A Methodological Framework for Airport Outbound Passenger Flow Modelling

    Get PDF
The airport is a logistics hub that handles several flows, including passengers flow. In fact, passengers are the common customer of all the actors of the airport chain. Thus, and considering growth of passenger air traffic, airport managers must find rational solutions with optimal use of available resources and infrastructures; hence the opportunity for a modeling study and an optimization of passenger circuits. This article took the initiative of presenting the passenger flow model with a holistic approach starting from airport access to the boarding gate and following, for the first time, a confirmed methodological framework which is the ASDI methodology (Analysis, Specification, Design and Implementation). This methodology relies on a system decomposition in three subsystems: SSP physic, SSL logic and SSD decision-making. Our study was conducted on Mohammed V International Airport of Casablanca, the first airport in Morocco, by building its generic model of knowledge of the flow of departing passengers; a model that can be reused and reproduced on other circuits, even other airports

Nowadays, Nowadays, Indonesian Logistics Service Providers (LSP) need to improve their performance to enable them competing with foreign logistics service providers with particular reference to cope with the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The main purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of innovative logistics service capability (INOV) on LSP’s performance (PERFORM) and competitiveness (COMP). The research model was developed based on previous theories and researches. This research constituted a causal research. It used questioners in collecting data from respondents by applying probability sampling with sample size consist of 280 logistics service providers (LSP) in Jakarta (Jabodetabek Region). The model was examined through structural equation modeling (LISREL). In the research was also conducted investigation about role of LSP’s competitiveness (COMP) in mediating the effect of innovative logistics service capability (INOV) on firm performance (PERFORM).Â

Abstract—An empirical assessment of the theoretical framework for this study included a survey of 120 employees that working in 4 hotels around Klang Valley that have an experience using smart housekeeping trolley. The resulting data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM methodology by using the SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings suggested that Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, and Perceived Innovativeness give a positive significant impact towards Attitude. Besides that, Attitude, Perceived Usefulness, and Perceived Ease of Use simultaneously significantly affect Intentions. In addition, Attitude gives a partial mediating effect toward the relationship of Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use toward Intentions, but give a full mediating effect toward the relationship of Perceived Innovativeness and Intentions.Keywords—PLS-SEM, Mediating Analysi

    Get PDF
Abstract- Effective supply chain management of the active development process of the social economy requires the use of separate tools to measure the level of social entrepreneurship, including the state of the environment in which enterprises are created. In this regard, the author proposes a method for assessing the level of the social entrepreneurship development in the macro-region. The method of calculating the integrated index of innovative development of the region as the basis of the proposed tools was used and subsequently adapted. The proposed calculation model was adapted to the problem of measuring the level of development of social entrepreneurship by including an expert method for determining the weight coefficients of each thematic block. An evaluation scale was also introduced, which can serve as a basis for making recommendations for consistently improving the level of social entrepreneurship development in the region. The evaluation is calculated in four consecutive stages: collecting the values of each indicator, rationing each indicator included in the evaluation system, calculating the index for each thematic block, and calculating the integral index for the development of social entrepreneurship

Using cross sectional research design, 500 questionnaires were distributed among the supply chain managers of food industry by using a judgmental sampling technique which yield a 40% response rate. The data was analyzed by the Structural Equation Modeling technique. The key findings of the study have shown that SCM capabilities have positive and significant association with the BP. Similarly, it was also shown that information sharing significantly moderates within two components of SCM namely, strategic sourcing, technology capability and BP. Whereas has insignificant moderating effect on the relationship of logistic integration commitment and BP.  Hence, current study contributed some theoretical implications in the existing body of literature. The study limitations and future directions are also being discussed
