    WORKSHOP PENGUATAN KOMPETENSI SISWA SMA DI KOTA PADANG MENUJU OLIMPIADE SAINS NASIONAL (OSN) IPA DAN MATEMATIKA TINGKAT NASIONAL

    The National Science Olympiad (OSN) is a prestigious event that involves the best students from various levels of education who have passed a rigorous selection at the district and provincial levels. One way to improve the quality of students in facing the OSN in Science and Mathematics is through structured coaching. The OSN Science and Mathematics Workshop held around the UNAND campus in Padang City is one such effort that has proven successful. The objectives of this workshop include three main aspects, namely improving the competence of high school students in basic science and mathematics, improving students' skills in solving OSN questions and improving the quality of high school education in Padang City. The workshop consisted of three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the planning stage, OSN questions from the previous year were collected to be used as learning materials. The implementation stage involved a series of activities, including a pre-test, structured learning through lectures, question simulations, and discussions using audiovisual aids. The evaluation was conducted through a post-test to measure the improvement of students' understanding after attending the workshop. The results of this workshop showed a significant increase in the understanding of students who had participated from 30% to 60%. This illustrates the effectiveness of a sustainable and structured approach in improving student competencies to face OSN competitions in Science and Mathematics. This workshop could become a model for efforts to improve the quality of education in schools around the campus. It can be an inspiration for other educational institutions. Salah satu cara meningkatkan kualitas siswa menghadapi OSN bidang IPA dan Matematika adalah melalui pembinaan terstruktur. Workshop OSN IPA dan Matematika yang diselenggarakan di sekitar kampus Universitas Andalas (UNAND) di Kota Padang adalah salah satu upaya yang telah terbukti berhasil. Tujuan dari workshop ini mencakup tiga aspek utama, yaitu meningkatkan kompetensi, keterampilan, dan mutu pendidikan siswa SMA dalam ilmu dasar IPA dan Matematika di Kota Padang. Workshop ini terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap perencanaan, soal-soal OSN dari tahun sebelumnya dikumpulkan sebagai bahan pembelajaran. Tahap pelaksanaan, dilakukan pre-test, ceramah, simulasi soal, dan diskusi dengan peralatan audiovisual. Evaluasi dilakukan post-test untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman siswa setelah workshop. Hasilnya, terjadi peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman soal OSN, yaitu dari 30% menjadi 60%. Hal ini menggambarkan efektivitas pendekatan berkelanjutan dan terstruktur dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa untuk menghadapi kompetisi OSN bidang IPA dan Matematika. Workshop semacam ini berpotensi menjadi model upaya peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di sekolah sekitar kampus dan dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi lembaga pendidikan lain.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis Pengaruh Good Corporate Governance dan Profitabilitas terhadap Nilai Perusahaan Studi Kasus pada Perusahaan Sektor Industri Semen yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2016–2019.     Modified Titanium Oxide with Metal Doping as Photocatalyst in Photochemical Water Splitting

    This article focuses on the modification of titanium oxide (TiO2) using metal doping to improve its photocatalytic activity in photochemical water splitting systems. TiO2 is a widely used photocatalyst, which has a wide band gap energy and rapid recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, thus reducing the efficiency of photochemical water splitting systems. Metal doping, such as Pt, Cu, Fe, and V metals can lower the band gap energy of the photocatalyst, increase the absorption of visible light, and reduce electron-hole recombination. Modified TiO2 shows promising results in photochemical water splitting, utilising a wider range of visible light from the solar spectrum thereby improving the efficiency of the photochemical water splitting system

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh green product, green price, green place, dan green promotion terhadap keputusan pembelian pada konsumen Tupperware Non-Member di JABODETABEK baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Metode analisis yang digunakan  adalah  regresi  linier  berganda  dengan  variabel  dependen  adalah keputusan pembelian, dan sebagai variabel independen adalah green product, green price, green place, dan green promotion. Hasil   penelitian menunjukkan bahwa green product, green price, green place, dan green promotion memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keputusan pembelian, baik secara parsial maupun simultan.  Dari empat variabel independen  tersebut, variabel green product mempunyai pengaruh yang paling dominan diantara variabel lainnya terhadap keputusan pembelian.. &nbsp

    Review: Effect of Material Characteristics, and Process Conditions in Reducing Gaseous Pollutants Using Fly Ash (FA)-Based Adsorbent

    The intensive use of fossil fuels has led to a significant increase in air pollution, which negatively affects human health and the environment. Fly ash (FA), a byproduct of coal combustion, has great potential as an adsorbent for hazardous gas pollutants due to its physical and chemical properties. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of fly ash as an adsorbent in reducing gas pollutants such as CO2, SO2, and NO2, as well as to examine the influence of temperature and material characteristics on adsorption capacity. The results indicate that the maximum adsorption capacity for each gas pollutant is achieved at different temperatures, fly ash demonstrating the highest performance at 150 °C for CO2 adsorption, achieving an efficiency of 94.7%. For SO2 and NO2, the optimum temperatures are 200 °C, with efficiencies of 72.17% and 100%, respectively. This study also emphasizes the importance of selecting the appropriate characteristics of the adsorbent material to enhance adsorption efficiency. This finding has the potential to support the development of more efficient and sustainable air pollution reduction technologies in the future, by utilizing industrial waste such as fly ash as an innovative solution

    ELEPHANT TUSKS AND BELIS TRADITION BY LAMAHOLOT COMMUNITY IN EAST NUSA TENGGARA, INDONESIA

    The unique dowry tradition in Indonesia is called “belis” with the raw elephant tusks where the origin is still a mystery and will certainly be controversial at this time because they are prohibited to be traded and used. The study was conducted in May-June 2022 in East Flores, Adonara and Lembata of East Nusa Tenggara province through semi-systematically interview method. It aimed at examining the belis and use of elephant tusks in belis tradition of Lamaholot community. Based on interviews to 101 respondents of key person including traditional leaders, the elephant tusks and the belis tradition have existed for hundred years ago and as a symbol as the glory of women and their high dignity. There were in the belis tradition three-furnace system which served as central point, coda form and dowry negotiation between male and female families. The local community still wanted to preserve the tradition, but it was desire to avoid the use of the ivory to reduce tradition cost. Until today, the Lamaholot community is in a dilemma of preserving the long living tradition of the ivory belis in which it is increasingly rare and the elephant conservation in Indonesia is getting more important

    The increase of people population is the main factor in the growth of an urban area. Population growth will be followed by increasing ecological, economic and social needs. Urban development tends to cause a decrease in the quantity and quality of Green Open Space. The Gelora Bung Karno Urban Forest, which is part of the Green Open Space in Jakarta, is a place visited by many people. The aim of this research is to determine the amount of oxygen produced by the Gelora Bung Karno Urban Forest in one year. The method for calculating oxygen yield that is applied is by comparing the uptake of carbon and oxygen produced from the photosynthesis process. The results of the research showed that there were 49 individuals from 6 types of trees, namely Trembesi (Samanea saman), Ketapang (Terminalia catappa), Coconut (Cocos nucifera), Pulai (Alstonia scholaris), Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus), Eboni (Diospyros celebica). Apart from that, the city forest land is also covered with grass covering an area of 1.5 Ha. Gelora Bung Karno Urban Forest produces oxygen produced is 13,082,272.80 kg/year or the equivalent of providing oxygen for 42,668 visitors. The largest contribution comes from grass with 12,264,000 kg/year. The contribution of the Gelora Bung Karno Urban Forest to the oxygen needs of Central Jakarta residents is 3.52% of the total population

    Compatibility Testing of Synthesized TiO2 Nanoparticles on The Fast-Growing Wood Physical Properties

    Jabon wood (Anthochepalus cadamba) has inferior quality, so it is necessary to modify the wood to improve the quality of its physical properties, namely by impregnating TiO2 nanoparticles (NP-TiO2). This study aims to determine the right synthesis method for the synthesis of NP-TiO2 so as to improve the quality of the physical properties of jabon wood optimally. The results of FTIR testing showed that jabon wood has successfully impregnated NP-TiO2 by hydrothermal and solvothermal methods with ethanol, acetone, and methanol solvents with the identification of the functional group of Ti-O at wavenumber 533 cm-1 and the Ti-O-Ti functional group at wavenumber 679 cm-1 which is the bond formed in the framework of the TiO2 compound. The results of the physical properties test showed that NP-TiO2 which was successfully impregnated into wood was synthesized using hydrothermal and solvothermal methods, namely acetone, methanol, and ethanol, with a WPG value of 1.36%, 2.6%, 2.16%, and 1.61%, respectively. XRD test results show that jabon wood has successfully impregnated NP-TiO2 by hydrothermal and solvothermal methods using acetone, ethanol, and methanol solvents with the identification of anatase TiO2 crystal lattice and crystal sizes of 16.21, 15.94, 14.27, dan 15.75 nm, respectively

    DIVERSIFIKASI DAN PEMASARAN PRODUK BUAH PALA KELOMPOK USAHA WARGA DESA SIRNAGALIH KECAMATAN TAMAN SARI KABUPATEN BOGOR

    Nowadays, one of the problems concerning the government is poverty. Sirnagalih Village, located in Taman Sari sub-district of Bogor Regency, is known for its local superior commodity, nutmeg. According to the statistical data of Bogor district plantations in 2017, Taman Sari sub-district produced 63,212 kilograms of nutmeg on a land area of 20.36 hectares. In order to identify the problems, the working methods of the community are based on field surveys and observation. The stages involved in the empowerment of local nutmeg processing business actors in Sirnagalih village are programme preparation through forum group discussion (FGD) between nutmeg farmers, village authorities and community leaders. When compiling and implementing the programme, it is important to follow a structured approach. This involves problem assessment, training, technical guidance, mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, and workshops. The conclusion of this activity is empowerment of small entrepreneurs through diversification of nutmeg processed products, through this community empowerment programme has brought benefits to nutmeg processed small entrepreneurs and local governments. However, there are still several barriers to overcome such as limited access to capital, lack of proper accounting and inadequate financial reporting. Therefore, it is advisable for the nutmeg business entrepreneurs to market the nutmeg processed products with a wider range and access to capital is important for the nutmeg business entrepreneurs in the developing their business both from the aspects of production, marketing and human resources. Menurut Data Statistik Perkebunan Kabupaten Bogor tahun 2017, Kecamatan Taman Sari menghasilkan 63.212 kilogram pala dari lahan seluas 20,36 hektar. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh pelaku kelompok usaha petani pala ini adalah kelompok usaha petani pala ini belum bisa melakukan diversifikasi produk olahan pala. Mereka hanya bisa menghasilkan produk manisan pala. Permasalahan lainnya adalah dari segi pemasarannya, pelaku kelompok usaha petani pala ini belum bisa memasarkan produknya secara online, sehingga pembelinya masih berkisar di Desa Sirnagalih saja. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah membantu kelompok usaha petani pala untuk melakukan diversifikasi produk berupa sirup pala dan membatu kelompok usaha petani pala tersebut untuk dapat melakukan pemasaran secara online. Metode yang dilakukan adalah observasi lapangan. Tahapan-tahapan yang terlibat dalam pemberdayaan pelaku usaha pengolahan pala lokal di Desa Sirnagalih adalah persiapan program melalui diskusi kelompok forum (FGD) antara petani pala, aparat desa, dan pemimpin masyarakat. Saat menyusun dan melaksanakan program tersebut, sangatlah penting untuk melakukan pendekatan yang terstruktur karena melibatkan penilaian masalah, pelatihan, panduan teknis, pembimbingan, pemantauan dan evaluasi, serta lokakarya. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah pemberdayaan kelompok pelaku usaha petani pala melalui diversifikasi produk olahan pala berupa sirup pala. Melalui program pemberdayaan masyarakat ini, telah memberikan manfaat kepada kelompok pelaku usaha petani pala dan pemerintah lokal. Namun, masih ada beberapa hambatan yang perlu diatasi seperti keterbatasan modal, kurangnya pencatatan yang tepat, dan pelaporan keuangan yang tidak memadai. Oleh karena itu, disarankan bagi kelompok pelaku usaha petani pala untuk memasarkan produk olahan pala dengan jangkauan yang lebih luas.     In addition to providing benefits, mining activities can result in physical, chemical, biological and marginal changes for plant growth. Criteria of plants used for revegetation of land mines are rapidly growing in the neighborhood marginal, allowing other types of grow on the land, producing fruits that are easily spread by birds, and producing a litter easier undergoing decomposition. This research aims to know the biodiversity and natural vegetation types of suitability identification for revegetation land post-mining tin. Observation of post-mining land was carried out to identify the physical and chemical properties of the soil and the type, density, and distribution of vegetation in the observation plots. Analysis of the suitability of vegetation types with rehabilitation land refers to the criteria in Permenhut No P.4/Menhut-II/2011 with modifications. Soil texture on former tin mining land was dominated by sand, is acidic, and has low nutrients. There were 35 types of plants found, ten species of trees and three types of shrubs among them, which have the potential to be used in revegetating post-tin mining land, namely. i.e., the Acacia mangium, Syzygium buxifolium, Syzygium racemosum Blume, Schima wallichii, Trema orientalis, Eugenia sp., Alstonia angustifolia, Ficus padana, Alstonia scholaris, Vitex pinnata L, Syzygium sp, Melastoma malabthricum dan Melastoma polyanthum
