Analysis of the Impact of Supply Chain of Government Procurement, Investments and Human Development Index on the Level of Indonesian Community Welfare
The role of the government in the welfare of the community with existing policies is expected to be able to alleviate existing poverty and form a better society in thinking and managing existing resources. The development of a region must also be supported by various budgets that will later support any planning activities that will be made by the government with the implementation of regional autonomy and fiscal decentralization policies. The consideration is that the regions know more about the needs and service standards for the people in their regions so that the provision of regional autonomy is expected to spur an increase in the welfare of the people in the regions through increased economic growth. The existence of an increase in decentralization funds transferred by the central government every year is expected to encourage an increase in the rate of economic growth. The rate of regional economic growth is positively and significantly influenced by human development. In essence, development is human development, so it is necessary to prioritize the allocation of procurements for this purpose in budget preparation. Human development is an indicator for the progress of a country. A country is said to be developed by looking at gross domestic income. This study aims to analyze the impact of supply chain of government procurement, investment, and the human development index on the level of welfare of the Indonesian people using multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that the government procurement and investment had a positive and significant effect on people's welfare while the human development index is not statistically significant
Evaluation of Errors in Seismic Analysis Methods by Considering Lateral Stiffness Irregularities in Construction Projects
Abstract. Basically, among the various stages that are considered when designing a building for earthquake resistance, the decision stage about building configuration is of fundamental importance. One of the important factors that has a significant impact on the seismic performance of the building is its regularity or irregularity in plan and height. Most of those with irregular configurations are more damaged by earthquakes. Therefore, it is important to set criteria for detecting irregularities in structures. In this study, in order to investigate the error rate of seismic analysis methods (static equivalent, spectral and time history) in intermediate structures with irregularity of hardness, 4 5-story steel samples with dual flexural frame system and bracing with different states of irregularity in height in soft SAP software has been modeled. The results showed that the equivalent static analysis method always provides conservative and somewhat uneconomical values compared to other methods, so it can be said that for static buildings, equivalent static analysis is reliable. Any analysis of time history better than spectral analysis better represents the behavior of the structure during an earthquake
Impact of 3-D Printing Technology in Manufacturing Supply Lines to Improve Resilience During Black Swan Events
AbstractPurpose: Globalized networks of suppliers and manufacturing hubs may fail in the face of high impact and unpredictable events such as Hurricane Katrina, the 9/11 terrorist attack, the Fukushima disaster and the COVID-19 pandemic—known as black swan events. I examine how 3-D printing, a now widespread and powerful technology, may be relevant in this context.Originality: I show 3-D printing in the manufacturing sector will simplify complex and globalized networks thereby making them more resilient to black swan events. The findings of this review article are important for managers and chief supply chain officers in that they can better simplify the chains through the adoption of 3-D printing infrastructure, thereby insulating their businesses from the cascading effects of black swan events.Design/ Methodology/ Approach: The study looks into secondary data (collected from authentic data sources both public and private) sources. The thorough literature review to examine how the design of supply networks can be simplified to improve resilience to black swan events through the use of 3-D printing helps to better substantiate our argument.Findings: I find support for the hypothesis that the adoption of 3-D printing infrastructure in manufacturing supply chain infrastructure leads to simplification of the networks. It facilitates simplification through economies of scale, customization, co-production, better demand prediction, freedom in shape design, allowance for manufacturing postponement, fewer nodes and integration of functionalities to reduce steps in the chain. These contribute to improved resilience through a variety of mechanisms

Determinants of Smallholders’ Beef Cattle Market Participation: In Selected Districts of West Shewa Zone, Ethiopia
The study was aimed at analyzing determinants of smallholders’ beef cattle market participation and quantity supplied to the market in Toke Kutaye and Bako Tibe Districts, West Shewa Zone, Oromia National Regional State, Ethiopia. The primary data for this study were collected from 376 sampled household producers by using interview schedule, site visit and personal observation. Data analysis was made using descriptive and inferential statistics and heckman two-step selection model. The results of the heckman two-step selection model indicated that beef cattle market participation and quantity supplied to the market is significantly determined by education level, household size, using veterinary services, grazing land owned, selling price of cattle, frequency of farmer gets market information, body condition of cattle and total number of cattle owned. It was concluded that there is poor market information and infrastructure, lack of access to services and weak linkage of producers with next actors. Access to market information and infrastructure and veterinary services improves market participation and supplying of cattle. Therefore, the required recommendations were improving farmers’ access to market information and infrastructure by improving linkages between the producers and service provider institutions, creating strong horizontal and vertical linkage between the farmers and other chain actors and enabling them to produce market oriented products and supplying to the market.
Published or Perished: Harnessing Consolidated Procurement of National Reference Books
The procurement of goods and services is generally carried out in isolation without coordination and integration in the process. Consequently, a number of issues may occur, such as the high number of procurement packages, high administrative cost, and high purchasing cost. Strategies are needed to address those issues, and one potential strategy is consolidated procurement of goods/services. Consolidated procurement has successfully been carried out by the Government of Indonesia through the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP) for the procurement of national textbooks for the primary, junior high, and senior high schools. This paper reports on the implementation, challenges, and benefits at every stage of the consolidated procurement of the national textbooks in Indonesia. This study employed a qualitative approach and method by interviewing informants selected through purposive sampling. The informants in this research came from the Ministry of Education and Culture, the National Public Procurement Agency (LKPP), and book publishers as procurement vendors. Data analysis was conducted through open, selective, and axial coding whereby data from different informants were triangulated. The findings suggested that the consolidated procurement of the national textbooks, which was conducted in three phases, namely planning, tendering, and contract delivery, involved several strategies and faced a number of challenges. Studies on and practice of consolidated procurement of goods/services in Indonesia remain limited. Therefore, this article is expected to serve as a reference for future studies and for practitioners/government who wish to conduct consolidated procurement. Keywords— Consolidated procurement, Challange of consolidated procurement, Advantage of consolidated procurement, national textbooks, procurement of goods/services in Indonesia,
Deep Learning to Aid Prescription Processing & Inventory Management for Local Pharmacies through Smartphone Application
One of the most common types of medical errors is medication errors and also considered one of the most preventable errors. Most of the prescriptions that are provided by doctors are still handwritten. Mistakes can occur very easily in handwritten prescriptions as well as the possibility of the pharmacist finding the handwriting illegible which can lead to the consumption of incorrect drugs and doses in patients. Usage of digital prescriptions or also known as e-prescription can reduce medication errors dramatically. First of all, it omits the possibility of illegible handwriting. Thus, the pharmacists can provide the correct medicine and doses to the patients. This study is conducted to show how Deep Learning can hugely contribute to providing a solution for medication errors and how it can create a marketplace for pharmacies that uses this advanced technology that directly connects the local pharmacy stores, diagnostic centers, and hospitals to fulfill patient’s extensive medical needs
