    Explored Jordanian Math Teacher’s Practices, and Belief Change in implementing mobile applications in education

    The aim of This study explored Jordanian math teachers’ beliefs, practices, and belief change in implementing mobile applications in education Learning mathematics is a major focus of educational institutions at all levels and technology has long been an important teaching tool in the field of mathematics. Multiple sources of qualitative data were generated including metaphors, lesson plans and interviews with 17 math teachers. Although teachers considered Implementing mobile applications in education as an effective method that benefit student learning and they demonstrated progress in changing their beliefs moving from subject to didactic dimension through Implementing mobile applications in education, their practices remained partially aligned with their perceived belief changes. This discrepancy could be attributed to several encountered challenges, including teachers’ lack of confidence, difficulty in facilitating student collaboration, structural constraints, additional workload, and the lack of school and peer support. Results suggest the need for different types of “problems†and approaches such as more direct instruction, and higher feasibility in teachers’ autonomy when Implementing mobile applications in education. Outcome of this study has a few implications. First, discrepancy between belief and practice of implementing mobile applications. identified in this study suggests that appropriate and sufficient professional development activities are needed. The MOE and schools in Jordan should further articulate policy goals and standards that facilitate student-centered approaches for teachers.     The Adiwiyata Islamic Boarding School Management (A Study of Participatory Leadership Style)

    In Aceh Province, Dayah Perbatasan Darul Amin is an Islamic Boarding school institution that has twice had achievement as the cleanest and healthiest boarding school as part of adiwiyata-based education institution concept. Such achievement by the Islamic boarding school can inspire and terminate a syndrome that a boarding house is a slump, dirty and unhealthy place. Also, it can change the public paradigm that boarding school is a very representative place to study. This research analyzes the Islamic boarding school management model in implementing the adiwiyata concept through participative leadership. The research approach paradigm is the qualitative one. The research used a diary method (DM). This article is an experience of Darul Amin Islamic Boarding School in implementing the adiwiyata program by implementing an effective Islamic boarding school. Results of the research show that adiwiyata program management is conducted through participative leadership, namely (1) formulation of adiwiyata Islamic boarding school, (2) building intern consolidation, (3) implementation of cleanliness management, (4) procurement of necessary infrastructure, (5) program evaluation and (6) organizational development. All elements' active contribution in realizing the adiwiyata Islamic boarding school can improve students' characteristics to live clean and love their environment. The participative leadership of the Kyai is proven to be able to improve the effectiveness of adiwiyata Islamic boarding school management

    Education Post Covid-19 Pandemic: Teachers and Learners Construction

    The Covid-19 pandemic concequences in all of human aspect. Education is one of the main aspect that have to adapt from classical learning into virtual model. This condition that already happens at least 2 years bring various responses from both teachers and learners’ perspectives. This study reveals teachers and learner’s construction regarding education post Covid-19 pandemic. This reseacrh is qualitative by descriptive method. Furthermore, this study was conducted by distributing online questionnaires from 5 provinces respondents in Indonesia involving 40 teachers and 28 learners. The results of this study show that commonly, teacher get lack of technology and prefer to implement blended learning than pure vifrtual learning. From the students side, can be found that; e-learning has not fully accommodated some educational values that can transmitted through classical learning process only and blended learning is the suitable learning model for future education. Furthermore, this study recomend to identify the suitable blended learning model for sustainability of future education in every level education

    Exploring the English Needs of Mechanical Engineering Students in ESP Class: Indonesian University Context

    English for Specific Purposes in tertiary level puts its importance to Need Analysis (NA) process for syllabus design. This present research is concerned with designing ESP syllabus for Mechanical Engineering students in tertiary level through need analysis. The research aims to identify the immediate needs of the Mechanical Engineering students and design appropriated syllabus based on students’ needs using Target Situation Analysis (TSA) and Present Situation Analysis (PSA). In order to achieve the research’s objectives, a questionnaire was administered to a total 50 respondents. The finding of the research shows that among 4 basic English skills, listening skill emerged as the most important skill that students’ really need, followed by speaking, reading, and writing. Thus, this research suggests that ESP teachers should design more varied activities on listening course that students will have the competence to apply the skills later in future life context

    The Tajweed Competencies of TPQ Teachers and Their Influence on BTQ Learning Outcomes

    This study was motivated by the importance of Tajweed to be mastered by a Muslim in learning and reciting the Qur'an, especially for TPQ teachers. However, based on certification test results, the Tajweed competencies of TPQ teachers were very diverse. Based on this reality, researchers had the interest to conduct an in-depth study on Tajweed competencies of TPQ teachers and their influence on BTQ learning outcomes. This study aimed to find out Tajweed competencies of TPQ teachers and their influence on BTQ learning outcomes in TPQ. This study used qualitative and quantitative approaches (mixed methods). The study was conducted on 7 TPQ teachers and heads as well as 20 TPQ students in Lamposi Tigo Nagari Sub-District Payakumbuh City West Sumatra. Data were collected through interviews, observation, documentation study, and written tests. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis, namely data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, as well as quantitative analysis on BTQ learning outcomes in TPQ using Microsoft Excel 2007. Based on the results, firstly, practically, all TPQ teachers in Latina Payakumbuh City. mastered the Tajweed, but theoretically, not all TPQ teachers understood certain terms and rules. Second, BTQ learning activities were not evaluated in a clear and measurable manner. Third, BTQ learning outcomes showed the insignificant influence of the Tajweed competencies on BTQ learning outcomes. The Tajweed competencies of TPQ teachers only had a 19.38% influence on BTQ learning outcomes, while the remaining 80.62% was influenced by other factor

    Integrating Science and Religion at Malaysian and Indonesian Higher Education

    This article analyzes the integration model between science and religion in Malaysian and Indonesian Higher Education. So far, the dichotomy of science and religion is considered to be one of the causes for the exit of the Islamic world from the Western world. In this century, educational institutions in the Islamic world began to re-select the integration pattern of science. This study uses qualitative methods, by collecting data through observation, visiting two higher education institutions studied, and conducting in-depth interviews with relevant parties, namely the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in Malaysia and Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) in Indonesia. Data collection is also done by searching documents and referral sources in various data sources available online. From the research conducted, it was found that, integration carried out by Islamic universities in Malaysia and Indonesia was to open faculties and study programs without any religious or public claims. Everything is the same, and there are no restrictions on the rules for students based on religion to enter into it. So, education is inclusive, it can be for anyone. This model succeeded in advancing Islamic educational institutions

    Impact of Visiting the Jurnal Pendidikan IPA Indonesia Website to the Author's Knowledge

    The research objective is to reveal the knowledge of people who have visited the Jurnal Pendidikan IPA Indonesia (JPII) website about articles with international standards. The instruments used were questionnaires and interviews which were conducted a feasibility test before being used. The strategy employed was sequential explanatory by collecting and analyzing quantitative data followed by qualitative data. The articles of the participants were still unassigned and submitted from July to August 2020. The number of participants was 85 consisting of 78 lecturers, 4 students, and 3 teachers. The research results from questionnaire analysis were; the participants’ intention of visiting the JPII website as 53% to cite articles, the benefit that obtained was 69% getting references, the most interesting part of 62% was the results and discussion, the substance primacy of 35% was in the discussion section, and participants find it easiest to find novelties in the discussion section of 53%. The interview results with 79 participants (93%) stated that they had gained knowledge about international standard articles that had these characteristics; interesting topics, strong gap analysis, methods that are detailed and have novelty, and discussion that has a clear novelty

    The Correlation between Lecturers’ Performance in Supervising Thesis and Thesis Quality in IAIN Palu

    This article aims to determine lecturers’ performance in supervising thesis with thesis quality of students of Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training IAIN Palu. This is a quantitative study investigating 285 students of Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training IAIN Palu. who had finished their thesis examinations in 2020 by using proportional sampling technique? The data collection techniques were surveys, observation, interview and documentation. The results showed that the performance of the lecturers in supervising the thesis was in good category with an average (mean) score of 79.79 and the quality of the thesis was in the good category with the average score (mean) of 81.16. There is a significant correlation between the performance of the lecturer in supervising the thesis and the thesis quality of the students

    Transformational Leadership: Principal Intellectual Stimulation In Improving Teacher Competences

    Various efforts have been made to improve teacher competence, but there are still many institutions that have not optimized teacher capacity development. This study examines the intellectual stimulation of principals in improving teacher competence in two favorite institutions in the East Java region of SDI Qurrota A'yun Tulungagung and MI Perwanida Blitar. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a multi-case study design. Data were collected through 16 teachers and one school committee, one student guardian, one community leader, and one employee determined by random purposive sampling. Information was obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation. The results of this study indicate the role of leaders in forming various teacher competency improvement programs; (a) Program in-service education. The leader delegates teachers to improve professional and pedagogical competencies, which consist of advanced study programs, equivalency studies, Teacher Professional Education (PPG), (b) Program in-service training. Leaders delegate teachers to improve pedagogical and professional competencies through training activities, seminars, workshops, and webinars. (c) Leaders conducted program on-service training as a facility to improve teacher competence, (1) Supervision Activities and Teacher Working Groups (KKG), (2) teachers are actively competing, (3) actively writing papers, (4) collaboration activity, (5) social service activities, (6) religious activity (7) Job rotation, (8) Curriculum integration according to the institution's development distinction, (9) Technology-based learning

    Message Design of Printed and Digital Material to Meaningful Learning

    This article reports on research a message design of printed and digital message in Learning Theory course at Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP). Survey was conducted to collect data on the utilization of instructional materials by students who ware active in the semester in January-June. The results indicated that the print instructional materials written by lecturers have started to consider the design principles message, but still needs to be improved. That principle has not been carried out for digital teaching materials.
