A Robust Integrated Watermarking Algorithm for Vector Geographic Data Copyright Protection

    Get PDF
Vector geographic data play an important role in the natural resources and environment sector as well as in other location information services. This is also one of the types of data where the cost to create it is relatively large because of the difficulty in surveying, collecting, and authorizing. The rapid development of the Internet has created many advantages in the distribution, exploitation, and use of vector geographic data, but it also gives rise to many problems such as duplication, redistribution, forgery, and illegal data use. The theft on the Internet is becoming more and more sophisticated and the number of violations is increasing, showing the urgent need to research and develop an effective solution to protect the copyright of vector geographic data and prevent them from being illegally collected and used. Among the major studies and solutions, digital watermarking emerges as an effective method and is an active research area for copyright protection. Towards a good solution for copyright protection of vector geographic data, our study proposes a new algorithm with three main contributions, including: (1) generating short, pseudo-random meaningful watermarks to in-crease robustness and to enable automated as well as visual manual verifying; (2) building a uniformly distributed mapping between the vertex coordinates and the watermark bit indexes to increase the robustness of the watermarks; and (3) integrating two types of watermarks, namely, spatial domain-based watermarking and zero-watermarking to be resistant to most common attacks on geographic vector data. The algorithm works on all types of vector geographic data, including points, polylines, and polygons

One of the effects of stunting phenomenon in the future is having higher risk of experiencing sectio caesarea labor because it is correlated to the unideal size of the pelvis of adult women with short height. This study aims at analyzing and evaluating the effect of family life support model towards stunting child’s family before and after intervention by implementing family life support model education. The design of this research was quasi experimental research with non-equivalent control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This study was conducted in South Padangsidimpuan District, Padangsidimpuan City for five months from June to October 2022. The research intervention was done for three months by distributing leaflets; there was visit or monitoring using research questionnaire and anthropometric measurement each month. The collected data were analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate analyses using SPSS and independent t-test as the parametric test. This research discovered that there were differences in knowledge (p=0.000), attitude (p=0.000), and behavior (p=0.000), both in the treatment group and in the control group so that there was a change on the family’s nutrition behavior before and after being intervened using family life support model-based stunting leaflet. After being intervened, it was noticed that there was a meaningful difference on the knowledge, attitude, and behavior at the same time on both groups (p=0.000 < 0.05). The conclusion of this research finding delivers the evidence that intervention to decrease stunting for the respondents also has to consider the parents’ height, age, and parity, especially if it is their first pregnancy and if the parents have short height or are young. An adequate family-based nutrition education program to support the respondents and monitor children’s height since birth will help preventing stunting in the future

This study aims to investigate the demand for third spaces in micro-cities and explore people's perception, desire to stay, and willingness to revisit these spaces through questionnaire surveys and SEM structural model analysis. In micro-cities, integrating the "micro-mobility" mode such as walking or cycling for short-distance travel, we can create small squares, public green spaces, and pocket parks around micro-spaces to enrich the street space and enhance community belonging and identity. These micro-spaces not only serve as development areas for the functions of third spaces in micro-cities but also act as permeable boundaries within the city, achieving balanced planning and utilization. The research findings indicate that people have relatively weak awareness of third spaces but are generally satisfied with the existing planned spaces and believe that third spaces can enrich the urban environment. Dynamic urban spaces have a strong appeal to people, and the experiences and services provided by these spaces can attract people to visit. Therefore, designing spaces that stimulate interaction and communication is crucial. Additionally, the aesthetic quality of the spaces also has a certain influence on people's willingness to revisit the

What Makes the Swiss Banks Special?

    Get PDF
The Swiss banking sector has long been famous for its success in attracting foreign assets and wealthy clients. This article aims to analyze the reasons behind the success of Swiss banks by considering various factors. The research paper includes a literature review, methodology, and examination of key elements such as foreign assets, Indian 'black money,' the largest Swiss banks, the impact of the coronavirus crisis, Swiss banking secrecy, overall country stability, stable currency, and globalization. The study reveals that Swiss banks have historically been a preferred destination for people from politically and economically unstable countries seeking secure storage for their wealth. The existence of banking secrecy laws, dating back to 1930s, has played a significant role in attracting international clients, although other factors have also contributed to the success of the sector. The analysis of foreign assets shows a substantial amount of money held in Swiss banks, accounting for a significant portion of global cross-border assets. Indian 'black money' has also found its way to Swiss banks, although efforts to disclose account information have been ongoing. The largest Swiss banks, including UBS and Credit Suisse, have played a pivotal role in the country's financial sector. The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the Swiss banking industry was analyzed, showing that despite challenges, the industry managed to offer new jobs and maintain profitability. The study emphasizes the importance of Swiss banking secrecy, which has been a key factor in attracting wealthy clients for centuries. However, it argues that secrecy alone does not fully explain the success of the Swiss banks. Other factors, such as overall country stability, a stable and easy convertible currency like the Swiss Franc, and the role of globalization in facilitating international operations, have all contributed to the sector's prominence. In conclusion, the success of Swiss banks is a result of multiple factors working together. While banking secrecy has played a significant role, other favorable conditions such as political stability, a strong currency, and global outreach have also contributed to Switzerland's status as a global financial hub. Understanding the interplay of these elements sheds light on the reasons behind the exceptional performance of the Swiss banking sector

    Get PDF
Background: Menstruation is a natural phenomenon in women after puberty and is often associated with dysmenorrhea (Garg, 2015). Dysmenorrhea is very common, painful menstrual cramps of uterine origin, which is commonly divided into primary dysmenorrhea (pain without organic pathology) and secondary dysmenorrhea (pelvic pain with an identifiable pathologic condition, such as endometriosis or ovarian cysts) (Nagy, 2021). Doctors and other women give a lot of conflicting advice to reduce the pain during dysmenorrhea.  To handle menstrual pain, we can utilize either the pharmacological or non-pharmacological methods. Pharmacologically, menstrual pain can be treated with medication. However, Non-pharmacologically, menstrual pain can be reduced by adequate rest, regular exercise (especially walking), water immersion, and pressing pressure points and by drinking traditional herbs such as turmeric water (Armour et al., 2019). Alleviation of pain during menstruation will result in good productivity and confidence among women. Aim of the study: To evaluate the effectiveness of comprehensive nursing interventions (Hydrotherapy, Rice heat pad, Turmeric therapy, Acupressure and Self-learning booklet) on pain perception and dysmenorrhea symptoms among adolescent girls. Methods and design: The study was conducted using a Quantitative approach with Quasi Experimental Time Series with 2 group pretest and posttest design. Forty-Eight adolescent girls in the age group of 13-17 years were selected by using random sampling technique for both experimental and control group. In phase I, Data about background variables was collected before pretest, using socio demographic Performa and menstrual Performa. The researcher has conducted pretest level of Dysmenorrheal symptoms were assessed during first menstrual cycle for the first three days (1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day) by using Numerical Rating scale (NRS) and modified menstrual symptoms questionnaire (MMSQ) to the control group and experimental group. Comprehensive Nursing Interventions ((Hydrotherapy, Rice heat pad, Turmeric therapy, Acupressure and Self-learning booklet) were given to adolescent girls in experimental group on individual basis. Assessment of Effectiveness of Comprehensive Nursing Interventions on level of pain perception and dysmenorrheal symptoms were measured by using same pretest scale. The major findings of the study: Comprehensive Nursing Interventions ((Hydrotherapy, Rice heat pad, Turmeric therapy, Acupressure and Self-learning booklet) is an intervention in reducing Pain perception and dysmenorrheal symptoms as the pre-test mean score, SD and Mean percentage of experimental group shows that Mean (7.42±1.8) and control group Mean (7 ±2.34) on level of pain perception among adolescents with dysmenorrhea. So, the difference is 0.42, not statistically significant. Pretest mean score, SD, and Mean percentage of dysmenorrheal symptoms in experimental group shows that Mean (127.38±8.88) and control group Mean (125.25± 7.66) among adolescents with dysmenorrhea. So, the difference is 2.13, not statistically significant, assessed using student independent t-test. In posttest, there was a significant difference between experimental and control group of adolescent girls. The significant p- values 0.001 indicates, the level of pain perception and dysmenorrheal symptoms score were not similar in both groups, calculated using chi square test. Experimental groups are reduced the 44.20% of pain perception score and 20.67% of dysmenorrheal symptoms score after having comprehensive nursing interventions and control group are reduced only 2.90% of pain perception score and 1.61% of dysmenorrheal symptoms after routine care. There is significant association between posttest level of pain perception and demographic variables of adolescent girls with the age group of 13-14 years and 10th standard and posttest level of pain perception and menstrual variables of adolescent girls with 28 days menstrual cycle and moderate extent of blood loss in experimental group. There is significant association between posttest level of dysmenorrheal symptoms and demographic variables of adolescent girls with the type of family and family history and posttest level of pain perception and menstrual variables of adolescent girls with day of flow and material used in experimental group. Discussion:  The findings of the study enlighten the fact that comprehensive nursing interventions can be used as cost-effective interventions and showed higher participant satisfaction during intervention by reducing the level of pain perception and dysmenorrheal symptoms score in adolescent girls with primary dysmenorrhea
