New Students' Self-Adjustment at Ar-Risalah Islamic Junior High School: Roles and Supporting Factors
The purpose of this research is to determine teachers’ roles in improving students' self-adjustment and its supporting factors at Ar-Risalah Islamic Junior High School, Padang, Indonesia. This is qualitative descriptive research with data collected from teachers, students, principals, and other school officials through interview, observation, and documentation. The data collected were analyzed using reduction and triangulation processes. The result showed that the teacher had expertise as a motivator to support and trigger the student enthusiasm in adapting and learning new materials at school. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors of the self-adjustment process were parents that have not been able to let their children go to boarding schools and teachers without psychological backgrounds, because this background are needed for better approach and intervention for children to make them enthusiasm in learning in boarding schoo
Developing Jurisprudential Inquiry Based Learning Model of Teaching Fiqh at Madrasah Tsanawiyah
Learning is the most significant activity in education. Through learning activities, the goals of education are achieved. Students’ success in learning mostly depends on their mastery to learn independently and on how they manage their study. The research aims to develop learning model at Madrasah Tsanawiyah, to make the learning process triggers students to be more creative and study better. The method used in the research refers to the nature of Research and Development. The steps of the study are preliminary study, development, and product test. The study found that the development of a jurisprudential inquiry-based learning model for learning Fiqh helps students to improve their learning outcomes. The model has significantly proven effective to support students’ behavior change, thus their achievement increases
Instrumentalization vs Instrumentation of Microlearning in a Math Class
The study aims to innovate the teaching and learning process of mathematics with a group of elementary school students from a rural population of Colombia, where the use of information and communications technology resources, as well as internet access in limited. The teachers implement microlearning so that children learn to solve arithmetic problems. The experience is descriptive with a non-probabilistic convenience sampling, developed from the creation and application of a virtual learning object whose pedagogical strategy was the use of microlearning. The study shows that the use of information and communications technology resources assist the students to learn mathematics. Competency Characteristics of Graduates Viewed from User Satisfaction Using Nonhierarchical Clusters
This study aims to classify graduates based on the similarity of competency characteristics by referring to the indicators of graduate user satisfaction. The indicators are implementation of Islamic values; integrity, ethics, and morals; expertise based on knowledge (professionalism); foreign language skills; ability to use ICT; communication; teamwork; and self-development. The survey was aimed at graduates of five study programs totaling 211 people. Determination of respondents using the purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through a questionnaire containing statements about the eight indicators. Data analysis uses descriptive and multivariate statistics with the non-hierarchical cluster method or K-Means cluster analysis, assisted with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) software. The results show that based on the similarity of competency characteristics, graduates are grouped into three clusters, namely Cluster 1 with 13.27% with characteristics of graduates with low competence, Cluster 2 with 32.7% with characteristics of graduates with high competence, and Cluster 3 with 54.03% with the characteristics of graduates with moderate competence. Thus, a strategic program that is systematic, comprehensive, and continuous is needed to develop human resources to shape the quality mentality and competence of students and to be competitive with students and by the needs of the workforce or users. The Effect of Online Lecture on College Students’ Learning Achievement During the Covid-19 Pandemic
College student learning achievement shows a reflection of mastery of knowledge both in quality and quantity which is influenced by several factors. This study was conducted to determine the influence of lecturers' teaching factors, interactive media, and learning motivation on college student learning achievement during the Covid-19 pandemic. The approach used in the reseach is quantitative with 50 college students from three different universities as reseach subjects. Data were collected through a questionnaire instrument google form by method simple random sampling or randomly selected. Then analyzed using multiple logistic regression analysis technique with the help of SPSS for windows. This study shows the results that the teaching of lecturer has no effect on increasing college student learning achievement, but interactive media and learning motivation have a positive effect on college student learning achievement. This study recommends further research to examine the effect of lecturer competence on online lectures during the Covid-19 pandemic

This research aims to describe the problems are how the position, condition, standardization, accusation, and protection of Islamic institutions higher education to services customer’s or student in Indonesia and how is learning system and developing science in this age and challenges facing Islamic institution of higher education and the expectations and strategies to deal accretion. The method uses library research, observation to document, literature, discussion, and interview with experts about LPTI. The research finding is the 21st century is the age globalization. It takes to impact on interdependencies, competition, and advances in science, information and communication technology on institution of Islamic higher education. Interdependention describe the something happened in a country correlated with other country. This condition has to change of paradigm at management of institution higher education that the society make it is corporate has to protects and the best accusation and quickly services to customers. Students’ Self-Adjustment with Boarding School Environment in MAN Insan Cendekia Lubuk Alung
This research aims to describe and compare the self-adjustment of boarding school students with the school environment in terms of gender (comparative descriptive study of students at MAN Insan Cendekia Lubuk Alung, West Sumatra). This type of research is descriptive-comparative with a questionnaire instrument. The population of all students of class X, sampling with purposive random sampling technique in order to obtain a sample of 82 students. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis, and to test the differences used t test. The results showed that in general the self-adjustment of boarding school students with the school environment of MAN Insan Cendekia Lubuk Alung, West Sumatra was classified high and there was a significance difference from the self-adjustment of male and female students. Therefore, school counselors can provide various types of counseling and guidance services to students of MAN Insan Cendekia Lubuk Alung, West Sumatra so that they are able to overcome difficulties in their self-adjustment by fostering self-confidence and training students how to adapt to the new environment and atmosphere in accordance with the rule
Discovery Learning Model on Mathematics Learning at Islamic Private Junior High School Darussalam
The study aims to determine whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students who learn discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. It also aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and low initial abilities with discovery learning are better than students who learn conventionally. This type of research is a Quasi Experiment with quantitative approach design and used was a randomized control group only design with treatment by blocks. The population in this study were students of class VII Â Islamic private junior high school or MTsS Darussalam Ampiang Parak, Sutera Sub District, Pesisir Selatan. The research sample was randomly selected,namely students of class VII.1 as the experimental class and VII.2 as the control class. The research data were obtained from the results of the initial ability test and the final test given after the experiment was carried out. Data analysis using t test.The results of the analysis show that: 1) The mathematics learning outcomes of students with discovery learning model are better than those taught by conventional learning, 2) Mathematics learning outcomes of students with high initial abilities and students with low initial abilities with discovery learning learning models of learning arebetter than students with high initial abilities. taught by conventionallearning. Classroom Assessment for EFL Learning to Speak at Junior high School
The present study investigated the current practice of EFL Classroom assessment focusing on speaking skills in Junior High School. Speaking Assessment is a tool used to evaluate students’ oral skills in the formal system by the English teachers. The investigation of classroom speaking assessment in this school was based on its effectiveness in light of alternative assessment tool and pedagogical values. By using ADDIE model, we constructed an oral assessment in accordance with the needs and levels of students as well as components on the oral assessment. There were five commons models such as Oral Interview, Role Play, Guessing Games, Story Telling and Oral Report that are communicative, relevant, continues, simple and various forms. These models can be used to assess students’ speaking skills regardless of time and place as its validity and practicality tests appeared to be high (93.75 and 87.5). It can be concluded that these assessment models are applicable for teachers to assess students’ speaking skill. The paper further elaborates discussion on the utilizing of students’ ability, progress, and their learning process. In short, it is a high time for the teachers to apply these models in the classroom
Techniques of Using Intertextuality and Lecturer-Students’ Power Relation when Communicating Learning Tasks
Considering the students’ emotion is essential in having the students to learn. Most Minangkabaunese students do not like being dictated for any activities with a thousand words. This paper is aimed at finding out some techniques of using intertextuality to balance lecturer-students’ power relations when communicating learning tasks. This research is qualitative with content analysis. Data were collected from six lecturers, teaching at Sekolah Tinggi Keguruandan Ilmu Pendidikan, Persatuan Guru Republik Indonesia (STKIP PGRI), selected purposively. Techniques of observation and video recording were used in collecting data. The discourse was transcribed and categorized into some techniques of using examples based on the content called content analysis.A contextual analysis was used to show lecturer-students’ power relations and formulated proposition.  Findings show that the techniques of using intertextuality includeShowing Techniques of Doing Tasks (STDT), Giving Example of the Task Topic (GETT), and UERS. Using STDT had an impact on students’ readiness to learn. Meanwhile, Using GETT enhances students’ language development. Finally, Using Example of Real Situations (UERS) gives students’ opportunity to have a learning experience. Moreover, the techniquescause the lecturer and students to have a balanced power relation. The findings are significant for teachers or lecturers as guidance to communicate with students efficiently and effectively. They are expected not to dominate communication when interacting with them, especially to those who have excessive individualism. Other researchers who are interested in studying this topic are expected to be inspired to research this area viewed from other viewpoints
