Islamic Educational Values Reflected in the Attitude of Qona’ah: A Conceptual Library-Based Analysis

    No full text
Despite the continued development of Islamic education, the internalization and practical understanding of Islamic educational values among learners have not always progressed in a balanced manner. This condition indicates a gap between educational advancement and value-based character formation. This study aims to conceptually examine the Islamic educational values embedded in the attitude of qona’ah and to clarify its relevance to character education within Islamic educational contexts. The research employs a qualitative library research method, drawing on classical and contemporary sources in Islamic education, ethics, and spirituality. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach to identify key conceptual themes related to qona’ah as an educational value. The findings reveal that qona’ah represents an integrative value encompassing faith (aqidah), moral conduct (akhlaq), and normative guidance (shari‘ah), which together shape attitudes of simplicity, gratitude, reliance on Allah (tawakkal), self-control, and responsible engagement with material life. Conceptually, qona’ah functions as a foundation for developing balanced individuals who are able to harmonize spiritual consciousness with social and material responsibilities. This study contributes to Islamic educational discourse by offering a coherent conceptual framework that positions qona’ah as a strategic value for character education, thereby reinforcing the integration of spiritual objectives and educational practice in Islamic education

Manajemen Kurikulum Perguruan Tinggi Pesantren Melaui Lean Concept Dalam Memenuhi Harapan Pelanggan

    No full text
Curriculum management in pesantren based higher education requires an approach that is not only managerially effective but also aligned with the fundamental aims of Islamic education, particularly the formation of faithful, knowledgeable, and well-mannered individuals (ta’dīb). This study critically examines the application of the lean concept in curriculum management within pesantren based higher education by positioning Islamic educational values as the primary analytical framework. Lean principles such as value stream mapping, waste reduction, and continuous improvement are not adopted mechanistically; instead, they are critically reinterpreted and adapted to correspond with Islamic values, pesantren traditions, and moral educational objectives. In this context, “value” is not defined merely in terms of customer satisfaction, but as educational benefit (maṣlaḥah) encompassing spiritual development, intellectual integrity, and the social relevance of graduates. This study employs a qualitative approach through literature review and conceptual analysis to explore the intersection between lean-based modern management and the philosophical foundations of pesantren education. The findings indicate that the lean concept can enhance the effectiveness and quality of pesantren curricula when it is reoriented from market-driven efficiency toward strengthening ta’dīb, ensuring sustainable learning processes, and reinforcing the moral responsibility of Islamic educational institutions. This study affirms that integrating modern management frameworks with pesantren values enables curriculum development that is both efficient and distinctly Islamic, thereby contributing to contemporary scholarship in Islamic educational management.

    No full text
In an era of globalization marked by developments in technology and cross-cultural communication, Arabic faces significant challenges in maintaining its relevance and appeal among the Alpha generation. The generation born between 2010-2024 is the first generation that has been thoroughly exposed to digital technology from birth, with characteristics that are very different from previous generations. This research aims to analyze the Alpha Generation\u27s perception of Arabic through a psycho-sociolinguistic approach, which examines psychological (interest, motivation and attitudes) and social (influence of the environment, media and global culture) aspects in learning Arabic. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and observations of Generation Alpha students in an Islamic-based education environment. The research results show that the Alpha generation\u27s perception of Arabic is influenced by three main factors: digital exposure, individual psychological constructs, and socio-cultural context. Most of the Alpha Generation have motivation to learn Arabic which is influenced by religious factors, but negative perceptions of the difficulty of this language often reduce their interest. This research is expected to provide new theoretical contributions in understanding the dynamics of language perception in the digital native generation and practical implications for the development of more contextual and innovative Arabic language teaching methods

Arabic speaking skill acquisition in Arabic Language Education (PBA) programs often faces challenges due to the lack of interactive teaching methods aligned with the language\u27s complexity. This study addresses the gap by applying Vygotsky\u27s sociocultural theory, which posits language develops through social interaction. This study addresses the prevalent gap in effective Arabic speaking pedagogy by integrating Vygotsky\u27s sociocultural theory into a simulation-based learning model. It explores how such an approach enhances the speaking skills of students in an Arabic Language Education (PBA) program. Employing a qualitative case study design, the research investigates student experiences and perceptions within this interactive framework. Findings demonstrate a significant improvement in students\u27 Arabic speaking proficiency, accompanied by elevated confidence and motivation. The study concludes that simulation models grounded in sociocultural theory offer a potent pedagogical innovation, contributing valuable insights to the discourse on communicative language teaching and the practical application of social learning paradigms in foreign language education

    No full text
Mastery of basic Arabic sentence construction for beginners is often hindered by monotonous, memorization-focused teaching methods, creating a need for innovative approaches that facilitate creative understanding. This quasi-experimental study investigates the effectiveness of Mind Bunyan Cards, a visual tool for sentence structuring, in enhancing Arabic writing skills. Involving 42 student participants, the study compared an experimental group (using the cards) with a control group (conventional method). Test data were analyzed using ANCOVA, controlling for pre-test scores. Results showed a statistically significant difference (F(1,39) = 13.52, p = 0.001) in favor of the experimental group, with a substantial effect size (ηp² = 0.257), indicating that 25.7% of the skill improvement is attributable to the intervention. These findings validate the tool\u27s effectiveness as an innovative learning medium that shifts the paradigm from mechanical memorization to meaningful and creative sentence formation

The Interference of the Indonesian Language in Arabic Communication at Modern Islamic Boarding School

    No full text
The gap in research on Arabic language interference in Indonesian Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) lies in the predominant focus on formal classroom contexts, while understanding of its manifestation in daily informal communication remains limited. This study addresses this gap by investigating interference from Indonesian into Arabic during non-classroom interactions among female students (santri putri) of the Modern Robithoh Islamic Boarding School in Bandung. Using an intrinsic qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed interactively. The findings reveal phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic interference, influenced by first language dominance, limited Arabic proficiency, psychological factors, and the sociolinguistic environment. These interference patterns negatively affect fluency and accuracy in Arabic. In response, the boarding school implements language development and immersion programs. This study highlights its novelty by exploring interference in the informal domain and recommends broader comparative studies and the integration of digital media to enhance communicative competence

English for specific purposes (ESP) teacher training for pre-service English teachers is needed due to the growing need for English in many professions. Though ESP teacher training is needed, this area is underexplored. This study attempts to investigate the actual needs of prospective ESP teachers. This is a qualitative case study involving six participants from three groups of Indonesian ESP teachers: two pre-service teachers, three in-service teachers, and one teacher educator. The data were collected from interviews with those participants and analyzed using thematic analysis. The finding of this study implies the need to integrate theories and practices in ESP teacher training by involving practitioners and providing opportunities to do teaching practice. Then, to become a professional ESP teacher, prospective ESP teachers should have pedagogical skills, good English proficiency, willingness to learn, and adaptability. This study implies that ESP teacher education should equip pre-service teachers with both skills and good attitudes. The tertiary education ESP program should ideally equip pre-service teachers with the basic concept of teaching ESP, one field of ESP, and a practical guide for prospective ESP teachers
