    Investigating The Impact of AI- Driven Chatbots On the Acquisition of English as A Foreign Language Among Saudi Undergraduate Students

    The primary aim of this research is to investigate the influence of AI-driven technology, such as chatbots, on the acquisition of English as a foreign language among undergraduate students currently enrolled at Najran University. The present study examines the reported benefits, academic accomplishments, challenges, and overall satisfaction of using chatbots for English language acquisition. However, the process of gathering data for language proficiency assessments is commonly conducted by administering surveys. The surveys gathered measurable data on students' viewpoints regarding the benefits of employing chatbots, as well as their overall satisfaction with these solutions. The research assessed the influence of chatbots on the process of language acquisition by quantifying students' language abilities before and following the implementation of these technological resources. This study also investigates the challenges and limitations associated with implementing chatbots. This study also aims to identify the obstacles associated with chatbot-based language learning systems to get insights into areas that can be enhanced. The findings inform the design and implementation of more effective language learning systems. The research findings significantly contribute to the existing academic literature on novel approaches to foreign language acquisition (FLA) in higher education contexts. The results obtained from this study offer significant insights to educators specializing in language instruction, developers responsible for designing curriculum, and technology experts interested in the effectiveness and limitations of artificial intelligence technologies and chatbots in enhancing the English language learning process. However, the research provides empirically supported recommendations for integrating chatbots into language learning instructional methods and optimizing the effectiveness and involvement of FLA encounters for undergraduate students at Najran University and comparable educational establishments

    Presence and Impact of Uterine Fibroids in Women with Menstrual and Premenstrual Syndrome – A Statistical Analysis

    A number of non-invasive alternatives to hysterectomy are available for treating uterine fibroids, but they may not effectively relieve all symptoms. As a result, it has become increasingly important to use patient-reported outcomes to assess the success of these alternative therapies in reducing uterine fibroid symptoms. These symptoms can range from heavy menstrual bleeding to dysmenorrhea for women who experience menstrual and premenstrual syndrome. To standardize the assessment of fibroid-related symptoms, the Uterine Fibroid Indicators and Analysis of Patient Recovery survey form (UFS-APR) was developed as a patient-recovery report analysis. The UFS APR is used to analyze womenfolk with uterine fibroids existing with menstrual and premenstrual syndrome. In our study, we had translated and validated the UFS-APR in India to examine its reliability, correctness, scope, validity and responsiveness in assessing the treatment of uterine fibroids

    Integrating Students with Learning Disabilities into Regular Classrooms

    This study investigates integrating a student with learning disabilities into regular classrooms. The research involved interviewing eight inclusion teachers who worked with this student for one academic year. Through this study, the researcher sought to gain insight into the current situation, address the challenges of inclusion, and gather the perspectives of inclusion teachers working in integrated classrooms. The results of this research could help inform modern trends in inclusion education. The main promising finding is that the inclusion teachers' role is critical in aiding students with special needs to develop their social, educational, and cultural values. In addition, the study sheds light on the challenges that the teacher experienced and proposed recommendations to overcome them. The study recommended providing teachers with the proper training and support, encouraging teachers to create special plans for each student's needs, and encouraging parents to be involved in their child's education

    Ipomoea Reniformis: Isolation, Characterization, and Evaluation of Scopoletin and its Antioxidant and Cytotoxic Activities

    The Ipomoea reniformis is found predominantly all over India and is used traditionally for several diseases including for the cure of cancer. This study aimed to isolate and characterize phytoconstituents from bioactive extract, evaluate antioxidant and cytotoxic properties of chloroform (CH), ethyl acetate (EA), ethanol (ET), hydroalcoholic (HA) (50%v/v) extracts and isolated compound. Antioxidant property was evaluated by using 1,1-Dipheny l, 2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay and cytotoxic potential was evaluated by using MTT (3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide) Assay. All the extracts (CH, EA, ET, HA) of Ipomoea reniformis exhibited significant antioxidant potential but the highest antioxidant activity (94.84 ± 1.56 % at 1000 µg/ml) was shown by ET extract with IC50 value of 52.24 µg/ml and SM (scopoletin) isolated from ET extract showed more potent antioxidant activity IC50 value of 52.24± 0.9367 µg/ml, and the highest antioxidant activity (96.29± 0.86 %) at 1000 µg/ml compared to ET extract.  The percent cell viability of MCF-7, A-549, and HCT-116 human cell lines was evaluated by treatment with CH, EA, ET, HA extracts and SM. The percent cell viability was found to be, ET (4.4117 ± 6.2711%, 0.0605 ± 0.7748%, 9.8290 ± 2.1149%) and SM (4.23± 1.38%, 0.059 ± 0.32 %, 8.92 ± 0.87%) for MCF-7, A-549, HCT-116 respectively.  Therefore, from the present study it was concluded that isolated SM has more potent antioxidant and cytotoxic potential than ET extract of Ipomoea reniformis

    Dominant Factors of Banking Profitability That Implicate Firm Value

    This study is intended to examine the dominant factors that influence the profitability and stock returns of the banking sector when high interest rates occur. The object of this research is the banking sector companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange with a population of 33 companies in the 2011-2016 period. Using certain criteria so that a sample of 10 companies is obtained. This study uses the variables BOPO, CAR, NPL, LDR, SBI, ROA, and Tobin's Q firm value. All the research variables are divided into two research models, namely the first model uses the endogenous variable ROA which functions as an intervening variable and the second model uses the endogenous variable Tobin's Q firm value. In the results of the first research model, the BOPO and NPL variables have a significant effect on ROA, while the CAR, LDR, SBI variables have no significant effect on ROA. All exogenous variables together using the F-test have a significant effect on the endogenous variable, ROA, at the Adjusted R Squared level of 0.421089. In the second research model results that the variables BOPO, CAR, NPL, and LDR have no significant effect on Tobin's Q firm value. By using the F-test, all exogenous variables together have a significant effect on the endogenous variable, Tobin's Q firm value, at the level of Adjusted R Squared 0.194291. Among the exogenous variables in this study, the dominant factor is the NPL variable in the first research mode

The present study was conducted to explore the effectiveness of STEM approach for understanding membrane formation  in Biology. The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of STEM approach for understanding of concepts of biology. The findings of the present study clearly revealed that student understand the concept of membrane formation through STEM approach in a better way as compared to conventional approach. This paper is a humble attempt to discuss position of STEM approach, initiatives of Government of India, and the impact it has on student learning and overall educational outcomes in India

    Effects of Steroid Use On Nutrition Knowledge and Attitude, Body Image Perception, And Cognitive Ability of Bodybuilders

    The use of steroids among bodybuilders is considered typical by many, probably due to the tendency to become exceptionally lean and masculine. However, as anabolic steroids may cause adverse effects, this may make steroid-using bodybuilders vulnerable to unhealthy eating and perception of body image. Therefore, a study was conducted to determine whether steroid-using bodybuilders have different nutrition knowledge and attitude, body image perception and cognitive ability compared to their non-steroid-using counterparts. Fourteen amateur bodybuilders, including seven self-claimed steroid users, voluntarily agreed to participate in this study. Nutrition knowledge and attitude were determined using established self-administered questionnaires. While body image perception and cognitive ability were assessed using the Adonis Complex questionnaire and mental rotation test, respectively. When comparing steroid and non-steroid users, there was no difference in nutrition knowledge and attitude. However, both groups significantly differed in body image perception (p= 0.048) and cognitive ability MRT (p= 0.039). Even though these findings show significant impacts of steroid use on certai

    High Strength Lightweight Concrete, using Scoria and Mineral Admixture

    The purpose of this study is to investigate a high-strength lightweight concrete (HSLWC) using Scoria aggregate and mineral admixtures. The experiment findings are presented in this paper. In the concrete mix, basaltic (scoria) was used as a lightweight aggregate. A control lightweight concrete mixture made with lightweight basaltic (scoria) containing ordinary Portland cement as the binder was prepared. The control lightweight concrete mixture was modified by replacing 10% of the cement with silica fume. The control lightweight concrete mixture was also modified by replacing 10% of the cement with metakaolin. A third mixture of lightweight concrete was also prepared, modifying the control lightweight concrete by replacing 10% of the cement with metakaolin and 10% of the cement with silica fume. &nbsp

    The Interconnection between Energy Efficiency and CO2 Mitigation in the Development of Multifamily Buildings

    This paper aims to analyze energy efficiency in the life cycle of multifamily buildings in Metropolitan Lima, Peru, to improve productivity, competitiveness and reduce environmental impact. Decarbonization technology has been investigated, which focuses on reducing or eliminating carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from energy sources used by buildings, thus contributing to the fight against climate change. This study collected statistical information from real estate projects to identify the primary means of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, such as carbon dioxide (CO2). The objective was to maintain an effective balance between costs, time, and quality, thus ensuring the productivity and profitability of the buildings. The research method was deductive, using a quantitative approach to analyze numerical data on energy efficiency in multifamily buildings. The applied orientation allowed linking the findings with the concrete improvement of construction and operational practices. The study is framed within a descriptive and correlational approach, allowing the identification of relationships between energy efficiency and CO2 emissions and explaining the relationship between these variables. The study design was non-experimental, as no controlled manipulations of variables were performed. A cross-cutting and forward-looking approach was adopted, analyzing the data at a single point and considering possible future effects of the energy efficiency measures implemented. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the application of energy efficiency measures allowed a 25.00% reduction in CO2 emissions. This finding highlights the relevance of energy efficiency as an effective tool to mitigate the environmental impact of multifamily buildings in the region. In conclusion, this study has shown that implementing energy efficiency practices can significantly reduce CO2 emissions in multifamily buildings in Metropolitan Lima. These results provide a solid basis for adopting sustainable measures in the development and operation of facilities, aiming towards more environmentally friendly construction and contributing to the fight against climate change. &nbsp

    Comparison of the Optimization of the Coagulation-Flocculation and Electrocoagulation Treatment of Slaughterhouse Wastewater Using the Response Surface Method

    In this work, the coagulation-flocculation and electrocoagulation treatments were compared in the removal of pollutants from wastewater from the Conchucos slaughterhouse, Lima. For the coagulation-flocculation treatment, we worked with 4 independent variables with their respective experimental ranges, coagulant dose (600-1000 mg / L), flocculant dose (4-8 mg/L), fast stirring speed (250-350 rpm), slow stirring speed (80-100 rpm), for electrocoagulation the parameters of stirring speed (250-350 rpm) and stirring time (15-30 rpm). The central compound design method (DCC) optimizing by response surface (RSM) was used as an experimental method for the reduction of pollutants as a function of chemical oxygen demand (% COD), a jar test equipment was used for the coagulation-flocculation and a one-liter shaker with aluminum plate electrodes at 30 V. The results show that coagulation/flocculation and electrocoagulation presented statistical models with F-values of 5.33, 20.30, significance p<0.05, with adjustments of R2 of 0.6179, and 0.7571 for an optimal arrangement with %COD reduction prediction, respectively. The electrocoagulation treatment presented a reduction of 75.43% similar to the predicted model, of the 2 treatments compared, the electrocoagulation is below the maximum admissible values (VMA) in COD, BOD and Oils and Fats, complying with the necessary parameters for the discharge to the sewerage system. &nbsp
