform of research assessment through the data they collect
CERIF-VIVO mapping v1.0
Extended abstract presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program23 slides.-- Presentation delivered within session "CERIF developments"In July 2021 a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between VIVO and euroCRIS. The euroCRIS and VIVO representatives recognized a shared goal and the need for joint action in integration of research domain information across the world. One specific action started after the signing of the MoU is updating the mapping between the CERIF data model and the VIVO Ontology from 2013. The mapping from 2013 was outdated, because both formats have evolved in the meantime
Publishing faculty's external relationships in VIVO, the Library-maintained researcher profile system
Abstract to be presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program11 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the VIVO Track at CRIS2022At Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM), all faculty members and staff are required to complete a Conflicts of Interest Survey at least once annually. These disclosures include the following types of external relationships: Advisory/Scientific Board Member, Consultant, Leadership Roles, Ownership, Professional Services, Proprietary Interest, and Speaker/Lecturer. Until recently, these disclosures of external relationships were not easily accessible by the general public. WCM began in January 2022 to publish all external relationships on its clinical (POPS) and researcher (VIVO) profile systems. VIVO is managed by the Samuel J. Wood Library. This change was made by WCM as part of a larger strategy of improving the transparency of its researchers' conduct. This is especially relevant at a time when the integrity of research is under greater scrutiny in society at large
CRIS design & implementation: best practice in an academic use case
Extended abstract presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program27 slides.-- Presentation delivered within session "CRIS case studies, community management and CRIS manager competencies"The implementation of a Research Information Management System (aka CRIS/RIMS) at any University is challenging from the administrative, organisational, technical points of view, not to mention the economics. There are several solutions on the market that claim to address all the University needs with different points of strength and weakness that are hard to understand without a deep dive into the solution. Costs of some of these solutions can be hidden and unfortunately commercial strategies can be used to lock the adopting university in a path that only at its end will show the real costs
PeruCRIS: Scope and progress in the implementation of the first release of the Peruvian CRIS platform
16 slides.-- Presentation delivered remotely within the session "The evolving CRIS landscape"Previous presentations of the PerúCRIS project for developing a national CRIS in Peru held at various euroCRIS events have shown the scope and the aims of this initiative based on an open source solution. Now, as this national platform approaches its release in production, a summary is provided of the PerúCRIS project achievements, its various ongoing worklines and its pending steps and future plans. The expectation is for the first modules of the platform to be released in July 2022 at https://perucris.pe. Some emphasis is made on the system interoperability pilots between the national platform and a number of institutional CRIS in Peru based on both DSpace-CRIS and Pure

Implementing FAIR Workflows along the research lifecycle
Extended abstract to be presented at the CRIS2022 conference in Dubrovnik.-- Event programme available at https://cris2022.srce.hr/#section-program13 slides.-- Presentation delivered within the session "Open Science implementation [I]"The world of research and academic publishing is complex and challenging. There is a need for collective efforts to enhance the discoverability and usage of research out-puts. DataCite is the project organization that leads the “Implementing FAIR Workflows” project, funded by the Templeton World Charity Foundation. Prompted to address the complexities of scholarly information, DataCite, along with the project partners, aims to develop an exemplar FAIR and Open Research workflow based on the reality of the research lifecycle. The aim is to implement such a workflow through the integration of existing and well-accepted global open infrastructure, particularly the different identifier systems, thus enabling research evaluation and accelerated output reuse. ChronosHub is one of the project partners and acts as an intermediary to facilitate the information flow between the different stakeholders in the research ecosystem. This session will invite a discussion of how all of us in the research ecosystem can contribute with collaborative actions to build bridges and remove enormous amounts of administrative work with data collection, structuring, and quality assurance
