Psychological analysis of mothers with cleft children
Background: Parenting a child with cleft disorder required special attention, because this is related to the psychological condition of the mother. Mother's psychological problems can affect the growth and development of children. The purpose of this study was to analyze psychological of mothers with cleft children.
Method: The research method used in this research is descriptive analytic method with purposive sampling approach. Methods of data collection using a questionnaire to measure parenting stress, the short form parenting stress index (PSI) had adopted from Adibin has been tested for validity and reliability. The number of samples in this study were 150 mothers with cleft lip, palatal and cleft lip/palatal children.Statistic analysis with ANOVA test and Spearman test
Result: The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the stress levels of mothers of cleft children between cleft lips (CL), cleft palate (CP) and cleft lips and palate (CL/P) non syndromic (NS). The significance value is 0.000 (
The evaluation of taste sensitivity between conventional and electric smokers
Background: Taste has an important role in human life because of the sense of taste, humans have an ability to taste various flavors of food. Decreased taste sensitivity can affect the quality of life and cause a person to consume excessive taste substances. One of the factors associated with decreased taste sensitivity is smoking. Currently, a new type of cigarette (electric cigarette or e-cigarette) is being developed which is favorable to young people because it has a different content, shape, and taste compared to conventional cigarettes. E-cigarettes are considered safer because aerosol does not contain the tobacco content of conventional cigarettes and is an alternative to smoking cessation programs. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the difference in taste sensitivity between conventional smokers and e-smokers.
Method: This research is an analytical observational study using a cross-sectional design. The research subjects were conventional and electric smokers who were students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The research subjects were obtained by purposive sampling, a total of 32 people who had met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis used frequency tables for univariate data and an-independent sample T-test for bivariate data.
Result: The results of the bivariate analysis showed a significant value between conventional and electric smokers with p = 0.036 (< 0.05) for sweet, salty, and sour tastes, while for bitter tastes p = 0.031 (< 0.05).
Conclusion: Taste sensitivity in conventional smokers is less sensitive than in electric smokers. Sensitivity to bitter tastes in both treatment groups is less sensitive than sweet, salty, and sour tastes
Viability of BHK-21 Fibroblast Cells Resulting from Synthesis of Collagen Powder (Thunnus albacares) with Variation of NaCl Concentration
Background: Collagen plays a crucial role in post-extraction wound healing. Thunnus albacares skin, a collagen source synthesized through the papain soluble collagen (PaSC) method with varying NaCl concentrations, is assessed for non-toxicity using the MTT assay on BHK-21 fibroblast cell cultures. This research is to determine cell viability resulting from synthesizing collagen powder from the skin of yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) with varying NaCl concentrations using the papain soluble collagen (PaSC) method. Method: Collagen powder was synthesized by cleaning Thunnus albacares skin measuring 1x1 cm, soaking it in 0.1 M NaOH, hydrolyzing it with CH3COOH, extracting it with papain enzyme, and then dividing the samples into four groups: without NaCl, NaCl 0.9 M, NaCl 1.3 M, and NaCl 1.7 M. Samples were centrifuged (6000 rpm) and followed by freeze-drying. Cell viability was obtained by conducting a cytotoxicity test using the MTT Assay method on BHK-21 fibroblast cells. Result: The percentage of cell viability in groups K, P1, P2, P3, and P4 were 100%, 10.708%, 113.750%, 107.833%, and 105.958%, respectively. The Kruskall-Wallis test yielded a significance value 0.000, indicating a significant difference (p<0,005). The Mann-Whitney test confirmed significant differences between groups. Conclusion: Collagen powder from Thunnus albacares skin with NaCl concentrations of 0.9 M, 1.3 M, and 1.7 M showed no toxic effects, while the group without NaCl showed toxic effects. Collagen powder with a NaCl concentration of 1.7 M yielded ideal results and showed no toxic effects
Microbiological Profile in Oral Cavity Infection in Diabetic Rats with Periodontitis
Background: Diabetes melitus is a chronic metabolic disease due to the inability of the pancreas to produce insulin or the body cannot use insulin effectively.Periodontitis is one of the complications of microvascular disorders that ranks second in oral cavity diseases. One of the aerobic bacteria thought to play a role in the severity of diabetes melitus is Staphylococcus aureus, while the pathogenic anaerobic bacteria in periodontal disease are Treponema, Bacteroides, Porphyromonas, Prevotella, Capnocytophaga, Peptostreptococcus, Fusobacterium, Actinobacillus, and Eikenella. The study aimed to determine the microbiological profile in oral cavity infections of rats with diabetes melitus and periodontitisMethod: This study was experimental laboratories on male wistar rats induced by diabetes melitus and periodontitis using wire ligature on mandibular molars, which were divided into 3 treatment groups: group I (control), group II (diabetes melitus) and group III (diabetes melitus and periodontitis). Periodontitis (wire) rats were treated for 7 days and saliva was collected to identify the microbiological profile of the oral cavity. Result: Identification indicated the presence of genus and species of bacteria in the saliva of rats in 3 groups, gram positive: Staphylococcus intermedius, Staphylococcus cohnii subsp.urelyticus. Gram negative: Chromobacterium violaceum, Kleibseilla pneumoniae, Eikenella corrodens, Enterobacter sakazaki and Chryseobacterium meningosepticum. Conclusion: The number of bacterial colonies in the treatment group of diabetes melitus and periodontitis rats was greater than the treatment group of diabetes melitus rats and the control group. Gram staining results found groups of gram positive and gram negative bacteria.
Pengaruh Tata Kelola Perusahaan Terhadap Kualitas Laba dengan CSR Sebagai Variabel Intervening
AbstractThis study aims to analyze the influence of the board of commissioners, board of directors, and audit committee on earnings quality, with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as an intervening variable. The sample consists of publicly listed companies included in the LQ-45 index for the 2020–2023 period, selected using the purposive sampling method, resulting in a total of 27 companies. The analyzed data is secondary data obtained from the official websites of the Indonesia Stock Exchange and the sampled companies. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the Partial Least Square (PLS) method. The findings indicate that the board of commissioners has a positive effect on CSR disclosure, while the board of directors has a negative effect. Meanwhile, the audit committee does not influence CSR disclosure. Furthermore, the board of commissioners and the board of directors do not affect earnings quality, whereas the audit committee has a significant impact on earnings quality. This study also finds that CSR negatively affects earnings quality. Overall, the independent variables do not influence earnings quality through CSR disclosure. Keywords: board of commissioners, board of directors, audit committee, CSR, earnings quality ABSTRAKTujuan studi ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh dewan komisaris, dewan direksi, dan komite audit terhadap kualitas laba dan CSR sebagai variabel intervening.
