Effect of different intercrops on yield, quality and shelf-life in mango cv. Himsagar(Mangifera indica L)
Abstract Field experiments were conducted during the period 2010-2012 to investigate the suitability and profitably with different intercrops of cowpea, frenchbean, arhar, soyabean, lentil, blackgram and chickpea in mango orchard (cv. Himsagar) was conducted at Central Research Farm, Gayeshpur, B.C.K.V., Nadia, West Bengal. The age of the plant is 7 years old with a spacing of 10x10m which provide the utilization of land space between the plants as an intercrop. Pooled data reveals that the maximum number of fruits 192.41 / tree and yield 46.09 kg / tree were found in Mango + Cowpea whereas maximum fruit weight (254.16 g) in Mango + Lentil. Most of the physical parameters such as fruit length and breadth maximum were recorded (8.20 cm and 7.21 cm respectively) in Mango + Cowpea. But, in case of peel weight (35.67 g) was highest in Mango + Soyabean whereas the higher stone weight (35.79 g) was in sole crop (Mango) only. Again, pulp weight and pulp: stone ratio (193.53 g and 5.80) were observed in Mango + Frenchbean respectively. The quality parameters such as TSS, reducing sugar, vitamin c, acidity and shelf-life showed non-significant variation among the different treatments
Optical Seam Following for Automated Robot Sewing
Abstract-Nowadays, robust and light-weight parts used in the automobile and aeronautics industry are made of carbon fibres. To increase the mechanical toughness of the parts the carbon fibres are stitched in the preforming process using a sewing robot. However, current systems miss high flexibility and rely on manual programming of each part. The main target of this work is to develop an automatic system that autonomously sets the structure strengthening seams. Therefore, a rapid and flexible following of the carbon textile edges is required. Due to the black and reflective carbon fibres a laser-stripe sensor is necessary and the processing of the range data is a challenging task. The paper proposes a real time approach where different edge detection methodologies are combined in a voting scheme to increase the edge tracking robustness. The experimental results demonstrate the feasibility of a fully automated, sensorguided robotic sewing process. The seam can be located to within 0.65mm at a detection rate of 99.3% for individual scans
Study of pattern of acute myocardial infarction in tertiary care hospital of Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Abstract Background: Myocardial infarction is one of the most common causes of death in adult and elderly people. Aim and objectives: To study age and sex wise incidence, various risk factors, involvement of anatomical site and mortality in cases of acute myocardial infarcti Material and Methods: The present study included admitted in the intensive coronary care unit of tertiary care hospital classical ECG changes of hyperpresence of pathological q waves accompanied by elevation of ST segment and symmetrical inversion of T waves with rise in cardiac enzyme levels were included. Results: Maximum MI cases occurred in sixth decade and more comm most common risk factor and anterior wall MI was most common. Maximum mortality was found in MI involving anterior wall, inferior wall and right ventricle all together. Conclusion: Study of pattern of myocardial infarction, age anatomical site and mortality in cases of myocardial infarction is very useful for the treatment and prevention purposes
The Ethics of the Ethics of Belief
Abstract For all of the progress in informatics, there remains a related, fundamental, and age-old topic: the ethics of belief. Belief often has moral consequences, especially if one acts on that belief. Whether we can choose what to believe is a matter of long standing controversy. Together these observations offer a chance to explore the ethics of belief and its implications for informatics. This paper suggests a way to engage in this exploration, starting with a pair of seminal essays: W. K. Clifford's -The ethics of belief‖ and William James's -The will to believe.‖ Three areas of philosophy inform a complete exploration of this sort: logic, epistemology, and ethics. This paper develops the ethics component, which relies primarily on virtue theory

M.: Adversarial patrolling games
Abstract Defender-Attacker Stackelberg games are the foundations of tools deployed for computing optimal patrolling strategies in adversarial domains such as the United states Federal Air Marshals Service and the United States Coast Guard, among others. In Stackelberg game models of these systems the attacker knows only the probability that each target is covered by the defender, but is oblivious to the detailed timing of the coverage schedule. In many real-world situations, however, the attacker can observe the current location of the defender and can exploit this knowledge to reason about the defender's future moves. We study Stackelberg security games in which the defender sequentially moves between targets, with moves constrained by an exogenously specified graph, while the attacker can observe the defender's current location and his (stochastic) policy concerning future moves. We offer five contributions: (1) We model this adversarial patrolling game (APG) as a stochastic game with special structure and present several alternative formulations that leverage the general nonlinear programming (NLP) approach for computing equilibria in zero-sum stochastic games. We show that our formulations yield significantly better solutions than previous approaches. (2) We extend the NLP formulation for APG allow for attacks that may take multiple time steps to unfold. (3) We provide an approximate MILP formulation that uses discrete defender move probabilities
PREDICTING SINGLE-TEMPERATURE FIT TO MULTI-COMPONENT THERMAL PLASMA SPECTRA
ABSTRACT Observed X-ray spectra of hot gas in clusters, groups, and individual galaxies are commonly fit with a singletemperature thermal plasma model even though the beam may contain emission from components with different temperatures. Recently, Mazzotta et al. pointed out that thus derived T spec can be significantly different from commonly used definitions of average temperature, such as emission-or emission measure-weighted T , and found an analytic expression for predicting T spec for a mixture of plasma spectra with relatively hot temperatures (T 3 keV). In this Paper, we propose an algorithm which can accurately predict T spec in a much wider range of temperatures (T 0.5 keV), and for essentially arbitrary abundance of heavy elements. This algorithm can be applied in the deprojection analysis of objects with the temperature and metallicity gradients, for correction of the PSF effects, for consistent comparison of numerical simulations of galaxy clusters and groups with the X-ray observations, and for estimating how emission from undetected components can bias the global X-ray spectral analysis
