    Analysis Ability Numeracy on Sundanese Manda Game in Mathematics Learning for Grade V in Elementary School

    The numeracy ability of fifth grade students of SDN Kedungpucang through the traditional Sundanese Manda game was examined in this study. The results of the AKM pre-test showed that the average student numeracy score was 50.33, below the school's KKM of 70. This study aims to analyze ability numeracy in games Sundanese manda in mathematics learning. This type of research is included in the qualitative descriptive category. with stages like data collection, data reduction, extraction conclusions, and verification. Tools for collecting data include observation , interviews , documentation , and sheets. Work student. Data analysis methods applied use approach analysis descriptive qualitative. Student performance was measured through active discussion, accuracy in solving problems, and application of mathematical concepts in real situations. The results of the study after the intervention increased significantly, with the average post-test being 67.33 or an increase of 17 points. Students involved in the game showed understanding operation count on concept numeracy in a way deep and contextual. Thus, integration game traditional sunda manda proven effective in develop skills numeracy.

    The Development of a Digital-Based Attendance System to Enhance the Discipline of Fifth Grade Students at SD Negeri 62 Palembang

    The integration of digital technology in education is increasingly recognized as a strategic effort to support character development and improve student discipline. This study explores the development and implementation of a digital-based attendance system to enhance the discipline of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 62 Palembang. Employing a research and development (R&D) approach based on the Borg and Gall model, this study involved stages from preliminary research to product refinement. The digital attendance system utilizes barcode technology, allowing real-time and automated recording of student attendance. In the context of Indonesian elementary education, the use of barcode-based attendance represents a novel and practical innovation, addressing long-standing challenges of manual record-keeping and promoting digital literacy among students and teachers alike. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, user practicality assessments by teachers and students, and discipline observations. Quantitative analysis revealed that the developed product was highly valid, with expert approval ratings indicating strong content and media reliability. The practicality test showed 98% of teachers and 100% of students responded favorably. Effectiveness was evaluated through pretest and posttest assessments of student discipline, supported by statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and Mann-Whitney U Test, both showing significant improvements in the experimental groups (p = 0.000). These findings demonstrate that digital attendance systems can significantly increase student punctuality and overall discipline. This study contributes to the growing literature on educational technology adoption in elementary schools and provides practical insights for schools seeking innovative digital solutions to support character education and school management

    Pengaruh PhotoMath Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP Negeri 3 Sukabumi

    Media pembelajaran PhotoMath adalah media pembelajaran berbasis alat elektronik yang dapat digunakan di smarthphone untuk membantu siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika. Saat ini, pembelajaran online yang tidak terikat tempat dan waktu yang didukung oleh kegiatan interaktif sangatlah penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana PhotoMath mempengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Sukabumi dengan menggunakan model Discovery Learning yang didukung PhotoMath. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan metode quasi eksperimental, penelitian ini melibatkan 112 siswa kelas VII yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok kontrol. Hasil perbandingan pada analisis data pretest dan posttest menunjukkan bahwa integrasi PhotoMath dalam pembelajaran Discovery Learning secara signifikan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dibandingkan dengan siswa yang hanya mengikuti Discovery Learning saja. Penemuan ini menyoroti efektivitas teknologi pendidikan seperti PhotoMath dalam meningkatkan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan analitis siswa, serta potensinya untuk mendukung hasil akademik secara menyeluruh. Studi masa depan dapat mengeksplorasi cara-cara untuk lebih mengoptimalkan model ini dalam konteks pendidikan yang berbeda, untuk memperkaya pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa

    Efektivitas Pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning dalam Mengembangkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis

    Studi ini bertujuan mengkaji keefektifan model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) terhadap peningkatan kompetensi pemecahan masalah matematika pada siswa SMP Negeri 44 Palembang. Mengadopsi rancangan quasi-experimental, riset ini mengikutsertakan siswa dari dua kelas VIII.1 dan VIII.2 yang dipilih melalui teknik random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi aktivitas belajar dan instrumen tes kompetensi pemecahan masalah matematika dengan desain pretest-posttest. Temuan riset mengindikasikan bahwa implementasi model CTL berhasil meningkatkan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan klasifikasi kategori baik. Hasil analisis statistik melalui independent sample t-test pada data posttest menunjukkan nilai t hitung 7,633 dengan degree of freedom (df) 57 serta tingkat signifikansi (p) 0,000. Mengingat nilai probabilitas tersebut kurang dari dari taraf signifikansi α = 0,05, maka H₀ direjeksi dan H₁ diterima. Disparitas yang signifikan ini mengkonfirmasi bahwa model CTL efektif meningkatkan kompetensi pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 44 Palembang. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penerapan model CTL layak dijadikan alternatif strategi instruksional untuk mengoptimalkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa tingkat SM

    Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bagaimana literasi matematis siswa extrovert dalam menyelesaikan ill-structure problem. Subjek penelitian merupakan siswa kelas VIII yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling untuk dilakukan wawancara yaitu dengan memilih siswa yang memiliki kemampuan literasi matematis yang tinggi dan dengan tipe kepribadian extrovert. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari pengisian angket tipe kepribadian, tes literasi matematis dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek mampu memenuhi indikator formulate (merumuskan), yaitu mampu mengidentifikasi informasi serta variabel penting dalam permasalahan, dan menyusun model matematis yang sesuai. Namun, subjek belum mampu memenuhi indikator employ (menggunakan) karena tidak menerapkan model yang telah disusun untuk menemukan solusi. Selain itu, subjek juga belum memenuhi indikator interpret (menafsirkan) karena tidak menafsirkan hasil matematis yang diperoleh dalam konteks masalah

    Kemampuan Representasi Matematis Siswa Kelas VIII pada Problem-Based Learning Ditinjau dari Kemandirian Belajar

    Hal yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini ialah rendahnya kemampuan representasi matematis siswa dimana kemampuan tersebut dipengaruhi oleh tingkat kemandirian belajar. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan guna mengatasi hal tersebut salah satunya ialah problem-based learning (PBL). Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk memberikan deskripsi mengenai kemampuan representasi matematis siswa kelas VIII yang ditinjau dari kemandirian belajar setelah dilakukannya model PBL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif. Angket, tes, dan wawancara merupakan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan. Angket dipakai untuk melihat tingkat kemandirian belajar siswa dan tes digunakan untuk melihat kemampuan representasi siswa. Subjek pada penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII SMPN 6 Indralaya Utara. Hasil analisis didapat bahwa setiap aspek representasi matematis (visual, simbolik, dan verbal) muncul pada setiap siswa baik dengan tingkat kemandirian belajar tinggi, sedang, maupun rendah dengan perolehan nilai secara berturut-turut 91.7, 50, dan 45.8. Tingkat kemandirian belajar sejalan dengan tingkat kemampuan representasi matematis pada siswa dengan tingkat kemandirian belajar tinggi dan sedang. Sedangkan pada peserta didik dengan tingkat kemandirian belajar rendah memiliki tingkat kemampuan representasi matematis sedang. Kesimpulannya adalah PBL dapat memunculkan kemampuan representasi matematis yang baik pada siswa berkemandirian belajar tinggi, sedang, maupun rendah

    THE USE OF PRE-QUESTION STRATEGY IN IMPROVING STUDENTS’ READING ACHIEVEMENT

    Reading proficiency is an essential skill that students must develop, as challenges in this area can significantly impede their ability to absorb and process information. This research aimed to determine whether the application of the pre-question strategy had a statistically significant impact on the reading achievement of tenth-grade students at SMA PGRI 2 Palembang compared to those who were not exposed to this instructional method. The study utilized a quasi-experimental design, dividing one class into two distinct groups: an experimental group and a control group. The population consisted of tenth-grade students, and the sample included a single class, selected through cluster sampling, which was further divided into experimental and control subgroups. Data were collected through a reading test. The analysis revealed that the obtained t-value was 15.180, which exceeded the critical t-value of 1.691 at a significance level of 0.05 with 34 degrees of freedom. This indicates a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Based on these findings, it is recommended that English teachers incorporate the pre-question strategy into their instructional practices, particularly in reading instruction, as it appears to facilitate students’ comprehension of the text. Furthermore, this strategy has the potential to boost students’ confidence when engaging with reading materials

    This study aims to describe the implementation of balanced bilingual education in an EFL context. Adopting a basic qualitative research approach, the research focuses on a bilingual elementary school in Singaraja. Data were gathered through classroom observation and interviews, using the researcher, an observation sheet, and an interview guide as instruments. The interview participant was a first-grade classroom teacher. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis. The results indicate that balanced bilingual education is facilitated through the use of bilingual learning media and consistent language use in daily activities. Learning media include both instructional tools used during lessons and materials displayed in the school environment. Language use encompasses communication during instruction, positive reinforcement practices, as well as school policies and routines that support bilingualism

    ENHANCING OR INHIBITING? THE DUAL ROLE OF AL TOOLS IN EFL WRITING PRACTICES

    This study investigates the dual role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in supporting English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing. Tools like Grammarly and ChatGPT are found to enhance students’ technical writing accuracy such as grammar, vocabulary, and sentence structure by offering instant feedback. However, concerns persist regarding their limited contribution to the development of higher-order writing skills. Conducted with 100 Indonesian tertiary-level EFL students, this mixed-methods research used surveys and interviews to evaluate the impact of AI tools on writing performance. Quantitative results showed a moderate positive correlation (Spearman’s ρ = 0.450, p = 0.001) between frequent AI use and improvements in surface-level writing. However, participants scored low on creativity and originality (M = 2.37), implying that AI-assisted writing tends to be rigid and lacks personal voice. Qualitative data also highlighted that AI-generated feedback lacks the depth and contextual sensitivity of human instruction. The study concludes that while AI tools are useful for supporting basic writing accuracy, they should not replace teacher feedback. Instead, a blended approach combining AI tools with human guidance is recommended to foster critical thinking, creativity, and rhetorical skills, ensuring more comprehensive EFL writing development

    HUMAN AND ANIMAL DYNAMICS IN PETER PAN BY J.M. BARRIE: A LINGUISTIC PERSPECTIVE FROM THE EDWARDIAN ERA

    This article discusses the representation of the relationship between humans and animals in J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan through an ecocritical approach. The main focus of this study is the character of a dog named Nana who acts as a caregiver for the children of the Darling family in the socio-cultural setting of the Edwardian era. By using close reading method and contextual-historical approach, this research reveals how Nana is not only portrayed as a pet, but also as a loving, responsible, and emotionally intelligent human being. However, Nana's position remains in a subordinate structure that reflects human domination over animals. This analysis shows that Nana's representation reflects Edwardian society's ambivalence towards animals: between affection and exploitation, between emotional closeness and denial of equality. Through an ecocritical approach, this article emphasizes the importance of rereading classic literary works as an effort to build ecological awareness and ethics towards non-human living beings, especially in the context of children's literature and environmental education
