PSYCHOPHYSICS: An Answer from the Unconscious
Biopsychology, and more specifically psychophysics are explored in relationship to information obtained from the unconscious with a meditative practice. Problem-solving methods and related principles of living in harmony with the cosmos without trying to manipulate the future for physical, emotional, or mental gain are presented through the experiences of one meditator
BIOFEEDBACK & SELF-REGULATION
Work with biofeedback in a self-regulation context is detailed through presentation of representative papers. Applications of biofeedback with migraine, hypertension and other disorders are described, as are skills in voluntary control of the physiology found in individuals with special abilities. Philosophical consideration is given to whether biofeedback represents a process of learned voluntary control or merely a conditioning process. The role of volition in biofeedback is examined. Dr. Green points to important ideas underlying biofeedback from ethology, freudian psychodynamics, perception, autogenic training and jungian psychology. The roles of self-reliance and empowerment in health is noted, as is the importance of "health" as a goal, rather than simply "illness treatment." Finally, Dr. Green discusses the esoteric significance of biofeedback training

THE NECESSITY FOR PROMOTING HEALTH: OR, As THEY MIGHT SAY IN WASHINGTON, IT'S HEALTH, STUPID, NOT SICKNESS
In one ofthe flw times Dr. Green addressed the politics ofhealth, he presented the material in the following paper which was prepared for the Leifer Report, a report on economic foctors for corporate America. It shows his thinking about the need to empower individuals rather than for them to be subjugated to those influences in society which would reduce their own powers ofself-determination. rEds.
ACUPUNCTURE AND MEDICINE IN THE NEW MILLENNIUM
This is a transcript of the presentation given by Dr. Helms at the June 2000 ISSSEEM conference. He addresses the classical wisdom of acupuncture and the contemporary science of this medical discipline. The topics cover proposed mechanisms of action and clinical applications
INTUITION, NEUROTENSIN AND THE RING OF AIR
Neurotensin may be a major marker for states of increased mental lucidity, the states in which holographic awareness is enhanced. Stimulating 13 specific acupuncture points, which we have identified as the Ring of Air, using a stimulus of 54 to 78 billion cycles per second (GigaHz) at 1 billionth of a watt per centimeter squared, coupled with stimulation by the Liss TENS on weekends, raises neurotensin levels up to five fold
ENLIGHTENMENT AND SPIRITUAL GROWTH: Reflections from the Bottom Up
A tendency to all-or-none thinking, you're either enlightened or you're not at all enlightened, confuses our understanding of possible aspects of spiritual growth. These ordinary state reflections begin with the difficulties of defining enlightenment, showing how it is dearer to consider endarkenment and work away from that all too common condition. Using the author's model that ordinary (and altered states) of consciousness are biological-psychological virtual realities, analogous with compurer-generated virtual realities, various continuous dimensions of enlightenment can be considered. The primary nvo discussed herein are the available (altered) states ofconsciousness dimension--what ASCs can a person access that are appropriate to various situations?-and the within states dimension of intelligence-given you are in ASC N, how effectively, in how relatively enlightened a way, are you using it? A tool analogy clarifies this line of thinking, where the various tools available are analogous to the available states dimension and the skill in using individual tools is analogous to the within states dimension. The importance of individual differences is stressed, for a person might be relatively enlightened within one particular stare, e.g., bur not have useful ASCs available, or a person might have access to many ASCs but function neurotically in all of them. As a reminder that this kind of reasoning can only take us SO far, even if a llseful distance (relative enlightenment within ordinary consciollsness), a case of Cosmic Consciousness is briefly described and suggestions for research are put foward
