No full textAs research institute, the performance of Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta is determined by the guality and productivity in disseminating and publishing the results of their research to the public. In the era of digitization, it is necessary for the institute to enhance their service to the public, especially academia as well as other stakeholders. To attain this, Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta, through its Documentation and Information Working Group, attempts to improve its performance in the management of data by converting the research data from hard copy into soft copy. Such improvement is solely intended to enhance the service guality and productivity of the institution to the public. The important role of the institution will not be appreciated by public if the institution is unable to deliver the results of their research in good and attractive presentation. Therefore, service marketing approach needs to be applied to improve the dissemination of service and information by Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta. This article describes how the improvement of service guality and productivity of research results are carried out in the institution

No full textSome historical-archaeological remains from Java in 9th-10th century such as inscriptions have been preserved in good condition. Most of them has been transliterated and documented on systematically corpus or catalogues. The inscriptions which incised on stone or chopper were issued by the king who reigned in Java on that time, usually to commemorate the establishment of a free-hold land or cultivation area. Social-cultural lifehood sometimes reflected from the inscriptions. Only a few can be classified as spell or 'mantra' inscription. Besides old Java writing, human figurines is also described on the the chopper inscription. She is Bhagawatimah Cidya Dewi, divine body with a baby on her arms. There are some correlations found between the description of the figurines with the verbal contents of the inscription

No full textBlora karst area is a part of Rembang karst area on its northern and southern side of Kendeng Mountain. Geographically as well as geologically, Blora karst area is similar to Tuban karst area, but from archaeological aspect both areas show a significant difference. Tuban karst area is rich with various artifacts and ecofacts from prehistoric caves in particular. Meanwhile, in Blora there is one only cave showing evidences as a prehistoric dwelling place, which is Kidang cave. This cave is important because it shows a specific character compared to other caves in Java

No full textIt is appropriate if activities such as the publication of archaeological research results, exhibitions, scientific meetings, or other forms of publication are categorized as "socialization" results of archaeological research. Basically, these activities are an effort to inform the results of archaeological research to the public. But of course the goal is not just to provide information regardless of whether the effect is as expected and planned. Meanwhile information becomes operational through communication. Therefore it is important to view and place the socialization results of archaeological research within the framework of the principles of communication.

Empat orang patihnya, di antaranya Sayang Hawu atau lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Embah Jayaperkosa, diperintahkan untuk menyerahkan sebuah pusaka kraton berupa mahkota emas kepada Prabu Geusan Ulun, penguasa Sumedang Larang. Kejadian yang dapat diartikan sebagai penyerahan tahta kerajaan Sunda itu diikuti dengan keberangkatan Prabu Siliwangi menuju puncak gunung Tampomas
