    AKTIVITAS LUTUNG JAWA (Trachypithecus auratus) DI BLOK PANANDAAN, TAMAN NASIONAL GUNUNG CIREMAI

    Langurs (Trachypithecus auratus) is one of the protected primate species and knowledge about the daily activities of langurs is very necessary in preserving the population. This study aims to determine the activities of Javan langurs in the Panandaan Block, Gunung Cirermai National Park. The method used was scan sampling for moving, resting, social, eating and other activities, within predetermined time intervals. Data analysis was carried out quantitatively and descriptively to describe all types of daily activities of Javan langurs. Research has recorded as many as 23 individual langurs. Of the five activity categories observed, the activity with the highest proportion was locomotion with a percentage of 27.6% and the lowest activity was eating, namely 22%. The proportion that is not too far between the largest and smallest proportions indicates that the time spent on each activity is relatively even. The results of this research can help in preserving langur populations, especially groups that occupy locations bordering owned land

Pohon Bidara Medika sejak bulan Februari 2019 hingga Juni 2019.Metode yang digunakan adalah Analisa SWOT dengan melihat potensi serta prospek Pohon Bidara Medika dimasa depan. Penilaian berdasarkan Internal dan eksternal faktor PT. Pohon Bidara Medika melalui pertanyaan yang disebarkan berdasarkan indikator kekuatan (Strenghts), Kelemahan (Weakness), Kesempatan (opportunities) dan ancaman (threats).Hasil penelitian ini dijelaskan bahwa strategi yang digunakan adalah strategi agresif atau strategi S-O (Kwadran I).     Molecular Docking of Brassicasterol Inhibition from Green Mustard Plant (Brassica Chinensis Var. Parachinensis) with Cytochrome P450 in Treating Chagas Disease

    The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of brassicasterol found in mustard greens as a cytochrome P450 inhibitor using a computational approach. The research method involved the use of various software such as PyRx, Pymol, Protein Plus, Protein Data Bank (PDB), and Lipinski's rule to analyze the molecular interactions and physicochemical characteristics of brassicasterol. The analysis results showed that brassicasterol has a significant affinity for cytochrome P450, with binding affinity values reaching -8.5, -8.4, and -8.2. RMSD analysis also showed that the brassicasterol-cytochrome P450 complex showed good stability, with RMSD values ranging from 0 to 2.832. The use of Protein Plus software illustrated the interaction between brassicasterol and cytochrome P450, while Lipinski analysis showed that brassicasterol meets the expected physicochemical criteria to be a chagas disease drug candidate, such as a molecular mass of 353, having one hydrogen bond donor and acceptor, and having a log P of 2.2 and a molar reactivity of 99.08. These findings provide new insights into therapeutic development in treating chagas disease using mustard green extract and brassicasterol as a cytochrome P450 inhibitor, but further study is needed to verify the potential of brassicasterol as a chagas disease drug

In the food industry, betalains are used as natural colorants due to their color stability and health benefits, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that support the prevention of degenerative diseases. With increasing demand for natural ingredients, betalains are also being promoted in the cosmetics and health product industries. In the healthy food sector, new extraction techniques like microwave-assisted extraction and aqueous two-phase technology have improved the purification efficiency and quality of betalain pigments. In cosmetics, betalains are utilized as anti-aging and anti-inflammatory components, with innovative approaches like biopolymer encapsulation to enhance product stability. Geographical trends show significant interest in betalain use in natural cosmetics and healthy foods in Europe and Asia, while research in Latin America focuses on its potential as a supplement and food colorant. In renewable energy technology, betalains act as photosensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), though their stability still requires optimization, such as through co-sensitization with other pigments. These innovations suggest that betalains hold considerable potential in the food, cosmetics, and energy industries, making them a versatile and globally relevant natural material

    The Bogor Regency dairy cattle livestock business area (KUNAK) is in Cibungbulang District, one of the livestock areas, and the product is cow's milk. The cow's milk produced is sold directly to consumers or milk producers. The selling value of fresh cow's milk is lower than processed cow's milk, and fresh cow's milk has the risk of being easily damaged, resulting in losses for farmers. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to assist farmers in handling their processed milk production by making yogurt for the Cattle Farmers Group (KTTSP). The approach is in the form of an initial survey regarding partner problems, formulating solutions, providing assistance, and analyzing the partner's level of understanding. This community service activity results in an increase in partners' knowledge of dairy products and how to make them before and after the activity. Apart from that, partners can also increase the selling value of pure cow's milk through processed products in the form of yogurt with a delicious taste and attractive packaging, thereby increasing the selling value of the product

    Lignocellulose comprises three biopolymers, cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin that form a complex composite structure. Cellulose, as a biopolymer possesses notable properties including biocompatibility, biodegradability and economic viability. Gunung Kidul, one of the areas in Indonesia, precisely in Yogyakarta, where the population is known to live as cocoa farmers, so the potential for cocoa husks production is quite large. One way to obtain cellulose is by extracting the cacao husks from Gunung Kidul Cocoa Fermentation Center. Cellulose extraction were carried out through two main stages: alkaline delignification and bleaching. Based on the FTIR characterization results, the cocoa skins from Gunung Kidul Fermentation Center have the potential to separate cellulose from lignin and hemicellulose, which is shown in the presence of the function groups O-H, CH2, and C=O. So, the study aimed to get the optimum condition of the cellulose through several variations of the alkaline (NaOH and KOH), and the type of bleaching reagent (NaOCl and H2O2). The concentration of H2O2 (10%, 20%, 30% and 40%). The potential for cellulose can be developed and modified into nanocellulose in the future perspective

    Karakter Fisik Umbi Beberapa Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium ascaloncium L.)

    This study aimed to analyze the various physical characteristics of the bulbs of several shallot varieties, which are widely developed in Indonesia. The various characteristics of shallot bulbs are essential to know. This research was conducted from May to June 2023 at the Teaching Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, Makassar, South Sulawesi. The study was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD). Seven varieties of onions are the object of research namely Sanren F1 F1, Lokana, Rubaru, Ambassador 3 Agrihorti, Violetta 2 Agrihorti, Kramat 1 1, dan Mentes . Sampling was done randomly on each treatment plot. The number of bulbs sampled was 5 per variety in each replication. The parameters observed included equatorial diameter (cm), polar diameter (cm), bulb thickness (cm), average geometric diameter (cm), average arithmetic diameter (cm), bulb weight (g), and bulb volume (cm3), and shape index, then those parameters are calculated using formulas. The Lokana variety has the largest bulb size compared to other varieties. In general, the seven shallot varieties had equatorial diameters ranging from 2.03 to 3.02 cm, polar diameters ranging from 2.51 to 3.12 cm, bulb thickness ranging from 2.25 to 2.73 cm, bulb weights ranging from 6. 30 – 14.36 g, the volume between 7.60 – 26.27 cm3, geometric diameter between 2.29 – 2.95 cm, arithmetic diameter between 2.29 – 2.96 cm. The Lokana variety has greater physical characteristics than other varieties. Penelitian mengenai karakter fisik umbi bawang merah masih sangat terbatas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis berbagai karakter fisik dan geometrikal umbi beberapa varietas bawang merah yang banyak dikembangkan di Indonesia. Berbagai karakter dari umbi bawang merah menjadi penting untuk diketahui. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan bulan Mei hingga Juni 2023, di Teaching Farm, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, Sulawesi Selatan, pada ketinggian 9 mdpl.  Penelitian disusun dalam rancangan acak kelompok (RAK). Tujuh varietas bawang yang menjadi objek penelitian yaitu Sanren F1 F1, Lokana, Rubaru, Ambassador 3 Agrihorti, Violetta 2 Agrihorti, Kramat 1 1, dan Mentes. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak pada setiap petakan perlakuan. Jumlah umbi yang dijadikan sampel sebanyak 5 buah per varietas pada setiap ulangan. Parameter yang diamati meliputi diameter equitorial (cm), diameter polar (cm), tebal umbi (cm), rata-rata diameter geometrik (cm), rata-rata diameter aritmetika (cm), bobot umbi (g), volume umbi (cm3), dan indeks bentuk, lalu parameter tersebut dihitung menggunakan rumus. Varietas Lokana memiliki ukuran umbi yang paling besar, dibandingkan varietas lainnya. Tujuh varietas bawang merah memiliki diameter equitorial berkisar antara 2,03 – 3,02 cm, diameter polar antara 2,51 – 3,12 cm, ketebalan umbi antara 2,25 – 2,73 cm, bobot umbi antara 6,30 – 14,36 g, volume antara 7,60 – 26,27 cm3, diameter geometrik antara 2,29 – 2,95 cm, diameter aritmetik antara 2,29 – 2,96 cm.     PERENCANAAN JALUR INTERPRETASI BIRDWATCHING DI HUTAN LINDUNG ANGKE KAPUK, JAKARTA (Birdwatching Interpretive Trail Planning in Angke Kapuk Protected Forest, Jakarta)

    Birdwatching is a specialized ecotourism activity where visitors observe and photograph birds. It can serve as an educational tool for the conservation of birds. The aim of this research is to identify the diversity of bird species and create an interpretive trail for birdwatching in the Angke Kapuk Protected Forest area. Avenza Maps was used to record encountered bird species. Data on bird species diversity were analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, and encounter rates were calculated to determine the number of bird species observed within a specific time period. This data was then used to categorize the abundance of bird species. Data processing was done using QGIS 3.26.1 and Adobe Photoshop. The results of the Birdwatching Interpretive Trail Planning research identified a total of 30 bird species from 24 families. Three bird species were found to be protected under Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 106 of 2008, and one species was classified as Vulnerable according to the IUCN Red List. Bird species were categorized as Abundant (10 species), Frequent (3 species), Uncommon (8 species), and Rare (9 species). The research area had three trails with distances of 120 meters, 266 meters, and 200 meters. Some issues observed regarding trail conditions included damage to supports causing interruptions in some parts of Trail 3 and litter found on Trails 1 and 2

    Development of Aloe Vera-Based Desulfurization Method to Improve The Quality of Sumatra's Coal

    Coal is Indonesia's primary energy source, contributing approximately 65.5% to the total electricity production in 2021. The high sulfur gas emissions during the coal combustion have negatively impacted air quality and the surrounding ecosystem. Consequently, researchers have conducted numerous studies on reducing sulfur content in coal. This study specifically explores the impact of adding Aloe vera extract in desulfurization. Aloe vera contains saponin, a surfactant-like compound that can alter the surface properties of minerals in coal, making sulfur particles easier to eliminate. In the experiment, aloe vera extract was applied to coal with variations of 100, 200, and 300 mL. The mixture was stirred using a magnetic stirrer at 100 rpm for one hour. Subsequently, the coal was separated and analyzed for sulfur content, calorific value, and ash content. The research results indicated that adding Aloe vera extract significantly reduces sulfur content in coal, simultaneously improving the overall quality of the coal with a sulfur reduction ranging from 7% to 22%. Moreover, the process reduced the ash content in the coal. By harnessing the potential of Aloe vera as a natural desulfurizing agent, this study presents an innovative and environmentally friendly solution to mitigate hazardous gas emissions during coal combustion

    Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kantor Unit Pengelola Kegiatan Dana Amanah Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (UPK DAPM) Kecamatan Cigudeg pada bulan April sampai Agustus 2017. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan audit operasional pada kegiatan Simpana Pinjam Perempuan (SPP) dan untuk mengukur efisiensi, efektivitas dan keekonomisan kegiatan SPP. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Fokus dalam penelitian adalah struktur organisasi lembaga, kegiatan SPP, kriteria efisiensi, efektivitas, dan ekonomisasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan kegiatan SPP di Kecamatan Cigudeg yang dilaksanakan oleh badan pengawas (BP) UPK adalah ekonomis, efisien akan tetapi cukup efektif. Penerapan Audit operasional berkontribusi terhadap efisien, efektif dan keekonomisan  simpan pinjam perempua (SPP) setelah diadakan audit dengan terlihat dari pengukuran efiseinsinya dengan kriteria penilaian efisien dengan menekankan pada efisiensi biaya termasuk pemanfaatan peralatan atau inventaris, Pengukuran efektivitasnya dengan penilaian kriteria pada tahun 2013 kurang efektif dengan angka 82,53%. Pencapaian cukup efektif pada tahun 2014 dengan angka 90,69% dan kembali dengan penilaian kriteria yang kurang efektif dengan angka 82,22% pada tahun 2015. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa para pemanfaat kurang disiplin dalam membayar yang disebabkan mengalami kesulitan dalam membayar angsuran pinjaman sehingga pencapaian terget dalam pendapatan pinjaman tidak tercapai 100%
