    Get PDF
Supply chain management represents a set of interdependent organisations that work closely together to manage the flow of goods or services and information along the value-added chain of products, in order to realise end customer value at the lowest possible costs. Halal Supply Chain performance measures can be developed based on existing measures of the conventional supply chain as long as the primary objective is preserving halal integrity rather than minimising cost or maximising profit. The objective of this paper is to see the effect of halal traceability system towards halal supply chain performance using SEM techniques. Halal Traceability system is a system that enables the identification of products’ and product ingredients’ halal status backward and forward, along the production chain. This article focus will be on the survey method only. The instrument development was based on a literature survey. This study focuses on the population of halal certified food and beverages (FB) manufacturers as disclose in JAKIM Halal Portal. About 254 questionnaire sets answered by the intended respondents out of 500 being distributed and no data are detected as missing. All questions are completely answered by the respondents. This study has confirmed the effect of Halal Traceability system on Halal Supply Chain performance. Having demonstrated the significance of the hypothesised effect with a substantial total variance explained (i.e. above 75 percent) and sufficient predictive relevance, this study provides strong empirical evidence that a high level of Halal Supply Chain performance can be achieved through the effective implementation of Halal Traceability system

    Get PDF
Abstract- Over the last three decades, global supply chains (GSCs) have increasingly gained importance in linking developing countries to international markets. This investigation intends to take a gander at the present status of poverty and existing reform approaches in Iraq. This is a continuous research for the policy estimations in Iraq, which exhibited the poverty circumstance after the economic reforms. This study utilized a time period of post war era from 2005 to 2017 to examine the poverty situation in Iraq after the reform agenda. The study suggests that poverty should genuinely take into consideration the institutional, social and political elements. In GSCs, competitiveness (and thus delocalization choices) is determined by a wide range of factors, especially by the quality of policies influencing the overall  business  environment. Economic reforms do not fairly distribute income and employment which is imperative for the decrease in the poverty. With the expanding globalization of the world economy, it is recommended that nations seeking after fare approaches dependent on specific advantages will achieve faster growth. Solid financial development will give enough assets to improve the status of poor people. However, government should take necessary action in GSC specifically poverty alleviation driven.  Otherwise the poverty may remain a big problem for Iraq even after achieving economic reforms and growth.

    Get PDF
This research seeks the development of a supply chain network design, aiming to determine the optimal location of a dairy distribution center and its ideal inventory capacity, considering the location of a company’s facilities as a key factor for financial success, since costs such as inventory and transportation are influenced by network projects. Variables such as logistical costs, taxes, inventories, etc., are considered during the execution of the network design. This study contributes to the area of network design in the supply chain, having a quantitative and exploratory nature. A single case study was carried out in the dairy company, analyzing documents and financial information to decide on the most advantageous place for the distribution center. The Supply Chain Guru software for network optimization, developed by Llamasoft, was used to support this project. This tool has been previously studied and analyzed for this use, since it can bring relevant and complex outcomes. The result was that the optimal location for the new distribution center would be at one of the company’s existing plants, which would bring an economy close to R$ 100,000 in one year of operation

Using the Supply-Chain Management for Developing Oil Indiutries in the Republic of Kazakhstan

    Get PDF
Abstract- The oil and gas industry is involved in a global supply-chain that includes domestic and international transportation, ordering and inventory visibility and control, materials handling, import/export facilitation and information technology. Thus, the industry offers a classic model for implementing supply-chain management techniques. In a supply-chain, a company is linked to its upstream suppliers and downstream distributors as materials, information, and capital flow through the supply-chain. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the role of supply-chain management in the oil and gas industry. The challenges of a growing innovative economy impose the need to consider the context of the analyzed area with the characteristics of a mono-raw oil and gas group in a sparsely populated territory by supply chain strategy. The paper considers the key factors for reducing costs and increasing the company’s profits in managing supply chains: demand management, efficient distribution of petroleum products among customers, better transportation scheduling, warehouse management, and quality and timeliness of information through the automation of the supply chain. Revising the ways to expand the production capabilities will ensure the achievement of sustainable development of the Atyrau region not only in the medium but also in the long-term perspectives when oil is replaced by other sources, which will make the region less attractive for investors. Results show that implementation of supply-chain management in the oil industry can help to reduce costs, increase the company’s profits in managing supply, and manage the planning of deliveries

    Get PDF
The prime objective of this study is to investigate the association among the practices of supply chain management (SCM), total quality management (TQM), through the information technology (IT) competencies and the adoption of innovation in SCM with the firm’s supply chain performance (FSCP). Moreover, this study similarly tries to find out the mediating role of the IT competencies and the adoption of SC technology in the association between SCM, TQM and the FSCP. This study is based on a sample of firms related to the textile industry of Indonesia. Smart PLS-3 is used for data analysis that is gathered from Indonesia’s textile firms, in order to attain the objective of the research. The results of the study are consistent with the hypotheses. With respect to the association among TQM, SCM and supply performance, the IT competencies and SC technology mutually act as mediators. The conclusion reached will be beneficial for the policymakers and researchers especially with regard to the implications of IT in the area of strategic and operations management

People's mobility in the Greater Jakarta area requires effective and efficient transportation services. At present, many modes of transportation are competing to improve the quality of services to the users, which include the commuter trains that are managed by PT. Kereta  Commuter Indonesia (PT. KCI). Research is needed to determine the level of services provided by PT. KCI. Here, the researcher analyzes the effectiveness of the services of the Jabodetabek commuter train of Bogor - Tanah Abang route, especially the services at Bogor and Manggarai stations as well as on the train. The research was carried out through a questionnaire survey that produced primary data. The secondary data was obtained from PT. KCI for further processing. The method used is the validity, reliability, Importance Performance Analysis, and Normality testing by using SPSS software. The results of the research shows that PT. KCI needs to increase the number of toilets at Bogor Station, to add the first-aid kits at Bogor and Manggarai Station, to increase the number of waiting chairs at Manggarai Station, to add stairs for platforms whose height are not the same as the train floor at Manggarai Station, and to improve the performance of security officers and the awareness of the users about the use of priority passengers seats.

    Get PDF
Despite the data driven supply chain (DDSC) significance, the extant researches have a limited attention on how the DDSC effects to supply chain capabilities (SCC) to enhance the business performance (BP). Based on this gap, the main objective of the study is to investigate how DDSC effect to BP through the SCC in the manufacturing industries of the Indonesia. To achieve this objective, data has been collected from the 600 supply chain managers who were working in the food industry of Indonesia by using a simple random sampling technique which yield a 55% response rate. To analyze the results Smart PLS 3 software and structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed. The SEM findings has shown that in the direct effect DDSC has a significant and positive association with the BP, DDSC also have a significant and positive association with the SCC and SCC also has a positive and significant association with the BP. On the other hand, the indirect effect also shows that SCC is partially mediates in the relationship of DDSC and BP of the manufacturing industry of Indonesia. These findings show that SCC is considered to be a significant mediator in the relationship of DDSC and BP. Based on these findings, it could be considered that SCC is an important contribution which added a body of literature in the extant empirical studies. The findings of the current study could also be helped to supply chain managers to provide guideline to the supply chain mangers to know about the importance of the DDSC to increase the BP of the organization. The research limitations and future directions of the study also explained at the end of the study
