CWRUbotix: Technical Report
This 25-page report, published by Case Western Reserve University, describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the CWRUbotix team for the Explorer Class of the 2023 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout.The report begins with an abstract introducing CWRUbotix and their ROV. Following the abstract, the report discusses aspects of safety and project management. Then the report provides an analysis of the construction of the team's ROV, including mechanical design (frame, fry cage, etc.), electrical design (power conversion and distribution, electrics bay, etc.), and software design (software architecture, surface computer, etc.). A systems integration diagram (SID) and the following appendices are included: Safety Checklists, Mission Layout and Planning, Budget, Gantt Chart, Acknowledgements, and References.Manuals for each class and technical documentation from other teams are available to view separately
Coral Crusaders: Technical Report
This 22-page report describes the design and construction of the underwater remotely operated vehicle (ROV) created by the Coral Crusaders team for the Ranger Class of the 2023 MATE ROV competition. MATE ROV is a global competition that challenges STEM students to build underwater ROVs to complete challenges. The competition is split into the following classes based on build complexity: Explorer, Ranger, Pioneer, Navigator, and Scout.The report begins with an abstract introducing the Coral Crusaders and their ROV. It then covers company information, safety, the mission theme, project management, and system integration diagrams (SIDs). Next, the report includes an analysis of the team's ROV, highlighting tether, control box, video system, tools, flotation, propulsion, and safety features. Also covered are challenges, lessons, future improvements, acknowledgments, and references.Manuals for each competition class and technical reports from other teams are available to view separately
Fiber Optic Splicing & Testing Procedures: Course Outcome Summary and Syllabus
