    Conceptual Understanding and Reasoning of Students with Dyscalculia: A Literature Review

    Dyscalculia is a specific learning condition that affects one’s understanding and manipulation of numerical concepts. Conceptual understanding is one of the components of mathematics proficiency that can be developed through reasoning skills. However, neither the conceptual understanding nor the reasoning abilities of students with dyscalculia have been thoroughly described. The objective of this systematic review of the relevant scientific literature is to identify and analyse existing evidence regarding the conceptual understanding and reasoning skills of students with dyscalculia by using the following procedures: (1) developing a research question; (2) selection criteria; (3) developing the search strategy; (4) study selection process; (5) appraising the quality of studies; and (6) synthesis result. Twenty articles were selected and analysed in total. It was discovered that students with dyscalculia lacked conceptual understanding and reasoning skills, which could present them with a variety of difficulties, such as processing mathematical facts and further developing their mathematical skills

    Analisis Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Siswa SMP Ditinjau dari Self Efficacy pada Model Pembelajaran SQ4R dengan Project Assessment

    The purpose of conducting this research is to; 1) Describe students' mathematical communication skills in terms of self-efficacy at a high level with SQ4R learning with project assessment; 2) Describe students' mathematical communication abilities seen from self-efficacy at a moderate level with SQ4R learning with project assessment; 3) Describe students' mathematical communication abilities seen from self-efficacy at a low level with SQ4R learning with project assessment. This research is a qualitative research, and uses a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects in this study were class VIII E students of SMP Negeri 1 Banguntapan. Data collection techniques in this study used triangulation or a combination technique, namely through tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The results showed that 1) Students with a high level of self-efficacy were able to master the three indicators of mathematical communication skills, namely indicators 1, 2 and 3 on questions 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5; 2) students who have moderate self-efficacy are able to master two indicators of mathematical communication skills, namely indicators 1 and 3 in question numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, 3) students with low self-efficacy are able to master two indicators, namely indicators 2 and 3 in questions 4 and

    This study was conducted with the aim of determining the comparison of achievement and improvement in the problem-solving ability of students who learn through realistic mathematics education and a conventional approach. The study used quantitative methods in the form of a quasi-experiment. The design of this study used a pretest-posttest control group design. The participants in this study were students in grade VIII from one of the junior high schools in the Belu district. The sample in this study consisted of 22 students from class VIIIA as the experimental group, and 22 students from class VIIIB as the control group. The research instruments used were a problem-solving ability test and observation sheets. The results showed that the achievement and improvement in the mathematics problem-solving ability of students who learned through the realistic mathematics education approach were better than those of students who learned with a conventional approach. Learning with a realistic mathematics education approach can facilitate the problem-solving skills of junior high school students. It is recommended that future researchers apply the realistic mathematics education approach to other mathematical abilities

    The Response of Reciprocal Teaching as the Solution for an English Readers

    To find out whether or not the students are interested in joining the reading class through Reciprocal reading. This research employed Quasi Experimental design. The sample consisted of 68 students of class X 1 and II at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar. The data were collected through questionnaire for students’ interest.  Data on the students’ interest were analyzed using Likert scale. The results of the research is the use of Reciprocal reading increased the students’ interest in joining the reading class.  It can be concluded that the use of Reciprocal reading is effective to be implemented in improving the students’ reading skills and the students have high interest and active toward teaching reading through Reciprocal reading

    Penelitian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan menulis pada anak didik kelas I MIN 7 Kota Medan dengan penggunaan model Scramble dengan bantuan media gambar dalam mempermudah penyusunan kalimat yang tepat terkait keterampilan menulis pada anak didik, dalam mengatasi permasalahan pembelajaran menulis di kelas I. Penelitian dilakukan melalui tahapan merencanakan, menindaklanjuti, mengobservasi, dan merefleksi dalam PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas). PTK ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus. Subjek penelitian merupakan siswa kelas I MIN 7 Kota Medan Tahun Pelajaran 2022/2023 yang berjumlah 30 siswa. Hasil penelitian siklus I dari 30 anak didik didapat hasil dataan yang tuntas sebanyak 16 anak didik berkisar 53% dinyatakan tuntas dan 14 anak berkisar 47% dinyatakan tidak tuntas. Pada siklus yang ke II dari 30 anak didik ada 29 anak berkisar 97% tuntas 1 anak didik berkisar 3% tidak tuntas.     Identifying factors affecting students’ success is important. This is a study on creativity of biology students to solve their learning problem. The participants are biology students at Universitas Terbuka (UT), the only single mode distance learning university in Indonesia.  conducting online tutorial in introductory biology. Descriptive and bivariate correlation statistics data are collected, including one dependent variable about improvement of problem-solving skill and six independent variables. The six independent variables are problem identification, information searching, idea generation, analogy, integrating different concepts, and idea testing. Demographic data are age, gender, and length of daily online activities. There are 73 students returned the survey with 23.4% response rate. Most students (more than 60%) agree to some extent in all the variables. There are different levels of agreement about the use of online tutorial regarding gender, age and length of daily online activities. There are only two out of six independent variables that have significant correlation (0.05 significance level, two-tailed) with improvement of problem-solving skill, which are analogy and idea testing.     Profil Ekosistem Terumbu Karang di Intertidal Pantai Balekambang, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur

    Concerns and vulnerabilities from the impact of rapid infrastructure growth in the Balekambang Beach area, Malang Regency can trigger damage to the existing coral reef ecosystem, especially in the intertidal zone. This is possible because it is not followed by awareness and understanding wisely by the surrounding community towards environmental conservation. The study aimed to determine the status of coral reefs, identify living corals, and measure the value of coral species diversity in the intertidal zone of Balekambang Beach, Malang Regency, East Java. The research used survey method with the help of Underwater Photo Transect (UPT) tool, the data was processed with Coral Point Count with Excel Extension (CPCe) software. The results showed that the percentage of coral cover varied in the range of 9.13%-21.53%, so it was included in the damaged category with poor sub-category. Identification of coral species at station 1 (BLCK01) was Favites spp., Gonioastrea spp., and Galaxea sp., at station 2 (BLCK02) found Favites spp., Gonioastrea spp., Platygyra sp.. Pocillopora spesicosa, and Porites sp. At station 3 (BLCK03), coral species Favites spp., Gonioastrea spp., Platygyra sp., Acropora spp., Pocillopra spesicosa, and Porites sp. The value of coral species diversity on this beach is included in the low category, namely 1.71-1.97.Kekhawatiran dan kerentanan dari dampak pesatnya pertumbuhan infrastruktur di kawasan Pantai Balekambang, Kabupaten Malang dapat memicu terjadinya kerusakan ekosistem terumbu karang yang ada terutama pada zona intertidal. Hal ini dimungkinkan karena tidak diikuti oleh kesadaran dan pemahaman secara arif dan bijaksana oleh masyarakat di sekitarnya terhadap pelestarian lingkungan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan status terumbu karang, mengidentifikasi karang yang hidup, dan mengukur nilai keanekaragaman spesies karang di zona intertidal Pantai Balekambang, Kabupaten Malang, Jawa Timur. Penelitian menggunakan metode survei dengan bantuan alat Underwater Photo Transect (UPT), data diolah dengan perangkat lunak Coral Point Count with Excel Extension (CPCe). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prosentase penutupan karang bervariasi yaitu pada kisaran 9,13%-21,53%, sehingga termasuk dalam kategori rusak dengan sub-kategori buruk. Identifikasi spesies karang di stasiun 1 (BLCK01) adalah Favites spp., Gonioastrea spp., dan Galaxea sp., di stasiun 2 (BLCK02) ditemukan Favites spp., Gonioastrea spp., Platygyra sp.. Pocillopora spesicosa, dan Porites sp. Pada stasiun 3 (BLCK03) telah diidentifikasi spesies karang Favites spp., Gonioastrea spp., Platygyra sp., Acropora spp., Pocillopra spesicosa, dan Porites sp.     KEMAMPUAN PENYERAPAN TIMBAL (PB) PADA BEBERAPA KULTIVAR TANAMAN PURING (CODIAEUM VARIEGATUM)

    This study aims to determine the content of heavy metal lead (Pb) accumulated in shoots, leaves, and stems croton plant, as well as the effectiveness of 18 cultivars of the croton plant in accumulating Pb in the air of Housing Batan Indah, Serpong, South Tangerang. Sampling is purposive sampling point at 2 locations/stations on the street/block F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, and N (9 street/block). Each block consists of the first point, namely the location of the dense traffic (approximately 50 m from the highway) and the second point, namely the quiet location of traffic (approximately 250 m from the highway). There are 18 samples, each of which consists of shoots, leaves, and stems of plants croton. Pb concentrate is analyzed by X-Ray Fluorescence X-MET 510 methods. The results showed that croton plant Pb uptake in dense traffic locations higher (shoots: 18.78 µg/g; leaf: 26.89 µg/g, and rods: 102.15 µg/g) compared with the quiet location of traffic (shoots: 13.93 µg/g; leaves: 21.07 µg/g, and rods: 68.43 µg/g). Number of croton cultivars found is 13 cultivars. The best of Pb absorber is stems (220.67 µg/g), from Pictum Spot cultivar that have small leaves. The best Pb absorber to shoots (26 µg/g) and leaves (44.33 µg/g) is from Malang apple cultivar. Both cultivars are located in dense traffic location Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) yang terakumulasi pada pucuk, daun, dan batang tanaman puring, dan kemampuan 18 kultivar tanaman jalan puring dalam mengakumulasi Pb dari udara di lingkungan Perumahan Batan Indah, Kecamatan Serpong, Tangerang Selatan. Pengambilan sampel bersifat purposive sampling pada 2 titik lokasi pada jalan F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, dan N (9 jalan). Masing-masing terdiri atas titik pertama, yaitu lokasi yang padat lalu lintas (sekitar 50 m dari jalan raya) dan titik ke-dua, yaitu lokasi yang relatif sepi lalu lintas (sekitar 250 m dari jalan raya). Sehingga terdapat 18 sampel yang masing-masing terdiri atas pucuk, daun, dan batang tanaman puring. Penetapan kadar Pb dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode spektrometri pendar Sinar-X, dan dilanjutkan penentuan kandungan Pb dengan teknik kurva kalibrasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penyerapan Pb tanaman puring pada lokasi padat lalu lintas lebih tinggi (pucuk: 18.78 µg/gr; daun: 26.89 µg/gr; dan batang: 102.15 µg/gr) dibandingkan dengan lokasi yang sepi lalu lintas (pucuk: 13.93 µg/gr; daun: 21.07 µg/gr; dan batang: 68.43 µg/gr). Jumlah kultivar puring yang ditemukan berdasarkan identifikasi adalah13 kultivar. Bagian tanaman penyerap Pb paling baik adalah batang (220.67µg/gr), yaitu dari kultivar Pictum Spot yang berada di lokasi yang padat lalu lintas. Penyerap Pb yang terbaik pada pucuk (26 µg/gr) dan daun (44.33µg/gr) adalah dari kultivar Apel Malang

    Paradigma Harga Bawang Merah di Indonesia dan Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhinya

    Bawang merah merupakan komoditas hortikultura yang walaupun bersifat minor namun diperlukan sebagai pengaya rasa kuliner di Indonesia. Oleh karenanya fluktuasi dan dinamika harga bawang merah ikut menyumbangkan nilai dalam laju inflasi di NKRI, sehingga komoditas ini dimasukkan ke dalam kelompok bahan pangan strategis nasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh dalam dinamika harga bawang merah di Indonesia serta menganalisa penyebab dan memberikan alternatif solusi untuk menstabilkan harga bawang merah tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan kajian pustaka sistematik, yang memanfaatkan data sekunder yang tersedia pada situs-situs informasi/data pemerintahan serta beberapa artikel pendukung lainnya. Analisa untuk komponen kualitatif dan kuantitatif dilakukan secara deskriptif eksplanatori; sedangkan untuk melakukan analisa pembeda dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode statistik regresi, anova dengan software Excel dan R. Dari kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor yang amat berpengaruh sangat nyata/signifikan terhadap harga bawang merah adalah margin perdagangan dan pengangkutan, sedangkan faktor produksi nyaris tidak berpengaruh secara regional. Faktor konsumsi dan panjangnya rantai pasok berpengaruh secara nyata pada wilayah tertentu. Perluasan area tanam terutama di wilayah Indonesia bagian utara dapat digunakan sebagai sarana komplemen dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan bawang merah secara berlanjut.
