THE EFFICACY APPLICATION OF PAIKEM GEMBROT STRATEGY IN LEARNING ARABIC IN DIGITAL ERA
This study aims to show how the strategies of teachers and all related elements in increasing students' motivation and understanding of Arabic in the digital era. This study examines the efficacy of this strategy in improving Arabic comprehension by adapting it to the digital era, also integrating digital technology by learning applications. The method used in this research is field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data was collected by conducting observations, interviews, and documentations. The results of this study indicate that the PAIKEM GEMBROT (Aktif, Inovatif, Kreatif, Efektif, Menyenangkan, Gembira, and Berbobot) strategy applied in Arabic language learning is realized in five actions, namely: 1) pre-learning vocabulary submition, 2) utilization of pocket dictionary, 3) using motivational strategies, 4) Building bi’ah ‘Arabiyah at school, and 5) optimizing the use of technology. The implementation of PAIKEM GEMBROT strategy in Arabic learning at the school is considered successful in increasing students' enthusiasm for learning, and student learning outcomes have increased over the past 2 years. Technology integration makes it easier for students to understand the material, more involved in learning, and can develop modern skills
An Integrated English Model to Enhance English Competence in Islamic Higher Education through Habituation and Language Environment
The aim of this study was to develop an integrated model for enhancing students’ English competence through habituation and the language environment at the State Islamic University of Imam Bonjol Padang. The research and development type was used to develop the model in four phases, namely, need analysis, designing the model, validating, and a hypothetical model. 350 randomly selected active students participated in this research. Observation, questionnaires, interviews, and the TOEFL test were used to collect the data. The findings revealed that students' English competence was low, with a mean score of 65. Students tended to develop their competences through listening to music for listening skills, reading articles for reading skills, practicing individually for speaking skills, and sending messages for writing skills, with a mean score of 4.06. Reading, speaking, and writing skills were mostly improving. Students expressed a high demand for English club activities and academic English services to enhance their English competence through habituation and the language environment, with mean satisfaction scores of 84% and 86%. The hypothetical Integrated English Model (IEM) for enhancing English competence through habituation and the language environment consisted of four main phases: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. The study concludes that designing this integrated model is crucial for improving students' English competence at the State Islamic University of Imam Bonjol Padang. It implies that an integrated English model for enhancing English competence will lead to significant improvements in English competence among students.
Management Strategy of Educational Administration through Academic Information Systems at STAI-PIQ West Sumatera
The rapid development of information and communication technology has significantly influenced the management of higher education institutions, particularly in academic administration. Higher education institutions are required to adopt effective information systems to enhance efficiency, transparency, and service quality. STAI-PIQ West Sumatra has implemented an Academic Information System (SIAKAD) as part of its educational administration management strategy. This study aims to analyze the implementation of educational administration management through an academic information system at STAI-PIQ West Sumatra. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, documentation, and literature review. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns and roles of the academic information system in educational management. The findings indicate that the implementation of SIAKAD supports integrated academic management processes, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of academic activities. The system facilitates efficient management of academic data related to students, lecturers, curriculum, scheduling, assessment, and financial administration. Furthermore, SIAKAD contributes to improved administrative efficiency, data accuracy, and managerial decision-making, thereby supporting the achievement of the institution’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives. In conclusion, the academic information system plays a crucial role in strengthening educational administration management at STAI-PIQ West Sumatra. This study recommends continuous system development, enhancement of human resource competencies, and institutional commitment to technology-based management to optimize the effectiveness of academic information systems in Islamic higher education institutions
Development of Islamic Integrated Sciences e-Module on Measurement Materials to Improve Students' Religious Attitudes
Nilai-nilai keislaman harus segera ditingkatkan di era yang semakin maju agar keberagamaan siswa tidak luntur termakan zaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan e-modul IPA terpadu Islam pada materi pengukuran yang layak dan praktis digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran IPA serta dapat meningkatkan sikap religius siswa. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam jenis Research and Development (RD) dengan melalui serangkaian proses model Four-D. Ahli materi melakukan uji kelayakan e-modul IPA terpadu Islam, sedangkan guru dan siswa melakukan uji kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul IPA Terpadu Islam tentang materi pengukuran sangat layak dengan kategori sangat baik dan menjadi sarana yang memadai untuk meningkatkan sikap religius siswa; e-modul IPA juga praktis menurut guru dan siswa serta dapat meningkatkan sikap religius siswa setelah dilakukan uji coba. Oleh karena itu, guru IPA hendaknya mengadopsi e-modul IPA terpadu Islam pada materi pengukuran ini untuk mendukung kegiatan belajarnya di sekolah
Santri MBKM (Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka) Program in Development Self-Student
MBKM Santri is a Merdeka belajar – Kampus Merdeka program by Santri to carry out community service at target Islamic boarding schools and partner Islamic boarding schools directly. Student independent campus activities are expected to be able to hone the soft skills of partnership, work together in cross-disciplinary teams, and lead students at the destination Islamic Boarding School and other Partner Islamic Boarding Schools. This study used a qualitative approach, carried out at the Nurul Jadid Paiton Islamic Boarding School with 10 MBKM participating students as subjects. This type of research uses case studies. The results of this study indicate that MBKM Santri is implemented through; developing student potential, establishing student interpersonal relationships, developing student skills, and fostering new motivation for students. Students can further develop their abilities by participating in activities held by partner campuses and Islamic boarding schools. The existence of the student MBKM is intended so that students can further develop their abilities by participating in activities held by the destination campus and pesantren/partners. MBKM Santri students plan to implement several activities carried out on the destination campus to their partner campus / campus itself
Teacher’s Leadership n Developing Character of Early Childhood: Case Study at Harapan Bunda Kindergarten, Jambi City
The purpose of this article is to describe the role of teacher leadership as a model for early childhood character development, as well as the difficulties in developing children's character. The study uses a qualitative approach in describing situations from social reality. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion. This study concludes that the teacher's leadership role can shape the childhood independent character. Firstly, the role of teacher leadership in learning as a model of childhood independence for habituation. Secondly, there are childhood independent characters in daily activities. Thirdly, there are difficulties faced by teachers in realizing independent characters for children. This study recommends that teachers need to be given leadership reinforcement in early childhood character development so that they can develop optimally
Reorienting Islamic Education in Aceh: Paradigm and Strategies of Dayah Leaders in the Last Two Decades
This article aims to shed light on Abu's (a Dayah leader in Aceh) paradigm and strategy in reorienting Islamic education inside the dayah educational framework in the last two decades. Even now, the Acehnese people's socio-religious life still accepts and includes the traditional Islamic educational institution known as dayah. However, Dayah must adapt to the dynamics of the changing times to ensure its graduates to participate more fully in society. The Dayah in West-South and East-North coasts of Aceh are the subjects of this qualitative study using a multi-site case study. They are Dayah Asasul Islamiyah in East Aceh, Dayah Madinatuddiniyah Nurul Huda in North Aceh, Dayah Madinatuddiniyah Darul 'Ulumiddin in Southwest Aceh, and Dayah Darussalam Labuhan Haji in South Aceh. The research data was gathered through purposeful-snowballing in-depth interviewing techniques with a variety of informants, including Abu as the dayah's leader. After that, the data is processed using interactive analytic procedures, which include condensing, presenting, and concluding. According to the study's findings, Aceh's dayah leaders' (Abu) paradigm has shifted from being exclusive and orthodox to being inclusive and flexible during the dayah's current period of development. The Mua'dalah programme and the higher education programme Ma'had Aly were both implemented as part of Abu's strategy to reorient Islamic education in dayah, as well as the training of human resources to become educators
Digital Learning Quality: Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and 4C Skills at Higher Education
The digital era has an impact on education and the quality of learning. Digital devices are a necessity in classroom learning. Bringing equipment to class for learning is still considered 'unnatural' for educators and educational institutions. On the other hand, the device can be used as a medium to find materials in classroom learning. The purpose of this study is to examine the quality management of learning in higher education by bringing their own tools (BYOD) to classroom learning to improve 21st century skills in the Islamic Education Management study program at UIN KHAS Jember. This research is qualitative research, using observations, interviews and documentation as data collection and interactive data analysis. This research used 45 students as informants. The results showed that the personal devices used by students in classroom learning brought benefits to critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking skills. The benefits of using BYOD in the classroom are motivating and improving student participation in class discussions
The Implementation of Bilingual Class Program in Islamic Elementary School
For several decades, the expanding usage of English as an international language has resulted in a growth in its users all over the world, including in Indonesia. As a result, the bilingual education program becomes a medium for promoting English in society. This case study investigated the implementation of a bilingual class program at an Islamic elementary school in Indonesia, namely in Banten province. The participants of the study included a bilingual teacher, the school principal, the vice-principal for student affairs, and the vice-principal for curriculum division. Interviews, classroom observations, and documentation were utilized to collect the data. Meanwhile, the Miles and Huberman data analysis technique was employed to analyze the data, which consisted of data reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results elaborated on some aspects related to the practice of bilingual class programs in this school namely: the aspect of school administration, the aspect of human resources, the aspect of teaching and learning activities, and the aspect of program evaluation. The findings also revealed that the school adopted partial immersion as the bilingual program model
The Loss of Teacher’s Authority in Online Learning During Covid-19 Pandemic
The Covid-19 epidemic has altered social and physical segregation policies in the field of schooling. Due to this restriction, learning is now done online instead of in person. Teachers also lost their true authority in the classroom as a result of this evolving learning practice. This study employed a qualitative research methodology. Interviews and observation are used to acquire data. The method of data analysis makes use of the theory. Interviews and observation are used to acquire data. The method of data analysis relies on Miles and Huberman's theory, which calls for gathering, reducing, and presenting data. This study demonstrates that throughout the pandemic, teachers have lost their influence over online learning. Following up on this research will need to assess how prepared teachers are to deal with shifts from traditional offline to online learning environment
