    Role Of Plant-Based Bioflavonoids in Combating Tuberculosis

    Innovative strategies are required to address the ongoing threat of tuberculosis (TB), which continues to be a serious worldwide health issue. Growing interest has been paid to plant-based bioflavonoids because of their potential as TB adjunctive treatments. This chapter offers a thorough examination of the varied function of bioflavonoids in TB treatment. The first sections highlight bioflavonoids' natural defense roles in plants while describing their chemical diversity and origins. We study the mechanisms of action of bioflavonoids on Mycobacterium TB, including how they interfere with biofilm development, virulence factors, and host immunological responses. Notably, the potential for decreased drug resistance and shortened treatment durations is highlighted when discussing the synergistic effects between bioflavonoids and traditional TB medications. The anti-inflammatory properties of bioflavonoids are examined in the context of TB pathogenesis, addressing their role in modulating inflammatory responses and mitigating tissue damage. Clinical studies evaluating bioflavonoid efficacy, safety, and bioavailability are reviewed, providing insights into their therapeutic potential. Challenges associated with bioavailability and formulation are also discussed, highlighting strategies to optimize drug delivery.Incorporating ethnobotanical perspectives, we explore historical plant-based remedies for TB and the integration of traditional knowledge with modern research. The abstract concludes by outlining future directions, emphasizing promising bioflavonoid candidates for TB treatment, targeting latent infections, and advocating for collaborative, interdisciplinary research efforts. Ultimately, this chapter underscores the promising role of plant-based bioflavonoids as a potential avenue for enhancing the efficacy and resilience of TB treatment strategies, offering hope for improved outcomes in TB management

    Chabacano Legends: A Reflection of Zamboangueño’s Faith

    The primary goal of this study is to recognize, examine, and comprehend the Zamboangueños' religious beliefs as they are portrayed in the Chabacano stories of Zamboanga City. The stories of fifteen (15) written legends taken from Teresita P. Semorlan's "Chabacano Legends" and Orlando B. Cuartocruz's "Zamboanga Chabacano Folk Literature" (1990) were analyzed using historical and sociological precedent (1984). According to the study's findings, there are seven different types of religious belief held by Zamboangueños, including historical and traditional religion, unwavering faith, common or human faith, strong faith, rooted faith, active faith, and belief in miracles or apparitions. To completely capture and comprehend the meaning and interpretation of various faiths, the researcher spoke with several locals. It was determined that Zamboangueños, irrespective of their religion, have unwavering confidence in God

    A Grow Together Project: Performance Evaluation of Improvised Organic Fertilizers on the Yield of Cash Crops and its Economic Contribution to Agriculture Graduates in Tawi-Tawi Province, Philippines

    This study considers improvised organic fertilizers as one of the bioremediation therapies to restore soil fertility and the ecological stability of the farming environment. This used four homemade materials and leftovers to create improvised organic fertilizers. Banana peels, papaya peels, leaves, fish remains, and sea urchin pines are common food wastes that typically have no further use after the food has been devoured. Farmers could use these materials in a bioremediation process that supports the farming environment's ecological and economic stability. This study provides feedback on the significance of homemade organic fertilizer as it improves farmers' economic and environmental contributions. The parameters of this study were the yields of these four crops and the farmer's income. In this study, four different crops—peanut, bell pepper, string bean, and corn—were subjected to four different concentrations of improvised organic fertilizers, including: for the peanut, a concentrated mixture of ripe banana peels and papaya extract; for the bell pepper, a concentrated mixture of triturated sea urchin spines and basil extract; for the corn, a concentrated mixture of algae and wild basil extract; and for the string bean, a The data was analyzed using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD), which produced highly good yield results for these crops and thus boosted the local farmers' income. The results were as follows: 1) Peanuts treated with 1500ml improvised organic fertilizers yielded 3.06 kilograms with a total mean score of 3.59abc; 2) Bell peppers treated with 1500ml improvised organic fertilizers yielded 15.9 kilograms with a total mean score of 5.30; and 3) corn treated with 1500ml improvised organic fertilizers yielded 5.30 kilograms with a total mean score of 5.30. The farmers' income was implied by the investment's return on these four crops. According to the study, income grows when yield rises, and selling volume is high

    The purpose of the study was to investigate the Utilization of the Women's Organization of the Indonesian Student Corps Samarinda Branch as a Base for Gender-Based Leadership. The research was conducted in a qualitative description with a narrative approach. Conduct in-depth interviews in data collection as many as 10 respondents then the data is collected, reduced, displayed and then drawn conclusions. The results of the study that the use of iGenerations regeneration in Kohati are reviewed based on the basic pattern of Kohati development divided into individual regeneration and group regeneration carried out formally, non-formally and informally. Based on the process of regeneration of iGeneration cadres, several inhibiting and supporting factors can be identified internally and externally. Based on the members' point of view, cadres as participants in gender sensitive cadre training activities influence the success of the forums that are conducted. But on the other hand externally from an organizational point of view. sometimes forums that are built are not maximally and totally able to provide the desired values in a predetermined curriculum. So based on the consideration of the values that exist in the field, it is necessary to carry out a thorough evaluation that does not only focus on how the presenter presents the learning concept, how the participants are able to capture the learning properly. But also the adjustment of the forum discussion curriculum so that it is still able to answer various challenges and problems that are present in the organizational process

    The article is based on the practice of using Edmodo learning social networks in the world and in Vietnam to apply social networks to teach some Vietnamese modules in English for students of Primary Education major of Tan Trao University to adapt to the new normal. The application has created online classes parallel to face-to-face classes; Study guide; Evaluate; Archiving learning materials. Initial results show that: The roles of lecturers and students have changed positively; Learning activities are organized and implemented in a variety of ways; Exploiting effective learning data sources; How to evaluate effectiveness. Therefore, the use of learning social networks in teaching is an effective way to help the teaching process adapt to the new normal

    Determination of Potentially Toxic Elements in Quinoa Crops Located in the Huacaybamba–Huanuco-Peru Area

    Soil contamination by heavy metals is a global environmental problem, which has attracted public attention due to the consumption of various agricultural products. When heavy metals are mentioned, they refer mainly to metals and metalloids that have biological toxicity such as cadmium, lead, mercury and arsenic, which have the capacity to bioaccumulate in the kidneys and liver, causing carcinogenic renal and brain tumors. These elements are mobilized in soils through natural processes such as mineral deposits, groundwater, hot springs, volcanic rocks, and also through anthropogenic activities related to mining activity in the area. Consequently, heavy metal contamination poses a great threat to human health, due to the potential risk of bioaccumulation of these heavy metals through the food chain. Quinoa is a plant grown in the Andean highlands of Peru and Bolivia and is becoming increasingly popular due to its high nutritional value and protein content. In particular, the cultivation of quinoa has grown substantially in recent years, and is in great demand in the national and international markets, due to the fact that the free trade agreement for imports of quinoa in the US does not pay tariffs, thus Peruvian exports could be favored. However, despite the interest that quinoa has generated in terms of its nutritional properties, little is known about the environmental profile of its production and processing. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to determine the presence of some potentially toxic elements (PTE) such as As, Pb, Cd, Zn and Cu that can be found in quinoa production. Currently, there is no information on the contents of these elements in the crops located in Huacaybamba-Huánuco. That is why in the present work we will use a methodology for taking soil samples from the areas, then through instrumental analysis by atomic absorption spectrophotometry, the concentrations of PTE present in the study area will be determined. As a result, according to the quality standard for agricultural soils in Peru and the European standard, it was found that in the case of Arsenic, Copper and Zinc all the concentration data obtained were below the permissible limits, while for Lead, the 46 % of the data obtained exceeded the standard and in the case of Cadmium, 100 % of the data obtained exceeded the environmental quality standard in the soil. Based on this information, the distribution of these elements will be characterized using geochemical maps of the area

    Access to Finance and Sustainable Human Development: Does Institutional Quality Matters in Developing Countries?

    Access to finance plays an important role in boosting economic activities, human capital development and access to health care, which promote human well-being. this study examines the heterogenous relationship between access to finance and sustainable human development in 21 developing countries, from 1996 to 2020. The study uses group-mean FMOLS and DOLS estimators with deterministic trend. The results show that the three proxies of access to finance promote sustainable human development in developing countries, but the effect of number of ATMs per 100,000 people is higher than that of number of commercial bank branches and domestic credit to private sector. The results also show that institutional quality matters as it enhances the positive effect of access to finance on sustainable human development for all the three proxies of access to finance. Government spending, Institutional quality and FDI found to promote sustainable human development in the long run. To promote sustainable human development, policymakers should pursue policies, programs and incentives that motivate commercial banks to establishes more branches and ATMs not only in urban centres but also in villages and remote locations

    This research aims to analyze the Critical Success Factors (CSF) of Public Private Partnership (PPP) Indonesia that are very significant due at the ontological level and sociological level. The problem is very interesting to be analyzed by conducting qualitative research method.  Data were collected through indepth interview, documentation and observation. Data were analyzed by using data reduction, data display and data verification and supported by triangulation. The results are categorized into several themes. Based on these results as per ontological level and sociological level are useful for improving Public Private Partnership policy and practice and providing information to stakeholders related as inputs for making better regulation on Public Private Partnership as well as for public officials and practitioners

    Evaluation of Calcium Ion Transport Number through a Cation Exchange Membrane By Chronopotentiometry

    In this research work, the transport properties of calcium ions (Ca2+) in a heterogeneous cation exchange membrane (IEM) MK-40 of Schekinoazot. Aqueous solutions of sodium chloride (NaCl) and calcium chloride (CaCl2) of 0.01 M and 0.02 M concentration, respectively, were used. The limit current density and transport numbers were evaluated by means of the chronopotentiometry technique, applying electric current pulses, obtaining electric potential differences, from which the chronopotentiograms were obtained. Then, plots of electric potential difference variation with respect to time were constructed to find the transition time. A linear fit of the transition time with the square of the inverse of the inverse of the electric current density was performed based on the modified Sand equation to determine the Ca2+ transport number. The results showed the Ca2+ transport numbers in the cation exchange membrane and in solution are 0.976 and 0.437, respectively. The limiting current density was also found for both membrane-solution systems. We conclude that chronopotentiometry is an accurate and fast technique for the determination of the ion transport number in systems consisting of ion exchange membranes and electrolyte solutions

    Supply chain management is critical for companies (suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, and retailers) and researchers. Supply chain sustainability is important in Developing Countries. To evaluate the performance of supply chains in companies located in Developing Countries like Albania and Kosovo, this article will examine the findings of the Supply Chain Operation Reference (SCOR) model. Utilizing the SCOR model can improve a company’s chances of survival and rivalry in the market. The selection of Performance Attributes appears to be the standard for measuring performance. By contrast, Snorm De Boer normalization equates the importance of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) calculates the weighted criteria of KPIs, and Objective Matrix (OMAX) analyzes the measurement results of the KPIs. This article identifies unexplored areas for future research that will be beneficial in the field of supply chain management, such as the creation of supply chain performance metrics, creation of a model that is tightly integrated into the supply chain, and  handling supply chain-related problems and issues. &nbsp
