Manifold Learning and Undersampling Approaches for Imbalanced Class Sentiment Classification
Movie reviews are crucial in determining a film's success by influencing audience decisions. Automating sentiment classification is essential for efficient public opinion analysis. However, it faces challenges such as high-dimensional data and imbalanced class distributions. This study addresses these issues by applying manifold learning techniques, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Laplacian Eigenmaps (LE) to reduce data complexity and undersampling strategies (Random Undersampling (RUS) and EasyEnsemble) to balance data and improve predictions for both sentiment classes. On reviews of The Raid 2: Berandal, EasyEnsemble achieved the highest average G-Mean of 0.694 using Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) features with a linear kernel without dimensionality reduction. RUS provided balanced but inconsistent results, while Review of Systems (ROS) combined with PCA (85% variance cumulative) improved predictions for negative reviews. Laplacian Eigenmaps were effective for negative reviews with 500 dimensions but less accurate for positive ones. This study highlights EasyEnsemble's superior performance in addressing the class imbalance, though optimization with manifold learning remains challenging
Mapping students' perceptions of mathematics learning: a principal component analysis study
This study investigated the multidimensional landscape of students' perceptions of mathematics learning using principal component analysis (PCA). Data were collected from 102 high school students (grades 9-12, mean age 16.2 years) in Indonesia. The survey, adapted from validated scales including the Fennema-Sherman Mathematics Attitudes Scales and the Attitudes Towards Mathematics Inventory, assessed various aspects of mathematics learning perceptions. Analysis revealed fifteen initial components that were subsequently consolidated into two major factors. The first factor encompassed variables related to external and environmental aspects: learning interest, parental support, motivation, difficulties, resources, school facilities, approaches, classrooms, materials, and methods. The second factor comprised internal and cognitive elements: conceptual understanding, self-confidence, learning models, anxiety, and techniques. The PCA results highlight the complex interplay between cognitive, affective, and contextual factors in mathematics learning. The findings suggest that interventions should adopt a holistic approach, addressing both environmental and cognitive dimensions. This research contributes to educational practice by identifying key areas for targeted intervention while demonstrating the effectiveness of PCA in understanding complex educational phenomena. Future studies could explore these factors' generalizability across different educational contexts and their longitudinal evolution

KRABBY KRONICLE – A COMEDIC EPISODE OF SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS TO CRITICIZE THE PRACTICE OF YELLOW JOURNALISM
Cartoons as a medium of social criticism have been increasingly popular for the last decades. Famous cartoons targeting adult audiences like South Park and The Simpsons heavily tackle the politics and events in the USA. Children’s cartoons can be equally critical and political. However, scant scholarship still explores the political dimension of children's cartoons. This study aims at filling the scholarly lacuna by looking at how SpongeBob SquarePants, a cartoon dedicated to children, conveys its political message, specifically examining the Krabby Kronicle episode (2008); this article demonstrates that the episode heavily criticizes the practice of yellow journalism through the use of allegory. The allegory is utilized in the narrative to deliver the political message as they try to compare the practice of yellow journalism in the Krabby Kronicle episode and the actual practice of yellow journalism. The allegory is supported by the cinematic (mise-en-scene) aspect of the episode to make the narrative not only entertaining but also make the message believable
The Effect of Conformity and Financial Literacy on Impulsive Buying Behavior

Three Generations Under One Roof? : A Study of Interhousehold Transfers Among Sandwich Generation in Indonesia
Empirical studies show some negative effects that arise in sandwich generation households. Even the negative impact of the sandwich generation raises the behavior that they want to leave the house. However, the empirical studies only measure sandwich generation if the parents live in the households, so it is necessary to recalculate sandwich generation households in Indonesia through an interhousehold transfer mechanism. This study examines interhousehold transfer differences among sandwich-generation households between parents, siblings, and others in Indonesia. Using Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) 2014, this study found that 4.539 or 28,6 percent of households are classified as the sandwich generation, both if the elderly live in the household and the elderly doesn’t live in the household. Tobit regression analysis shows that non-one-roof sandwich generation households spend an interhousehold transfer 56,4 percent higher than one-roof sandwich generation household

IMPROVEMENT OF STUDENTS' CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AS AN IMPACT OF THE APPLICATION OF THINK TALK WRITE ON EARTH AND SOLAR SYSTEM
This research aimed to determine whether the Think Talk Write model increased students' critical thinking skills regarding the earth and solar system. A quasi-experimental research design was used, specifically Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study was conducted at Al-Kholiliyah Bangkalan Middle School during the 2023/2024 academic year, involving all class VII students. The VII-A cohort served as the experimental class, where the Think Talk Write model was implemented, while the VII-B cohort served as the control class, where direct instructional method was used. Purposive sampling was employed to select the sample groups. The N-Gain Score test was utilised to analyze the improvement in critical thinking skills. The results show a significant increase in critical thinking skills among students in the experimental class, with 100% achieving an improvement categorized as medium. In contrast, the control class showed only 7.14% improvement in medium category, with 85.71% of students falling into the low improvement category
