LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STOCK MARKET DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN SOUTH ASIA: PANEL DATA & ARDL MODEL ESTIMATIONS
This paper aims to explore the contribution of stock marketdevelopment towards economic growth in case of four South Asianeconomies, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka for the period 1990 to 2011. Using panel data to determine the long run (LR) as well as the short run (SR) relationship, we constructed an index by combining the components of stock market development by using the method of Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Our results suggest that stock market development leads to economic growth in the LR as well as in the SR and 88% percent disequilibrium is corrected within one year and the LR equilibrium is achievable in almost one year
WORK-FAMILY CONFLICT AND CAREER ORIENTATION AMONGST EMPLOYED WOMEN IN BANKS AND HOSPITALS
The changing environment of banking and health carebusiness is altering the demands of organizations regarding femaleemployees’ performance and expectations. Consequently, this has ledinto believing that female employees need to be as apt and productiveas their male counterparts. Questing for productivity, banking andhospital organizations expect from these female employees their full-time availability through organizational commitment. They oftenoverlook the truth that female employees have a family to cater to andhave simultaneous roles to play. This initiates the most commonlyobserved problem of Work-family conflict (WFC) amongst female fulltime banking and hospital employees in Pakistan. The study employedthe survey methodology comprising 131 randomly selected full-timefemale banking and hospital workers through self-administeredquestionnaire. The study finds that there is no significant differencein the opinions of the employed female hospital and banking officialspertaining to their experienced level of work-life conflict
STOCK MARKET COINTEGRATION: EVIDENCE FROM DEVELOPED AND DEVELOPING EQUITY MARKETS

Cointegration approach showed that one cointegrationequation exists in KSE and developed countries equity markets andtwo cointegration equations exist in KSE and developing countriesequity markets case. Granger causality test showed a uni-directionalrelationship between KSE and developed and developing markets, and a bi-directional relationship with Taiwan’s equity market.Variance decomposition analysis showed that most of the changes inKSE are due to its own dynamics in both the developed and developingmarkets. Correlation matrix shows that there is a weak or nocorrelation between the KSE and developed and developing countriesso the benefit of diversification can be achieved by investing in KSE

Teachers’ Beliefs about Differentiated Instructions in Mixed Ability Classrooms: A Case of Time Limitation
Students in today’s mixed ability classrooms come from diverse backgrounds with needs. In such a scenario, differentiated instructions are of prime importance for teachers to deal with in mixed ability classrooms. The teaching experiences and academic life mould perceptions of teachers which effects their teaching style; therefore, it is important to know teachers’ beliefs and perceptions regarding teaching in a mixed ability classroom at middle school level so as to guide educators and heads inside and outside the institution. For this study, quantitative research method was used to explore and understand the beliefs and perceptions of the teachers of middle schools regarding implementing differentiated instructions. The sample size included 120 teachers who were sent a survey questionnaire through online Google form and was constructed by customizing the questionnaire from Ballone and Czerniak (2001). The analysis of quantitative inquiry revealed that there is a positive association between teachers’ beliefs about their intentions and stakeholders’ expectations to implement differentiated instruction. It was highlighted that all stakeholders wanted teachers to implement differentiated strategies; however, the teachers were found to be short of planning and instructional time for differentiation
Insights of School Head About Marketing Education Services Through Digital Media
This study mainly focuses on the insights of a private school’s head pertaining to the use of digital media in educational marketing. The qualitative research paradigm was chosen for this study and in depth phenomenological interview was conducted from a head of a private school. Two themes were extracted from the data: Marketing educational services through digital media and its challenges, and digital media tool for marketing education services. The study revealed that the school head perceived the digital media to be cost-effective marketing strategy that was multidimensional and value-driven, but due to lack of awareness, skills, attitude, and sense of maturity among stakeholders, digital media was ignored and was not much used as a cost-effective marketing tool. Nevertheless, it is proposed that by hiring marketing personnel to promote services professionally, by aligning their strategies according to the demands of their customers, and by inviting customers’ voice on digital platforms, digital media can become a cost-effective and a valuable tool for mercerization of education

In Pakistan Higher Education Commission (HEC) is consideredas the centralized body that governs and sets policies forresearch and development for all educational institutions ofhigher learning. Availability of research material is one of themain hurdles in the production and creativity of manyresearchers in all disciplines at university level. Dearth of suchfacilities demotivates the young researchers, and they startlooking for opportunities in the urban countries. HEC has madethe first move by starting National Research Program forUniversities (NRPU) by promoting the Research &development to meet the current challenges. The aim of thisresearch is to provide the research status in Pakistan, itsstructure, funding and results. The support of the governmentto researchers plays a vital role. Some bottlenecks that havebeen identified are: centralized system, processing delays inapproval of funds and projects and slow execution of policiesThe delays in the approval and release of funds affect the systemand interest of researchers. Poor check on policy implementationresults in economic loss to the country. HEC is trying toencourage research culture in Pakistan; The HEC supportsresearchers based on their ability and impact factor with amaximum funding of 20 Million. It provides grants for researchprojects in the fields of Engineering, Science & Technology aswell as humanities and social sciences. Pakistan Export Earnings -Analysis 2009 -2011
Statistical year books have published the data on export revenue in dollars earned for each item for 2009 to 2011. In all 48 items have been recorded, which include Agricultural as well as manufactured items. Some items, which are mostly Agricultural earn a significantly large amount of earnings compared to the non-agricultural items. However the number of items of non-agricultural items is quite large. Some manufactured items which have an important position as export item are the petroleum products. In this paper a probability model has been developed, called the Exponential and in order to asses the variation in export earnings a Lorenz curve is calculated .From it the Gini Index is obtained. The variability in earnings is measured by Gini Index and forecast in this variation has been made .The items which have small variation from the ideal variation are selected, which are : Rice , Cotton ,Cotton added value item
Environment Friendly Products: Factors that Influence the Green Purchase Intentions of Pakistani Consumers
This study examines the influence of various factors on the green purchase intentions of Pakistani consumers. To this end, a conceptual model has been proposed and subjected to empirical verification with the use of a survey. The survey results obtained in two major Pakistani cities provide reasonable support for the validity of the proposed model. Specifically, the findings from the correlation matrix, simple regression followed by multiple regression analysis confirm the influence of OGI, EK, EC and PPP&Q on consumers purchase intentions toward green products. The OGI, EK and EC, in turn, also seem to affect consumers green purchase intentions via the moderating role of PPP&Q of a green product. Although the present findings provide a better understanding of the process and significant antecedents of green purchasing intentions, this also highlights one area for more thorough investigation. This is the significant moderating role of PPP&Q variables in consumers’ green purchasing process. As the findings suggest that respondents have a high positive attitude regarding green products and are ready to buy green products more often, but as for as the product price and quality are concerned, green products must perform competitively just like the traditional products. This study also discusses how the present findings may help the Pakistani government and green marketers to fine-tune their environmental programs
