Bagaimana Keberlanjutan Zakat dan Dampak Makroekonomi dalam Mengurangi Pengangguran: Peran Zakat dan Variabel Makroekonomi dalam Mengurangi Pengangguran di Indonesia
This study examines the short- and long-term impacts of inflation, economic growth, and zakat on unemployment in Indonesia, utilizing quarterly time-series data from 2011Q1 to 2022Q4. The unemployment rate serves as the dependent variable, while the independent variables comprise inflation, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and total zakat distribution. The analysis employs the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to capture both the short-run dynamics and long-run equilibrium relationships among the variables. The empirical results reveal that, in the short run, inflation exerts no significant effect on unemployment, whereas zakat has a positive and significant influence, and economic growth demonstrates a negative and significant impact. In the long run, however, both inflation and economic growth have a positive and significant effect on unemployment, while zakat exhibits a negative and significant effect. These findings underscore the importance of maintaining price stability, enhancing productivity-oriented allocation of zakat, and fostering inclusive and high-quality economic growth to effectively reduce unemployment in Indonesia.
Religious Authority and Economic Boycott: Critical Analysis of MUI Fatwa No. 83/2023 in the Framework of Economic Warfare: Otoritas Keagamaan dan Boikot Ekonomi: Analisis Kritis Fatwa MUI No. 83/2023 dalam Kerangka Perang Ekonomi
Although various studies have examined the economic and political impacts of product boycotts, research focusing on the implementation of economic boycotts driven by religious fatwas in the Indonesian context remains scarce. This study seeks to fill that gap by analyzing the Indonesian Ulema Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia) Fatwa No. 83/2023 concerning support for the Palestinian cause and the boycott of pro-Israel products, within the framework of fiqh siyasah and the concept of economic warfare. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a contextual content analysis approach, this research explores the substance and implications of the fatwa. The analysis finds that the fatwa emphasizes the moral and political dimensions of Muslim solidarity, positioning boycotts and the distribution of zakat and infaq as forms of ethical and humanitarian responsibility rather than economic instruments. Furthermore, the fatwa illustrates the integration of fiqh siyasah principles into contemporary discourse on global justice and Muslim solidarity. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how religious authority can influence moral reasoning and collective action within Islamic economic thought. The findings provide conceptual insights for scholars, policymakers, and community leaders on the role of Islamic legal perspectives in shaping ethical responses to global political issues, while promoting peaceful and principled engagement in international relations

Arabic Proverbs as a Pedagogical Tool to Enhance Arabic Speaking Skills among University Students
The teaching of Arabic speaking skills (Mahārah Kalām) often faces persistent challenges, particularly among learners in non-Arabic speaking environments who struggle to achieve fluency despite adequate grammatical knowledge. To address this gap, this study investigates the pedagogical potential of Arabic proverbs (al-amthāl al-‘arabiyyah) as culturally grounded tools for enhancing oral proficiency. Using a qualitative research design, the study was conducted with 30 undergraduate students of Arabic Language Education at Darullughah Wadda’wah International Islamic University. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings reveal three major outcomes: increased fluency and confidence through access to ready-made linguistic chunks, heightened cultural awareness and rhetorical sensitivity by engaging with moral and social values embedded in proverbs, and challenges in figurative comprehension and pragmatic application, which necessitate explicit instructional scaffolding. Despite these challenges, proverb-based pedagogy was shown to foster spontaneous communication, intercultural competence, and learner motivation. The study concludes that Arabic proverbs represent an effective pedagogical resource bridging linguistic knowledge and authentic oral expression, offering practical implications for Arabic language educators to integrate proverbs systematically into speaking activities and assessments

Understanding classroom participation and identity construction of Indonesian EFL teachers as language teaching assistants in U.S. universities
Studies on the interplay of teacher identity and classroom participation have contributed significant findings in transnational settings. However, in-depth research on identity construction and classroom participation of Indonesian EFL teachers serving as Indonesian language teaching assistants in U.S. universities remains scant. This study aims to explore the identity construction of Indonesian EFL teachers as they enact their roles as Indonesian language teaching assistants in U.S. universities. The study employed a narrative inquiry, collecting data through semi-structured interviews. Three EFL teachers serving as Indonesian language teaching assistants with Fulbright scholarships for Foreign Language Teaching Assistants (FLTA) participated in this study. Findings reveal that participants were actively engaged in all phases of instruction, including pre-teaching preparation, classroom interaction, and post-teaching reflection. Their collaboration with American supervisors and use of various digital tools demonstrates professional adaptability and commitment to effective language teaching. Additionally, participants constructed and negotiated their identities through daily interactions with students, colleagues, and members of the local community. Language use, cultural participation, and religious/national identity served as key dimensions in this identity construction. While participants maintained their Indonesian and Muslim values, they also embraced certain American cultural norms, illustrating the dynamic interplay between cultural adaptation and identity preservation.
Integrating Islamic Environmental Ethics into Legal Frameworks: The Role of Hima, Primum Remedium, and Strict Liability in Protecting Mining-Affected Communities

Meanwhile, the legal mechanism of environmental ethics has not been fully effective in terms of comprehensive protection in prevention or recovery. The study aimed to analyze the integration of Islamic environmental ethics principles into the legal framework of the role of hima conservation, primum remedium, and strict liability in strengthening environmental law. The method used normative juridical with a conceptual approach, case approach, and sources of Islamic law. The findings show that the hima conservation area is a place for traditional heritage conservation that maintains harmony among culture, humans, and the environment following the principle of maqasid syari’ah. Meanwhile, the limitation of industrial exploitation under the principle of primum remedium in positive law emphasizes the use of criminal law as a preventive measure and strict liability or absolute responsibility without any proof of fault. These three principles, if applied systematically into the framework of modern environmental law reform that integrates Islamic ethical principles into national environmental laws, will strengthen ecological justice and protection. It is supported by moral, cultural, and spiritual responsibility to protect the environment and build a sustainable legal system
