    No full text
This study investigates the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) competence of five pre-service teachers during a one-month teaching practicum at MTs N 2 Banyuwangi. The study aimed to measure their overall TPACK competence and identify which domain is strongest and weakest. A descriptive quantitative design was employed using a 15-item self-assessment questionnaire on a 5-point Likert scale, complemented by document analysis of lesson plans, teaching materials, and reflective reports. The findings show that the participants demonstrated a generally high level of TPACK, with CK emerging as the strongest domain, followed by PK, whereas TK remained the weakest. The integrative TPACK score suggests that the pre-service teachers possessed moderate confidence in combining technology, pedagogy, and content during instruction. Document analysis further supported these findings by confirming strong content mastery and adequate pedagogical preparation, while also revealing limited integration of digital tools in classroom practice. These findings highlight the need for more structured technological training and earlier exposure to educational technology within teacher education programs to strengthen pre-service teachers’ technological competence. &nbsp

MAQASID AL-SHARI'AH AS A FRAMEWORK FOR REVITALIZING DA'WAH: A STUDY OF VOLUNTEER VULNERABILITY IN COMMUNITY RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS IN BANYUWANGI

    No full text
This article examines the vulnerability of volunteers within Islamic community-based da'wah institutions that experience functional disorientation due to weak institutional structures. Despite the growing prevalence of religious expressions such as majelis taklim and communal sermons, da'wah often remains trapped in ritualism without substantial orientation towards social protection. In the framework of maq??id al-shar?'ah, however, da'wah is expected to function as a form of social praxis aimed at safeguarding life (?if? al-nafs), lineage (?if? al-nasl), and religion (?if? al-d?n). This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and document analysis conducted in rural da'wah communities. The findings reveal that volunteerism in these institutions is largely ceremonial, individualistic, and ineffective in advocacy due to the absence of internal regulation, structured training, and cross-sectoral collaboration. Social fragmentation and the digitalization of da'wah further exacerbate this dysfunction, causing volunteers to lose grounding in both values and institutional support. This article proposes a revitalization framework for Islamic da'wah based on maq??id al-shar?'ah as an integrative approach that emphasizes the need for responsive and sustainable institutional design to address social vulnerability. These findings contribute to contemporary Islamic institutional discourse by positioning da'wah not merely as a spiritual medium, but as a critical node of long-term social advocacy and protection

KINSHIP SYSTEM AS WORD-OF-MOUTH MARKETING: A CASE STUDY OF ALUMNI NETWORKS AND STUDENT GUARDIANS IN ENHANCING THE REPUTATION OF ISLAMIC BOARDING SCHOOLS

    No full text
This study aims to reveal how kinship systems function as a word-of-mouth marketing strategy in strengthening the reputation of Islamic boarding school–based universities through the social networks of alumni, students’ parents, active students, and local majelis taklim communities. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design at an Islamic higher education institution known for its extensive alumni network and strong emotional ties with the surrounding community. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of social–religious activities, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The validity of the data was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings show that kinship relations and emotional bonds among alumni and students’ parents serve as effective social instruments in building a positive image of the pesantren-based university. Through informal communication, alumni testimonials and parental experiences generate a multiplication effect that expands the institution’s reputation into the broader community, especially through religious gatherings such as majelis taklim and alumni meetings. This study contributes to the development of social capital theory within Islamic education and offers an alternative model of educational institution promotion grounded in trust, spirituality, and sustainable social networking

Islamic banking has developed into an important part of the world's financial system, especially in Indonesia, which is one of the most populous Muslim countries in the world.. The existence and role of banking in Indonesia, both for society and for large, medium, and small industries, have a significant impact. This is caused by the high demand for banking services, whether for capital strengthening or fund storage, which has become an essential part of daily life. This study aims to analyze the role and contribution of Islamic banking to Indonesia's economy through a historical perspective. Using a descriptive qualitative method, the research examines the development of Islamic banking since the establishment of Bank Muamalat in 1992 to the present. The findings reveal that Islamic banking makes an important contribution in supporting the national economy, particularly through Sharia-based financing focused on empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). However, Islamic banking faces significant challenges, such as low Islamic financial literacy, limited product innovation, and competition with conventional banking. To address these obstacles, strategic measures are required, including strengthening regulations, enhancing Islamic financial literacy education, and leveraging digital technology to expand access to financial services. These findings emphasize that collaboration among the government, society, and industry players is essential to strengthen the role of Islamic banking as a driver of equitable and sustainable economic growth
