How Does the Middle East Geopolitical Conflict Impact Indonesia’s Trade Balance?

    No full text
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine in the Middle East has escalated in October 2023 and continues, claiming thousands of lives and damaging infrastructure. This tension not only threatens regional stability but can also trigger global economic turmoil. This study analyzes the impact of the Middle East geopolitical conflict on Indonesia's trade balance using descriptive and comparative quantitative methods with secondary data. The results show that the geopolitical conflict in the Middle East has an impact on Indonesia's trade balance, especially from the decline in the surplus value and total trade during the conflict period. The conflict can cause an increase in energy commodity prices, hampered logistics movements, depreciation of the exchange rate, and global economic turmoil. Therefore, it is necessary for Indonesia to minimize the negative impact of the Middle East geopolitical conflict on Indonesia's trade balance, such as diversifying export and import markets, increasing supply chain resilience, strengthening economic diplomacy, and increasing economic competitiveness

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the effect of exchange rates, consumer credit interest rates , and savings on consumer credit in Indonesia for the period 2022-2024 . Using a quantitative approach with descriptive and analytical methods and correlational design to test the relationship between independent variables and dependent variables. The data analyzed are secondary data taken from the monthly reports of Bank Indonesia and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for the period January 2022 to August 2024. The analysis process includes testing classical assumptions, such as normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation tests, as well as multiple linear regression analysis using E-Views 13 software. The results of the study indicate that all independent variables, namely consumer credit interest rates, exchange rates, and savings, have a significant effect on consumer credit with partial (t) and simultaneous (F) test probabilities below 0.05. The resulting regression model has an Rsquared value of 0.9598, indicating that the independent variables are able to explain 95.98 % of the variation in consumer credit. Specifically, the increase in savings value and consumer credit interest rates made a positive contribution to consumer credit growth, and exchange rate fluctuations also had a significant impact on consumer credit

    No full text
This study explores the numerical solutions of an influenza epidemiological model, specifically the SEIR (Susceptible, Exposed, Infected, and Recovered) type, which is represented by a system of nonlinear differential equations. Three numerical methods were applied to solve this model: the Euler method, Heun’s method, and the fourth-order Runge-Kutta (RK4) method. The solutions obtained from these numerical methods were compared to the reference solution from ODE45, as the exact solution of the SEIR model remains unknown. Numerical simulations revealed that using either a very large step size ( ) or a very small step size      led to significant numerical errors. Among the five different step sizes tested,  provided the most accurate results. Based on the average computational time across different step sizes, the Euler method was the fastest, while RK4 was the slowest. However, the Euler method exhibited the largest error margin, whereas Heun’s and RK4 methods produced comparable errors. Although Heun’s method had the same error margin as RK4, it required less computational time, making it the most efficient choice for this case

    No full text
The refusal of patients in emergency conditions by hospitals that they do not meet the emergency criteria as stipulated by BPJS Kesehatan regulations raises critical legal and medical ethical issues. This study aims to analyze the juridical aspects and professional medical ethics related to such practices by examining the Indonesian Medical Code of Ethics as well as the legal provisions in Law Number 17 of 2023 on Health and Law Number 24 of 2011 on the Social Security Administering Body (BPJS Kesehatan). The research method used is a normative juridical approach through literature study. The findings indicate that, from a legal standpoint, hospitals and medical personnel are obligated to provide medical services to all patients in emergency situations without delay regardless their administrative status. Refusal to provide such services may be classified as a legal violation and may be subject to criminal, civil, and administrative sanctions. From the perspective of medical ethics, such actions are contrary to the principles of beneficence and non-maleficence and violate the Medical Code of Ethics. Therefore, BPJS administrative regulations must be aligned with legal and ethical principles in handling emergency cases to ensure the protection of patients’ rights and the continuity of equitable and professional health services. The study concludes that the refusal of emergency patients by hospitals due to unmet BPJS Health emergency criteria contradicts Indonesia’s positive law and the fundamental principles of medical ethics

Home-based food businesses are one form of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) that play a strategic role in supporting family economic resilience. However, in practice, this type of business actor often faces challenges in financial management, especially related to calculating the cost of production (HPP), recording transactions, and selecting packaging that is not only visually attractive but also supports the principles of environmental sustainability. This Community Service (PKM) activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the entrepreneurial literacy of residents, especially in terms of business management and the use of environmentally friendly packaging. The methods used include field observation, interactive counseling, group discussions, and evaluations based on participant feedback. The results of the activity program show that most business actors have not implemented financial records and do not have a distinctive brand identity or product packaging. After the counseling, there was an increase in understanding regarding the importance of separating business and household resources, recording business costs in a structured manner, and using packaging that supports the zero waste movement. This activity program makes a positive contribution to building awareness of more economically and ecologically responsible entrepreneurs among home-based food MSME actors
