THE INTERCULTURAL STRUGGLE: PMM STUDENTS' PERSPECTIVES ON CULTURE SHOCK AT UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MAKASSAR
This qualitative study explores the determinants of culture shock experienced by students participating in the Program Merdeka Mengajar (PMM) at Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM). Using Orlay’s (2021) framework on cultural adaptation, the research investigates the challenges faced by 5 PMM students as they navigate their academic and social environments in a new cultural setting. Through in-depth interviews, the study identifies key factors contributing to culture shock, including language barriers, differences in teaching methodologies, and habit. Findings suggest that these factors significantly impact students' academic performance, mental well-being, and overall adjustment to university life. The study highlights the need for targeted support mechanisms, such as cultural orientation programs and peer mentoring, to mitigate the negative effects of culture shock and promote smoother transitions for future PMM participants. This research contributes to the understanding of cross-cultural challenges in higher education and provides insights for improving the PMM experience at UNM
PUBLIC RELATIONS STRATEGY APPROACH IN SHAPING POSITIVE PUBLIC PERCEPTION OF BANK SYARIAH INDONESIA'S CSR PROGRAM
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an essential element of business strategies, including in the banking sector. Public Relations (PR) plays a crucial role in communicating CSR activities to the public and shaping positive perceptions. This research examines the approach of Public Relations at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in communicating its CSR programs and the impact of these strategies on forming a positive public perception. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing secondary data from literature, CSR reports, and media publications. The findings reveal that BSI’s transparent and accountable PR communication significantly enhances its public image. BSI effectively utilizes various communication channels, such as social media and mass media, to inform the public about the social impact of its CSR initiatives. The research concludes that a well-structured and responsive PR strategy plays a critical role in fostering trust and supporting the bank’s long-term social sustainability goals.Keywords: Public Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Positive Public Perception, Communication Strateg
Implementasi Media Bahan Alam Terhadap Pemahaman Konsep Bilangan Pada Anak Usia Dini 2 - 3 Tahun di SPS Al - Wildan Manyarsidomukti
Pembelajaran numerasi pada anak usia 2–3 tahun memerlukan media konkret yang dapat mendukung proses eksplorasi sensorik dan pemahaman bilangan secara nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi media bahan alam dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep bilangan pada anak usia dini di SPS Al-Wildan Manyarsidomukti. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus melalui observasi partisipatif dan dokumentasi untuk menggambarkan respons anak selama kegiatan menghitung, membandingkan jumlah, mencocokkan angka, dan menyebutkan urutan bilangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media bahan alam seperti batu, daun, kerang, dan pasir mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan, motivasi, dan kemampuan anak dalam mengenali bilangan hingga tiga, membedakan banyak dan sedikit, serta mengurutkan angka secara benar. Kesimpulannya, media bahan alam efektif sebagai alternatif pembelajaran kontekstual yang mendukung perkembangan numerasi anak usia dini
The Influence of the AIR (Auditor Intellectually Repetition) Model on Middle School Students' Interest in Learning Islamic Religious Education
The low interest of students in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI), especially in the indicator of "preferring statements", is an important concern in the world of education today. Minimal interaction with the material, limited variety of learning activities, and the dominant use of conventional methods that are one-way are the main factors in the low enthusiasm for learning of students. This study aims to determine the effect of the Auditor Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model on students' interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at SMP Negeri 1 Bandar Lampung. The AIR model emphasizes three main aspects, namely Auditory (listening), Intellectually (thinking), and Repetition (repetition) which are designed to encourage active and enjoyable student involvement. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a post-test only control group design. The research sample was selected through simple random sampling, consisting of two classes: the experimental class (VII 3) which received the AIR model treatment and the control class (VII 5) with conventional learning. The research instrument was a non-test questionnaire with a Likert scale on the indicator of "preferring statements". Data were analyzed using a pooled variance t-test after meeting normality and homogeneity requirements. The results showed a significant effect of the AIR model with a significance value of 0.000, indicating that this model was effective in increasing interest in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI)
Deep Classroom Management Management Improving Student Learning Achievement In School
AR RAHMAN KAJU MTS School is one of the educational institutions at the junior high school level which is currently trying to create quality education for all people and restore students' right to learn. Among the efforts carried out to achieve these goals are facilitating cheap and quality education and the implementation of education that favors the needs of the surrounding environment and the students themselves, this is based on the participation of all components of MTS AR RAHMAN KAJU who aspire to create independent learning citizens and useful. From this background, the problems faced are how to implement class-based management carried out at MTS AR RAHMAN KAJU School and how to make student-based management work well. Therefore, this institution is interesting to study with the aim of knowing the implementation of management that is applied, is it in accordance with the concept of class-based management and how to condition management that is completely left to students can be a point more than management at other educational institutions that only focus on teachers. This type of research includes field research. The approach in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. In collecting data the author uses the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. In analyzing the data, a comparative descriptive method was used, namely making generalizations based on facts and subsequent events. The results of the analysis were compared with scientific concepts that became the standard approach in this research. Implikasi Yuridis Perpres Nomor 83 Tahun 2024 terhadap Tata Kelola Program Makan Bergizi Gratis
This research is motivated by the urgency to assess the legality, effectiveness, and juridical implications of Presidential Regulation Number 83 of 2024 concerning the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program. The program represents one of the government’s strategic efforts to improve public nutrition, particularly among school-aged children, while reflecting the state’s commitment to human capital development. However, the regulation raises legal concerns as it was enacted without explicit support from sectoral legislation serving as its primary legal foundation. This condition creates potential issues related to the limits of executive authority, possible disharmony with existing laws in education, health, and social sectors, and challenges in ensuring accountability in state budget management. Employing a normative juridical method with statutory and conceptual approaches, this study analyzes the conformity of Presidential Regulation 83 of 2024 with Law Number 12 of 2011 on the Formation of Legislation and the principles of good governance. The findings reveal that, although formally valid, the regulation presents substantive legal and administrative vulnerabilities that may affect the program’s implementation effectiveness. Therefore, strengthening the legal framework through comprehensive legislative support, enhancing inter-sectoral regulatory harmonization, and establishing an integrated and participatory monitoring system are essential. Theoretically, this research contributes to the discourse of administrative law concerning presidential discretion and accountability, while practically it provides policy recommendations for developing a transparent, accountable, and socially equitable national nutrition governance system
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh urgensi untuk menilai keabsahan, efektivitas, dan implikasi yuridis dari Peraturan Presiden Nomor 83 Tahun 2024 tentang Program Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG). Program ini menjadi salah satu kebijakan strategis pemerintah dalam meningkatkan kualitas gizi masyarakat, terutama bagi anak usia sekolah, sekaligus mencerminkan komitmen negara terhadap pembangunan sumber daya manusia. Namun, regulasi ini menimbulkan persoalan hukum karena diterbitkan tanpa dukungan undang-undang sektoral yang eksplisit sebagai dasar hukum utama. Kondisi tersebut menimbulkan potensi pergeseran batas kewenangan eksekutif, risiko disharmonisasi dengan peraturan di bidang pendidikan, kesehatan, dan sosial, serta tantangan dalam akuntabilitas penggunaan anggaran negara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan dan konseptual, menelaah kesesuaian Perpres 83 Tahun 2024 dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 12 Tahun 2011 tentang Pembentukan Peraturan Perundang-undangan serta prinsip-prinsip tata kelola pemerintahan yang baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun Perpres ini sah secara formal, secara substantif terdapat kerentanan hukum dan tata kelola yang dapat memengaruhi efektivitas pelaksanaannya. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penguatan landasan hukum melalui dukungan legislasi yang komprehensif, harmonisasi antarperaturan sektoral, serta mekanisme pengawasan yang terintegrasi dan partisipatif. Secara teoretis, penelitian ini memperkaya wacana hukum administrasi negara mengenai batas diskresi dan tanggung jawab Presiden, sedangkan secara praktis memberikan rekomendasi kebijakan bagi pemerintah untuk memastikan keberlanjutan program gizi nasional yang transparan, akuntabel, dan berkeadilan sosia
Literature Review: Peran Bahasa Arab Dalam Pembentukan Identitas Sosial dan Budaya Masyarakat Arab
This study aims to examine the strategic role of the Arabic language in shaping the social and cultural identity of Arab society. The main focus of this review is how Arabic functions as a representation of social identity, a medium for preserving cultural values, and a means of forming religious identity and collective solidarity among Muslims. The method used is qualitative research based on a literature review, analyzing various scientific sources including journals, books, and articles published within the last five years. Data were collected through library research from national and international academic databases, then analyzed thematically through data reduction, categorization, and synthesis processes. The results indicate that Arabic not only serves as a communication tool but also as a symbol of collective identity that binds social structures, cultural values, and religious unity within Arab society. Arabic plays a fundamental role in maintaining cultural continuity and spirituality, while also acting as a means of social integration within Arab communities and the global Muslim ummah.
Manajemen Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab Pada Madrasah Ibtidaiyah: Konstruk Kurikulum Merdeka Berbasis Komunitas
This article is a literature review that focuses on examining the management of Arabic language learning in madrasah ibtidaiyah in the community-based independent curriculum. The results of the study show that the management of Arabic language learning in madrasah ibtidaiyah in the community-based independent curriculum is built on three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation of Arabic language learning. At the planning stage, the preparation of the Madrasah Operational Curriculum (KOM), the preparation of Learning Objectives (TP) and the Flow of Learning Objectives (ATP), the preparation of teaching modules, was carried out. At the implementation stage, difference learning and P5-PPRA design (Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project and Rahmatan Lil Alamin Student Profile) were carried out. As for the evaluation stage, formative and summative evaluations need to be carried out to ensure that all Arabic learning processes are in the right flow in terms of planning and implementation as a stage, in which the evaluation is an evaluation as a stage of management of Arabic learning at madrasah ibtidaiyah in an independent community-based curriculu
Epistemological Foundations of Maharah Qira’ah Learning in Arabic Language Education
Reading skills play a central role in Arabic language learning as the main pathway to understanding classical and contemporary texts. Yet, instruction often remains limited to technical decoding without fostering critical comprehension. This article outlines the epistemological foundations needed to develop mahārah qirā’ah so that Arabic learning becomes more systematic and meaningful. Using a qualitative literature review, data were drawn from journals, books, and Arabic texts as primary sources. Ontologically, mahārah qirā’ah is not merely pronunciation but the ability to link linguistic symbols with conceptual and civilizational knowledge. Epistemologically, its mastery involves layered processes: textual sources analyzed through grammar, semantics, and context; stages of acquisition including perceptual (empirical), cognitive (rational), interpretative (hermeneutical), validative (epistemic), and applicative (pragmatic); and validation through linguistic, semantic, hermeneutic, and metacognitive criteria. Innovative methods such as Jigsaw, Inquiry, and Contextual Teaching and Learning help integrate these dimensions. In conclusion, an epistemological approach elevates mahārah qirā’ah from technical skill to critical, reflective thinking, ensuring valid and coherent understanding aligned with modern educational demand
Numuuzaj al Ta'liim al Qaaim 'ala al Muhimmah (Task-Based Learning) fi Ta'liim Maharah al Kalaam
يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة تطبيق نموذج التعليم القائم على المهمة في تعليم مهارة الكلام لدى متعلمي اللغة العربية. ويمنح المتعلمين فرصة واسعة لاستخدام اللغة بصورة تلقائية وهادفة. وتشير نتائج التحليل إلى أن نموذج التعليم القائم على المهمة يسهم في تعزيز طلاقة المتعلمين، وتحسين دقتهم اللغوية، وتطوير قدرتهم على اختيار المفردات المناسبة والتفاعل في مواقف تواصلية متنوعة. كما يوفر هيكل هذا النموذج، المكوّن من مراحل ما قبل المهمة، ودورة المهمة، والتركيز اللغوي، والبيئة التي تشجع على المشاركة النشطة وبناء الثقة في استخدام اللغة. ويخلص البحث إلى أن التعليم القائم على المهمة جيدة في تعليم مهارة الكلام بشكل متدرج وتواصلي
