The Effect of Neuropathic Pain on Psychological Well-Being of An Individual
Get PDFThis comprehensive study delves into the intricate relationship between neuropathic pain and psychological well-being among individuals while exploring the multifaceted influences of pain severity, gender, socio-economic class, and potential gender-based disparities. Employing a cross-sectional design, data were meticulously gathered from a sample of 110 participants within a medical facility. To assess neuropathic pain and psychological well-being, the study thoughtfully employed self-report measures, notably the DN4 Questionnaire for pain assessment and the Satisfaction with Life Scale for evaluating psychological well-being. The findings of this study unveiled a robust and statistically significant negative correlation between neuropathic pain and psychological well-being (r = -0.87, p = 0.02). This compelling correlation indicates that as the severity of neuropathic pain escalates, psychological well-being tends to markedly diminish. This relationship was further corroborated through linear regression analysis, demonstrating that for each incremental unit increase in neuropathic pain, there is a corresponding decrease of 0.87 units in psychological well-being (p = 0.001). Furthermore, this study unearthed noteworthy negative correlations between neuropathic pain and distinct domains of life, encompassing general activity, mood, normal work, relationships, sleep and enjoyment in life. These correlations illuminate that as the severity of neuropathic pain intensifies, individuals encounter impediments in various facets of their lives, including their daily activities, emotional states, work performance, social interactions, sleep quality, and overall life satisfaction. Notably, the socio-economic class emerged as a salient factor influencing well-being, with individuals in the middle class exhibiting significantly higher well-being scores when compared to their counterparts in the lower socioeconomic class (F = 5.770, p = 0.004). Intriguingly, gender did not wield a substantial impact on either well-being or pain levels in this study's context. The profound implications of these findings underscore the imperative necessity for the development and implementation of comprehensive pain management strategies, as well as robust psychosocial support systems tailored to individuals grappling with neuropathic pain. Future avenues of research should consider adopting longitudinal study designs to gain insights into the evolution of these relationships over time and should also explore nuanced cultural and gender-related factors that might further elucidate the complex interplay between pain experiences and psychological well-being
English First Additional Language learners’ challenges in the implementation of process writing in Grade 10
Get PDFThis paper seeks to explore English First Additional Language learners’ challenges in the implementation of process writing. The qualitative method was adopted, whereby document analysis and semi structured interview methods were used. The EFAL teacher and six learners from an identified secondary school were interviewed and learners’ essays were reviewed. The study revealed that learners write essays that have no effective introduction, weak idea support (ideas in all the paragraphs were not linked), and poor conclusions. Learners are challenged with organisation of ideas in sentences and paragraphs; omission of words which affect the message conveyed; punctuations and lack of vocabulary. It was also evident that teachers do not successfully implement the process of writing in the classroom. There is a lack of teaching and assessment of essay writing skills in the classrooms. Therefore, this paper recommends that the Department of Education arrange ongoing training for teachers on the implementation of process writing and modern methods of lesson delivery. Learners should be given more practical writing activities, engage in the writing process, and given the opportunity to collaborate with the teacher or their skilled peers to improve their writing skills
Significant Medical Study Written in Kosovo in the 17th Century Content Analysis of an Anonymous Medicinal Book Written In Kosovo in the 17th Century
Get PDFThe aim of this studies is to analyze an anonymous medicinal book on medicinal herbs written in 1610 at the Halved lodge in Rahovec, Kosova. This book was written in Turkish during the Ottoman Empire and it has not been studied before. The author, a Sufi wise, wrote his works in poetic style and in Turkish, Albanian, Arabic and also French. Since this person is a well-known doctor in the region where he lives, it is thought that he treated people throughout his life and wrote this work for new doctors to use in their treatment due to the lack of doctors. The treatment information in the book has been used for many years during and after the author's time. In addition, it is thought that this information, which includes the doses of drugs and medicinal herbs used in treatment, may be useful in the treatment of many diseases with herbal methods today. Content analysis was used for the review and analysis of the selected study. The analysis and the meaning of the words were performed; the method and the quantity or dosage used is given in the pharmaceutical codex. The Latin names of the medicinal plants referred to in the book were determined. These analyses showed that this book, which is about making remedies from plants used for treatment, has a wide range of treatments for 72 different diseases. 59 different cures for these diseases are reported in the text. It has been observed that many of the treatments reported in the book are still used today. As a result, it is thought that this valuable work that has not been analyzed before will make a great contribution to the related field

The Limitation of The Effectiveness of Google Classroom as An Online Platform in During the Coved-19 Pandemic in Iraqi Universities
No full textThe popularity of the Web and rapid developments in its tools have had a clear impact on the educational field. Many countries try to take benefit of the advantages provided by the Web like online learning programs. This paper shows the effectiveness of the Google Classroom platform as an alternative to material lectures on the campus during the application of quarantine considering the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). This study was applied to the Iraqi public and private universities scattered in different regions of the country. The data was collected by sending an online questionnaire. Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was adapted to examine the effectiveness of learning online activity. The number of answers was 1704, which were collected online from male and female college students. The student's difficulty in dealing with Google Classroom as an alternative to attending inside campus appears in the data analysis section, where the data of the statistical analysis of this study showed negative results in terms of Google Classroom subscales like the ease of use, perceived usefulness, communication, and interaction and perceive instruction delivery. On the other hand, some positive results appeared related to the student’s satisfaction in using Google Classroom. This finding indicates that Google classroom to be a difficult medium of use for students due to the universities and the lecturers in Iraq never uses such online programs in their studies
Management of Intra-Articular Distal Radius Fractures by Open Reduction Internal Fixation and Plate Osteosynthesis Vs Ligamentotaxis : A Comparative Study
Get PDFAIM: To analyze and compare the functional and radiological outcome of different methods of surgical management of intra-articular distal radius fractures in 50 patients treated by either open reduction, internal fixation and plate osteosynthesis using distal radius volar locking plate or by closed reduction and ligamentotaxis using external fixator with the addition of k wires. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This prospective interventional study was conducted among 50 patients with distal radius intra-articular fracture, treated by either open reduction internal fixation and plate osteosynthesis using distal radius volar locking plate or by closed reduction and ligamentotaxis using external fixator with the addition of k wires if needed in our institute between July 2020 and November 2022 over a period of 2 years and 5 months. RESULTS: In our study, there were 43 male and 7 female patients, most of whom were in the age group 30-50 years (48%). The mode of injury in most cases was RTA (Road traffic accident).Out of 50 patients, 25 were treated by Open reduction, internal fixation with Volar locking compression plate and 24 were treated by Closed reduction and external fixation augmented by K wire fixation (Ligamentotaxis). There was also found to be no significant difference in the radiological outcome in both groups of patients, i.e Radial length (p=0.253), Palmar tilt (p=0.08), Radial inclination (p=0.075) and articular step-off (p=0.207). In terms of functional outcome of both procedures, only significant difference was found to in palmar flexion of the wrist joint (p=0.003) with better range of palmar flexion seen in the Open reduction and internal fixation with volar locking compression plate group. There was no significant difference seen in dorsiflexion, ulnar and radial deviation, supination and pronation between both surgical techniques. We had a few complications such as malunion, pin loosening and wrist stiffness in our study, majority of which was seen in the Ligamentotaxis group, but it had no statistical significance. A mean DASH score of 11.788 was seen in the VLCP group and 15.192 was seen in the Ligamentotaxis group, the difference was not statistically significant
Attitude towards Continuous Internal Assessment and Study Habits of the Student Teachers in Manipur
Get PDFThe study's main purpose is to analyze the attitude towards CIA and study habits of B.Ed. student teachers and their relationship. A randomly drawn group of 600 B.Ed. student teachers enrolled at different teacher education colleges affiliated with Manipur University during the academic year 2023-24 responded to a set of self-administered questionnaires comprising Study Habits developed by Mukhopadhyay and Sansanwal (2015) and Attitude Towards Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) developed by the researcher. For analysing and interpreting the test scores, percentage and Pearson’s Product Moment Coefficient of Correlation to see the relationship between the variables. All the statistical treatments have been done with IBM SPSS Statistics Version 22 software. The results revealed that the maximum number of B.Ed. student teachers fall under the category of moderate level of attitude, with 378 (63.00%). The maximum number of B.Ed. student teachers fall under the category of moderate study habits, with 233 (38.83%). Increases in B.Ed. student teachers’ study habit statuses were correlated with increases in their attitude towards continuous internal assessment. In conclusion, future research may investigate the joint and relative contribution of other demographic variables of student teachers to predict their attitudes toward continuous internal assessment practices
Dynamics of Collaboration as an Effort to Develop a Sustainable Tourism Village: The perspective of Tri Hita Karana in Sangeh Tourism Village, Badung Regency

The tourism industry sometimes cannot play the economic role well because many stakeholders do not have good communication among important elements. The synchronization of various tourism sectors is the foundation to achieve tourism development. The purpose of this study is to analyze the dynamics of collaborative governance as an effort to develop a sustainable tourism village from the perspective of Tri Hita Karana. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. In real life, the researcher collected data by using techniques of observation, interviews, and document studies. The results of this study indicate that Sangeh tourism village development has involved the local community to support their economy. Sustainability mean does not only consider environmental issues or problems but also economic, social, cultural, quality, health, safety, and aesthetic issues which are interrelated with people's social conditions, like culture and customs stated in the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana

Green Marketing Magic: Fostering Lasting Brand Loyalty on Social Commerce Platform
Get PDFBrand loyalty is essential for long-term business success in today's mercilessly competitive economy. Businesses are increasingly using "green marketing" tactics to differentiate themselves and build relationships with environmentally conscientious customers in this competitive industry. This study intends to investigate the effect that green marketing strategies have on brand loyalty on social commerce brand pages. The participants in this study were Facebook users who made purchases using the platform's social commerce features. A standardised online questionnaire was used for the survey. A sampling method known as convenience sampling was utilised, and survey links were distributed across a range of pages and groups on Facebook in order to reduce the likelihood of bias. The research objectives were made explicit to participants, and a screening question was used to ensure a representative sample. The results of this investigation highlight the importance of perceived value and quality as powerful mediators associated with the relationship between green marketing and brand loyalty. On the other hand, it was discovered that Brand Attitude and Consumer Trust marginally but significantly mediate the connection between Green Marketing and Brand Loyalty. The social commerce platforms offer a flexible setting for showcasing a wide range of items and services. Innovative and engaging methods of showcasing eco-friendly items, such as 360-degree product views, virtual try-ons, or immersive storytelling, can improve consumers' perceptions of the product's value and quality. This approach shows potential, especially with environmentally sensitive consumers who frequently look for in-depth information and first-hand interaction when making decisions. While previous studies have shed light on the association between green marketing and brand loyalty, this research paper contributes to the field by investigating the mechanisms and mediating elements that contribute to this connection in the ever-changing world of social commerce
