    Title : The Effect of Azolla Inoculum Dosage and Organic Potassium Fertilizer on Potassium Availability and Rice Yield in Alfisol. This research conducted to determine the proper dose of azolla inoculum and organic potassium to increase the availability of potassium and increase yield of paddy rice,and to determine the best dose combination instead K availability. The research was conducted in May 2012 until November 2012 at Jumantono dryland research centre, Karanganyar regency and Chemical and Soil Fertility laboratory Agriculture Faculty UNS Solo. The research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using P as the treatment combination of Azolla inoculum and organic pottasium. For comparison is the treatment of manure and NPK fertilizer. The Variabel for this research are pottasium exchanged, CEC, organic matter, total N in the soil, dry weight of grain harvested and milled, and weight of 100 seeds. Data were analyzed by F test and DMRT at 5% level. The results showed that the combination dose of Azolla inoculum and organic potassium can increase the availability of potassium and rice yields on Alfisol soil. The research showed P8 (Combination of azolla inoculums 5 ton/ha and organic potassium 100 kg/ha) as the highest treatment.Padi (oryza sativa) merupakan bahan makanan pokok bagi rakyat Indonesia. Padi memiliki masalah dalam budidayanya salah satunya kurangnya unsur hara makro dan mikro dalam tanah. Tanaman padi memerlukan unsur hara terutama unsur hara Kalium (K). Efisiensi pemupukan sangat dipengaruhi oleh efisiensi serapan hara tanaman. Pemberian pupuk kalium organik dan inokulum azolla merupakan salah satu cara untuk memperbaiki unsur hara makro didalam tanah Alfisol yang umumnya memiliki unsur hara makro dan mikro yang rendah. Kalium menjadi salah satu faktor pembatas utama dalam usaha budidaya padi sawah karena tingkat efisiensi penyerapannya masih tergolong rendah. Pemanfaatan azolla disini sebagai pupuk organik memang memungkinkan bila dikembangkan. Pasalnya, bila dihitung dari berat keringnya dalam bentuk kompos, mengandung unsur Nitrogen (N) 3-5%, Phosphor (P) 0,5- 0,9% dan Kalium (K) 2-4,5%. Berdasarkan komposisi kimia tersebut, bila digunakan untuk pupuk mempertahankan kesuburan tanah, setiap hektar areal memerlukan azolla sejumlah 20 ton dalam bentuk segar, atau 6-7 ton berupa kompos (kadar air 15%) atau sekitar 1 ton dalam keadaan kering sehingga dapat mengurangi pemakaian pupuk kimia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengaplikasikan inokulum azolla dan kalium organik pada tanaman padi yang ditanam di tanah Alfisol. Dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan akan didapat suatu manfaat dan ilmu dalam pengembangan budidaya tanaman padi di tanah alfisol agar dapat menghasilkan produksi yang maksimum

    Title : Evaluation of Land Capability for Food Plants at Rural Tobacco Area in East Part of Sindoro Mountain. This research was conduct at east part of Sindoro Mountain in Central Java with elevation around  1,000 – 2,000 m. Observation  showed  land degradation  occurred  in this location.  This research was to know decreasing of land quality of tobacco area and the possibility of this area for  food  plants  production  as  tobacco  substitution.  The  steps  of  research  were  soil  survey, laboratory  analysis  and  plotting  of land characteristics  into food  plants  requirements.  Results showed  that  the soils  of area  are  Entisols  and  Andisols  with  slope  of 8 to 30%.  GIS  analysis resulted  in 5 land  unit  areas.  Land  suitability  for  tobacco  is marginally  suitable  (S3)  and  not suitable (N) with limiting factors are precipitation, soil solum, pH H2O, C‐organic and slope. Land suitability for corn is marginally suitable (S3) and not suitable (N) with limiting factors are precipitation, soil solum, pH H2O, C‐organic and slope. Land suitability for cassava is not suitable (N) with limiting factors are soil solum and slopes. All of land unit areas have limiting factor for tobacco and food plants.     Title : Efficiency of P Uptake by Potato in Andisols by Vermicompost Addition. Mostly potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.) are planted on Andisols that have problem in phosphate fixation. The aim of this research were to know the efficiency of P fertilizing in Andisols that were added vermicompost and SP36 and to know potatoes yield in Andisol. This research was conducted at Tawangmangu, Karanganyar on October until December 2007. The method used was split plot design, as a main plot was vermicompost, i.e. no vermicompost and 10 ton.ha-1 vermicompost. Sub plot consist of four levels of P fertilizer (SP36), i.e. 100, 250, 400, 550 kg.ha-1 and control. The observation variables are available P, efficiency of P absorption, weight and diameter percentage of potato tuber. F test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and DMRT 5% test is used to analysis data. The result of this research shows that there is interaction betwen vermicompost and 400 kg.ha-1 doses SP36 to highest available P in the soil is 2.157 ppm P2O5, but there is no interaction on yield. The addition of 10 ton.ha-1 vermicompost can increase weight of potato tuber (30.83 %) and decreased percentage of potato tuber amount diameter in < 9 cm (48.05 %). Addition of 250 kg.ha-1 SP36 can increase percentage of potato tuber amount diameter in 12-15 cm (57.46%). The highest result of potato is reached on tuber diameter > 15 cm (37.16%) with 10 tons.ha-1 vermicompost additions.     The fertility capability soil classification system (FCC) on several sub catchment areas, Sempor catchment area of Kebumen district Central Java. Sempor catchment area have many function, one of them is as a central of agricultural sector in Sempor sub district. The agricultural sector in Sempor catchment area hasn’t been able to catch up the optimal production. The production was only sufficient to supply farmer requirement. The research in order to agricultural development uncommon to do in Sempor catchment area. The research usually talking about the sedimentation process of Sempor basin whereas for the other problems weren’t gave much attention. Sempor catchment area has different characteristic on soil physic, chemical, and fertility. The research about the fertility capability soil classification system (FCC) on several sub catchment areas, Sempor catchment area need to be done in order to agricultural development. This research was used soil survey methods, and laboratory analysis. Result of this study shown that Sempor catchment area have different in soil fertility. Sampang sub catchment area has four FCC that is LR (≥45%), LCk (15‐30%), SC (30‐45%), and LC (8‐20%). Ketegan sub catchment area has three FCC that is LCk (15‐30%), SC (30‐45%), and LC (8‐ 20%). Kedungjati sub catchment area have four FCC that is LCk (15‐30%), SC (30‐45%), C (30‐45%), and LC (8‐20%). Kalikumbang, Kaliputih, Kedungwringin, and Sempor sub catchment area have two FCC that is LCk (15‐30%), and C (30‐45%), and Seliling sub catchment area have three FCC that is LCk (15‐30%), SC (30‐45%), and C (30‐45%).     Title : The Status of Ca Mg and S Nutrient as Basic Fertilizing of Soybean (Glycine max L. Merril) in Punung, Pacitan. The purpose of this research was to recognize the availability of Calcium (Ca) Magnesium (Mg) and Sulphur (S) nutrient, to give fertilizing suggestion, to give common fertilizing and soil management strategy. This research was phenomenological Descriptive Qualitative research by means of field survey which supported with soil analysis in lab. The determining of Ca Mg and S nutrient status and its management strategies was checked on each land units. The land unit’s map in Punung was obtained by overlaid soil map, slope map and land use map. From the overlay was obtained 19 land units. At the time that, The soil sampling take out in each land unit was doing as randomize (purposive sampling), to calculated the necessity of fertilizer based on the difference number of nutrient available in the soil and total removal Glycine max L. merril nutrient with the number of nutrient that carry on (total removal) in the harvest time, at the time that to determine fertilizing suggestion based on the result of fertilizer necessity (surplus or deficit) each unit land (SPL). Punung fertility level in common based on the Ca nutrient status are medium (6.08-7.87 cmol/kg), Mg nutrient status are high (4.05-5.25 cmol/kg) and S nutrient status are very low ((0.0013-0.0001%). The fertility suggestion was directed to the needed of S nutrient by adding the inorganic fertilizer that is ZA and Phonska. The rights soil and plant management strategies in Punung are: (1) Fertilizing of organic fertilizer as big as 5 ton/ha. (2) In the slope area by making level to the land as an effort to reduce erosion level. (3) In the flat area by using and making the mulch and the drainage line. (4) The right management plants by rotation system and planting in the same direction of contour line. Keywords: Glycine max L.     Title : The Effect of Organic Matter and Phosphor Fertilizer to Availability and Absorption of Phosphor with Sweet Corn Plant (Zea mays saccharata strurt) Indicator. This research purposes was to find out the effect of the kinds of organic sources and P fertilizer to the availability and absorption of phosphor in Andisols and to find out kinds of organic sources and P fertilizer dosage that can give the highest of availability and absorption of phosphor in Andisols. This research was conducted in Green House and Chemistry and Soil fertility Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Sebelas Maret University from June 2005 until January 2006. This research used Factorial Randomized Complete Design with two factors. The first factor was P0 (without P fertilizer), P1 (100 kg/ha P2O5) and P2 (100 kg/ha P2O5), the second factor consist of B0 (without organic matter), B1 (Gliricida sepium 10 ton/ha), B2 (rice stalk 12 ton/ha) and B3 (manure 14.25 ton/ha). They are 12 treatments that be repeated three times. Data were analyzed with F-test or Kruskal-Wallis test 1% and 5% was used to know the effect of treatment on experimental result. Duncan multiple range test 5% is used for comparing inter-treatment. For finding out the relation between primary dependent variable and secondary dependent one it is used correlation test. The result of research shows that the organic matter and P fertilizer appliances have very significant effects to the availability of phosphor in Andisols and the absorption of P by the plant. The rice stalk appliance 12 ton/ha with P fertilizer 100 kg/ha P2O5 (P2B2) gives the highest availability of phosphor; that is 24.67 mg/kg. The highest absorption of P can be found at the manure appliance 14.25 ton/ha and P fertilizer 100 kg/ha P2O5 (P2B3); that is 2.24 mg.
