    No full text
This 25-page report, published by Beijing Information Science and Technology University, describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the G_Robot Team for the Telepresence Explorer Class of the 2022 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout. The report begins with an abstract introducing G_Robot and their ROV. Following the abstract is an analysis of the construction of the team's ROV, discussing the design rationale (concepts and restraints), mechanical design (design process, stability analysis, etc.), hardware design (power supply and connection), software design (control systems, image extractions, etc.), and ROV components (robotic arm, vision system, etc.). The report also covers safety, logistics, conclusions, and acknowledgments. The following appendixes are included: SID (systems integration diagram), Safety Checklist, and Budget Sheet and Actual Cost Sheet.Manuals for each competition class and technical reports from other teams are available to view separately

MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout. The report begins with an abstract introducing Deep Dive Dragon and their ROV. Following the abstract is the product introduction section, which provides rationale around the ROV's design and introduces the ROV in greater depth. The report then covers the overall design scheme, project management, a detailed design scheme, mission specific ROV implements, team analysis, safety, acknowledgments, and references. The following appendices are included: Proposed Budget, Cost Projection, Operation and Construction Safety Checklist, and Electronics Troubleshooting Checklist.Manuals for each competition class and technical reports from other teams are available to view separately

MATE ROV Competition 2022: Ranger Class Manual

    No full text
This 75-page manual, from the Marine Advanced Technology Education Center, was provided to those competing in the Ranger Class at the MATE ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) 2022 competition. Every year, the "competition challenges students to build a ROV to tackle tasks based on the real world." The competition is divided into the following competition classes: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout. These classes are "based on the level of complexity required to build the vehicle." For 2022, participants of each competition class were challenged to design and build ROVs to complete tasks relating to the three following categories: Marine Renewable Energy, Offshore Aquaculture and Blue Carbon, and The Antarctic Then and Now – Endurance22 and MATE Floats! This manual provides all the rules, requirements, and guidelines for teams competing in the Ranger Class of the competition. A table of contents and the following sections are included: Overview, Product Demonstration, Product Demonstration Prop Building Instructions and Photos, Vehicle Design and Building Specifications, Competition Rules, Engineering and Communication, and Submission Guidelines and Key Deadlines.Additional manuals and competitor technical reports from the 2022 MATE ROV competition are available to view separately

    Drone Business Plan Competition

    No full text
This 17-page report, published by Northland Community and Technical College, provides an overview of The Northland Drone Business Plan Competition (BPC), an entrepreneurship bootcamp focused on generating interest among traditionally underrepresented communities in the emerging drone industry ecosystem. The bootcamp was a part of the National Center for Autonomous Technologies' 2022 Experience STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) event and lasted three days with a cohort of 12 students. The report provides a schedule of each day of the bootcamp and walks through student activities in narrative form, highlighting points where the event was successful. Also included in the report are marketing and outreach techniques for the program, lessons learned for future planning, and past examples of similar bootcamps, which helped inform the BPC's development
