Intelligent Medicine Kit for Healthcare Monitoring, An IOT Based Solution
Increase in chronic diseases worldwide demands efficient healthcare solutions for maintaining well-beingof people. Treatment requires timely in-take of medicines and strict adherence to routine. This lack of adherenceis estimated to cause many deaths and hospitalizations. If we can get people to take their medications regularly, they won’t develop complications. In addition to improving patient outcomes, medication adherence will reducehealth care costs associated with these conditions. Healthcare monitoring solutions based on Internet of Things(IoT) technology has drawn significant research attention. This paper proposes an IoT based user configurablecustomized intelligent medicine kit augmented with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy technologies. It hascapability to detect whether patient is taking all prescribed medicines on fix schedule and intelligentlycommunicates the same to patient and their close relatives using uniquely created Four Tier Notification System(FTNS), thus helping patient to live a healthy life. The paper discusses a novel theme on the functioning of amedical grade device which would consume information from sensor and send it to the central server with amaximum possibility of success using Four Tier Notification System (FTNS). This novel approach discusseshandshaking of connection to the central serve with a fallback mechanism to achieve maximum success of datasynchronization. This paper also discusses how this useful data from medicine kit can help healthcare sector toclosely track patient's physical activities and helps to influence the way healthcare sector operates in future

On the Real Time Object Detection and Tracking
Object detection and tracking is widely used for detecting motions of objects present in images and video.Since last so many decades, numerous real time object detection and tracking methods have been proposed byresearchers. The proposed methods for objects to be tracked till date require some preceding informationassociated with moving objects. In real time object detection and tracking approach segmentation is the initialtask followed by background modeling for the extraction of predefined information including shape of the objects, position in the starting frame, texture, geometry and so on for further processing of the cluster pixels and videosequence of these objects. The object detection and tracking can be applied in the fields like computerized videosurveillance, traffic monitoring, robotic vision, gesture identification, human-computer interaction, militarysurveillance system, vehicle navigation, medical imaging, biomedical image analysis and many more. In thispaper we focus detailed technical review of different methods proposed for detection and tracking of objects. Thecomparison of various techniques of detection and tracking is the purpose of this work
Facile functionalization cum fabrication of novel fenugreek gum /chitosan based self-crosslinked hydrogel networks through Schiff base formation: Characterization & Swelling kinetic studies
Abstract
In the current scenario, material synthesis techniques are transitioning from traditional to safer, chemical-free routes. The current research focuses on the self-crosslinking of fenugreek gum(a medicinal seed gum) and chitosan via Schiff base production through an oxidative pathway into hybrid hydrogels. To create oxidised fenugreek gum(OFG), fenugreek gum was oxidised with sodium periodate. Periodate oxidation converts vicinal glycols in the backbone to aldehydic groups. Crosslinking occurred due to the creation of Schiff base imine connections between amino groups of chitosan and aldehyde groups of oxidised fenugreek gum without the usage of severe conditions or crosslinking and initiator systems. To confirm the structural modifications integrated as well as changes in physiochemical properties of the backbone, FTIR, powdered XRD, FESEM, EDX, and swelling experiments were performed on newly synthesized polymeric networks. To determine their suitability as drug delivery agents, swelling kinetics were examined as a function of reaction parameters and ionic strength of swelling medium.XRD data confirms an increase in crystallinity caused by oxidation, which further reflected as decline in swelling OFG. The pH responsive behaviour of OFG and OFG-cl-CH Schiff base matrix is validated by swelling kinetics. SEM examination validated the porous structural shape of the functionalized gel. Schiff base polymeric networks of OFG-cl-CH follow a pseudo-Fickian process. These newly synthesised OFG-cl-CH Schiff base could be employed as a possible drug delivery systems in the future
MRI-DTI Imaging Reveals Specific Neuro-degeneration Signature in Precuneus Node of Awareness Processing in Brain under Alzheimer’s Disease
Introduction:Alzheimer's disease(AD) displays progressive neurodegenerative atrophy, causing neuronal lossaffecting cognitive skills and memory. As precuneus is associated with episodic memory and is the reflexive self-awareness hub node, we consider precuneus as region-of-interest(ROI) for analysing AD.Objective:The main objective is find AD-caused alteration in nerve fibres, using diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) parameters like Mean Diffusivity(MD), Fractional Anisotropy(FA), and Nerve-tract Parameters, as number, length, volume, density, and thus, analyse the effect on precuneus by AD [when compared to normal subjects(CN)].Materials/Methods:Normals and Alzheimer’s subjects (n=50 each) were scanned with Siemens 3-tesla MRI-scanner. DTI parameters were estimated by DSI-FSL procedure, with statistical analysis usingt-test/ANOVA.Results:While ageing-process occurs in both AD and CN subjects, there is no change in “macro-structural” nerve fibre characteristics (e.g. Tract Indices: Number, density, volume, length). Contrastingly, there is significant alteration in “micro-structural” fibre characteristics, as increase in Mean Diffusivity(p=0.0006) and decrease in Fractional Anisotropy(p=0.0009) in Alzheimer's disease, when compared with normal subjects. Furthermore, comparing left-versus-right brain, Alzheimer’s patients (but not Normal subjects) show diminution in macro-structural nerve characteristics in left precuneus (compared to right precuneus): namely Tract’s number(p=0.0010), length(p=0.0107), volume(p=0.0225), density(p=0.0340).Conclusion:Under neurodegeneration, change in “micro-structural” nerve-fibre characteristics (Tract Indices), as opposed to “macro structural” fibre indices, can be hallmark for AD. Moreover, right precuneus is more protected in AD. Conversely, left precuneus has more neurodegeneration since its blood-flow is supplied by left common-carotid artery (unlike right common-carotid artery), this left artery arises directly from high-pressure aortic flow, transmitting turbulent hemodynamic stress to left precuneus

Automation of Refrigeration Systems for Extending Shelf life of Fruits and Vegetables in Remote Areas for Economically Weaker Section
India is an agricultural country. During lockdown, there had been a big problem transporting the productionto cold storages. Considering the problem of villagers, a low cost and affordable refrigeration system is proposedhere. The time and cost of transportation through the cold chain and the storage are thus saved. This cold storageis automated to control the environmental conditions suitable for extending life of fruits and vegetables. It uses amicrocontroller to control humidity, temperature and CO2 level which is appropriate for the commodity to bestored by the farmer. It alerts the farmer before the expiry date of the stored commodity through a message on thephone number linked with the storage. It uses the water obtained from condensation on cooling ducts for humiditycontrol. To maintain the optimum level of CO2 inside the chamber, fresh air is circulated at regular intervals oftime. It consumes same power as a refrigerator would consume. It does not require continuous water supply orammonia as in regular cold storage systems. It can be easily customized for a particular user
Quality Evaluation of Buckwheat Flour Incorporated Sesame Laddu and its Popularization
The perception of food and nutrition security is multi-dimensional. Food security happens when all individuals have physical and economic access to enough and nutritious food which meets their dietary requirements and food choice for an active and healthy life. Limited quantity and supply of nutritious food is a big threat for food security. Because of huge population and high level of malnutrition in India, it is a very big challenge to make sure the supply of sufficient food and nutrition. Buckwheat has become a functional food because of its nutrient content and positive effects on human health. It can be consumed as a food and also used in the treatment of many diseases. The major impacts of buckwheat on human health are its hypotensive, hypoglycemic, hypocholesterolemic, neuroprotective and antioxidant effects. Hence, it is used in the treatment for chronic and metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and celiac disease. Buckwheat flour was incorporated in sesame laddu at four different proportions (10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) and the formulated samples along with the standard were standardized. After standardization, it was subjected to sensory analysis and most acceptable proportion was selected and subjected for nutrient analysis. The cost of the product was also estimated. The selected product was popularized among adults. The sensory analysis proved that the sensory characteristics are acceptable with the addition of buck wheat flour. The carbohydrate content was high and the fat content was low in the selected product than in the standard product. The selected product costs little higher than the standard product
