    No full text
For powder extinguishing agents based on the useful life of the powder extinguisher, a powder extinguisher with a elapsed life of 6-10 years was collected from market, factory, and apartment houses to experiment with changes in volume by appearance and sedimentation, and to examine digestive characteristics. As a result of the study, the first, second, and third arithmetic mean analysis of the apparent specific gravity experiments from 6 to 10 years of use, showed that the total arithmetic average of three experiments in the market area with an 8-year useful life was 127mL. In 2012, the average arithmetic average of three experiments in multi-family housing with a 10-year useful life was 131mL, which was found to be inappropriate. Second, in the experimental value for sedimentation, it was found to be unsuitable in the 2012 sedimentation experiment on samples in the apartment area. In other words, the sedimentation test of the powder extinguishing agent should not occur within an hour, but the sample in the apartment complex area in 2012 was found to be defective. Third, the fire extinguisher needs to be strengthened to enable fire extinguisher maintenance and inspection because problems that cannot be used during initial fire suppression occur depending on the place of deployment, surrounding environment, age of use, and maintenance status

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the fineness variance, one of the fire extinguisher's physical properties experiments, to confirm the maintaining state for fire extinguishing performance with changes in the internal pressure of the dry chemical extinguisher and the use periods, which were not covered in previous studies. The analysis results in fineness variance to examine the fire extinguisher's performance showed a difference in fineness variance with the change in internal pressure, whereas there was no difference in fineness variance with use periods. However, why sample 09-6-new in the recycled dry chemical powder with 13 elapsed years was found inappropriate was considered to result from poor maintenance, such as external environment and management status. So, it showed that fire extinguishers' maintenance proved an essential factor. Accordingly, it was suggested a need for practical training of fire safety managers and improving fire extinguisher inspection methods. &nbsp

Applying Shainin’s Tools to Process Improvement for Reducing Cracking Defect of Sanitary Product

    No full text
The objective of this research attempt is to implement the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach, a part of the Six Sigma methodology, in order to diminish the loss of sanitary ware during the production process. Specifically, this study focuses on addressing the issue of cracking defects that often occur in the production of sanitary wares after the firing process. Cracking defects manifest as gaps on the surface of sanitary wares, resulting in nonconforming and aesthetically inferior products. The AG27 Model, a highly demand toilet bowl, was selected as the case study due to its significant occurrence of cracking defects, accounting for 20% of the total defective units. The research utilizes the Six Sigma methodology in conjunction with Shainin's tools to identify the root causes and enhance production yield. The employed Shainin's tools include the Family of variation (FOV's), Concentration chart, Paired comparison, and Better and current (B vs C). The primary focus area of investigation involves the variation in the forming process and the design of the plaster mold. Through the use of the concentration chart, it was determined that the cracking defects predominantly appear along the border line between the rim and body of the toilet bowl. Subsequent experiments, based on paired comparison, confirmed that the design of the border line, which incorporates a hollow body shape, and the potential degradation of mold quality due to frequent use, were the two significant factors contributing to the cracking defects. In order to address these issues, a new design was implemented to enhance the connection between the rim and solid body of the AG27 toilet bowl. The practicality of this solution was validated through the utilization of the B vs C tool during the improvement phase. As a result, the occurrence of cracking defects decreased from approximately 4.0% to 1.92% during the control phase, representing a potential reduction of defects by over 50%

A Review on Effects of Operating Parameters in Batch and Column Mode for Adsorption of Methyl Violet Dye

    No full text
Direct discharge of industrial effluents without treatment into natural sources poses a significant risk to the environment. Dye compounds are toxic and difficult for nature to process, causing serious physiologic harm to all organisms that come into contact with them. Water quality is directly impacted by the presence of methyl violet (MV) dye pigments as it reduces the photosynthetic activity of the streams, so it is crucial to eliminate it. Adsorption is generally accepted as a reliable method for getting rid of dye in wastewater. In most cases, the adsorption process is aided by the mutually beneficial interactions between the adsorbent, the dye, and the adsorption environment. This review highlights current scenarios of MV removal by various low-cost, eco-friendly adsorbents, and their efficiency. The removal of MV is examined in depth in this review paper, which discusses a variety of batch and column adsorption design experiments. Several parameters influence the adsorption process, which is the foundation of all laboratories looking for the best conditions. The primary goal of this review is to provide current information on the most researched affecting factors for batch and column operating modes. Flow rate, dye concentration, and bed height are all parameters in column adsorption investigations and contact time, pH, temperature, particle size, agitation speed, and adsorbent dose were all compiled for batch adsorption investigations and summarized in this review

This study aims to address the issue of the use of modern technology as a mechanism that would protect child victims and witnesses of crime, by shedding light on the definitions associated with the study, the legal regulation of the use of these means with child victims and witnesses of crime, the legal scope of using these means, and talking about the procedures to be taken. The study followed the analytical approach to the legal provisions of the legislation under study. The study reached a set of results, including that electronic means are an effective means to remove the child victim or witness of crime from the atmosphere of the courtroom and reduce his tension by avoiding him confronting the offender, and to provide an appropriate environment that enables the victim or witness of crime to focus on questions and answer them in a comfortable environment. It enables him to provide better and clearer testimony, and the position of the Jordanian legislator came to explicitly stipulate the use of electronic means to protect child victims and witnesses of crime in investigation and criminal trial procedures, taking into account the guidelines adopted by the United Nations in the field of child witness and victim protection, as the legislator took into account When organizing the legal provisions for the use of electronic means, the Jordanian legal guarantees the validity of the investigation and criminal trial with children. Through the means of audio-visual communication, it became possible to direct interactive communication with sound and image without physical movement between children who are spatially separated from the court, and this is an achievement of the principle of presence, oral and public. It also concluded with a number of recommendations, including amending the legal provision that makes the use of electronic means to protect child victims and witnesses of crime permissible for the court to be obligatory in all investigation and criminal trial procedures as long as the legal guarantees for trials are observed, and to find a kind of continuous coordination and cooperation with the leading countries. To develop working methods in the courts, to achieve speedy justice, and to better serve children who are victims and witnesses of crime. Perhaps this study contributes to identifying the limits reached by the State of Jordan in terms of legislative and procedural interest in electronic means and its use to protect child victims and witnesses of crime
