A SPATIOTEMPORAL ANALYSIS OF THE INCIDENCE OF ROAD TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ALONG LAGOS/ ABEOKUTA EXPRESSWAY.
Get PDFThere is generally an increase incidence of morbidity and mortality rates of road traffic accidents across the world, but majority of the morbidity occur in developing countries, this research is therefore aimed at carrying out a spatiotemporal analysis of incidence of road traffic accident along Lagos/ Abeokuta Expressway, to enable the researcher identify prominent accident spots on the road, identifying accident prevalent time in order to analyze if relationship exist between location, time and prevalent of traffic accident. For the purpose of this research, statistical records were consulted and questionnaire design and randomly distributed to commuters at some notable bus stops. The retrieved questionnaire was analyzed and formulated hypotheses were tested using regression statistical tool. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that human, mechanical and environmental characteristics are the salient factors that are responsible for road traffic crashes in the study area, the research therefore recommend a total enforcement of traffic rules and regulation to correct erring drivers and the Government and affected institutions should take the issue of road construction and maintenance more seriously, and in the event of road construction proper diversion and traffic sign should be put in place
The Impact of Blended Differentiated Instruction on Critical Reading Skills in Middle School English as a Second Language Classrooms
Get PDFThis research paper probed the impact of critical reading instruction through a differentiated technology-based approach on the participants’ performance in critical text analysis and written expression. One hundred seventy-three Middle School English as a second language participants were divided into control and experimental groups. Ninety-seven of them received a blended differentiated critical reading instructional program whereas fifty-seven students were taught using a semi-traditional critical reading instructional approach over one academic year. The experimental group filled out a questionnaire and twenty of them were interviewed. Some classroom dynamics were documented. In addition, posttest pretest design was used and students’ writing samples were analyzed. The data revealed that blended differentiated teaching enhanced students’ critical reading skills. Strikingly, most participants agreed that a blended differentiated approach via a virtual platform made them more engaged and responsible for their own learning which improved their critical reading skills. Finally, T-tests, test item analyses and students’ written work showed a noticeable improvement in critical text analysis after the implementation of the study. However, a few participants saw no value in integrating technology with differentiated instruction to enhance critical reading skills

However, the only constant finding of the syndrome is the absence of the sternocostal component of the pectoralis major muscle. This finding may be accompanied by additional findings on the same side such as absence of pectoralis minor muscle and of ribs 2 to 5, under-development of breast tissue, latissimus dorsi, serratus anterior and external oblique muscles. The incidence is approximately 1 in 30,000 live births and is more common in men than in women. . Mostly holds the right hemithorax of the body. Here we present a 20-year-old male patient without complaints, diseases or other functional anomalies, who has hypoplasia of the right hemithorax, palpation indicating hypoplasia of the pectoral muscle group, and thoracic CT showing a lack of pectoral muscles

(Çeçen, 2008) Kıbrıs adasındaki kaos ve kanlı dönemlerin başlangıç noktası, adada milliyetçilik hareketini uyandıran Ortodoks kilisesinin faaliyetleridir. Yunanistan, bağımsızlığını kazanmasının ardından yürüttüğü yayılmacı politika ile Avrupa devletlerinin de desteğini alarak, Enosis mücadelesini başlatmıştır. Lozan Anlaşmasının ardından Kıbrıslı Rumlar, 1878 yılından itibaren İngiliz yönetimine karşı sürdürdükleri Enosis mücadelesini tırmandırmış, Rum liderler, Rum eğitim kurumları aracılığıyla Kıbrıs’ın Yunanistan’a ilhakı çalışmalarını sürdürmüşlerdir. (Avcı & Doğanay, Atun, 2016). Rumlar 1955 yılında EOKA (Kıbrıs Savaşçıları Ulusal Örgütü) adı verilen bir örgüt kurar. Bu örgüt önce İngiliz ve muhalif Rumlara, ardından da Türklere karşı terör eylemlerinde bulunur. (Çay, 1989). Rumların ilhak taleplerine karşın, tedhiş eylemlerinin odağında kalan Türkler adanın bölünmesi talebini dile getirmişlerdir. Bu talep 1957 yılından itibaren daha da artmış, Kıbrıs sorununun tek çözümünün iki bölgelilik olduğu savunulmuştur. Rum lobisince kullanılan “Kıbrıs sorunu 1974’te başladı” ve “Ada 1974’te, Türkiye’nin adaya harekat yapmasıyla ikiye bölündü” şeklindeki iddialarının gerçeği yansıtmadığı görülmektedir. Yunanistan, 1954'te Kıbrıs sorununu Birleşmiş Milletlere (BM) götürme kararı almış, BM bu talebi dikkate almamış, Yunanistan 1954-1958 yılları arasında "self-determinasyon" amacıyla BM'ye yaptığı çeşitli başvurulara olumlu bir yanıt almamıştır.

Get PDFThe aim of this study is to address and shed the light on the actual extracting and transferring the civilian pilot's, knowledge and raising the efficiency of pilot training at Prince Sultan Aviation Academy at Jeddah. The importance of the study in the scarcity of Arab and foreign studies - according to the researcher's knowledge - which seeks to extract and transfer the civilian pilots tacit knowledge, as well as increase the awareness of leaders and decision makers at Prince Sultan Aviation Academy of the importance of extracting and transferring knowledge for the training of pilots. The researcher used descriptive methodology as a case study, which is appropriate to the nature of this study. The study used the questionnaire as a data collection tool for analysis. The study concluded with important results such as: the extraction and transfer of the civilian pilot's knowledge has a clear impact on the efficiency of pilots training. Finally, the study recommended that Prince Sultan Aviation Academy should begin immediately in establishing the knowledge base. 
A novel method of current matching the ideal series-connected subcells tandem solar cell system maintaining optimal the conversion efficiency
Get PDFA novel method is explored that maintains optimal the overall conversion efficiency of series-connected subcells tandem solar cell system ( same as the theoretical overall conversion efficiency ( ƞopt ) of the stacks of independently-operated optimized subcells tandem solar cell system ). Series-connected optimized-subcells tandem solar cell systems suffering of un-matching ( unequal ) their subcells currents and as a result their conversion efficiencies drop down the optimal ( ƞopt ) ones because the output current of the series-tandem solar cell system is limited to the smallest of the current produced by any of the individual subcells. If this is the case, the currents through each of the subcells are constrained to have the same value. This novel method, we so called by “ The Averaging Method “, solves this problem of un-matching the current through the series-connected subcells by; averaging the sum ( dividing the sum by the number of subcells ) of all the maximum currents of individual independently-operated subcells, next; applying the resulting average maximum current ( as a matching maximum current ) to search for what several candidate subcells ( other than the optimized ones ) such that this matching maximum current is satisfied between each of these candidate subcells. It is proved that the sum of, maximum currents, power, and overall conversion efficiency, of the independently-operated subcells versus those referred to this approach of series-connected candidate subcells, tandem solar cell systems, are equal. Applying this approach method requires no extra than a single; controller, load, as compared to the independently-operated subcells tandem solar system where necessarily is the provision of a special; controller, load, for every subcell utilized; this is simply because now the subcells, both, are current-matched, and in addition, the resulting matching current being maintained equal regardless of solar radiation variations. Calculations are carried under applying solar radiation spectrum of air mass zero ( AM0 ) at several solar intensities and temperatures, for a tandem solar cell systems their subcells ranged, from two up to twelve subcells
Analysis of Cost and Returns of Palm Oil Marketing in Anambra State, Southeast, Nigeria.
Get PDFThe study analyzed the cost and returns of palm oil marketing in Anambra State, Nigeria. Specifically, it described the socioeconomic characteristics of the respondents, examined marketing strategies and profitability of palm oil marketing. A multistage sampling method was used to select 120 respondents for this study. Primary data were collected using a set of structured and pre – tested questionnaires. Statistical tools, including means, percentages, marketing margin and gross margin analysis. Results showed that majority 86% were females, 62% were within age range of 41 – 55, 67% were married, 100% had access to information, personal saving ranked as the highest source of finance, return on investment was 1.48 and profit was N1, 492,000. In spite of dominance of oil palm processing and marketing activities in the State, there are no existing research information on the profitability of oil palm marketing in the area hence this study was necessitated to fill the gap. 
EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP SKILLS: IMPERATIVE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISION IN ANAMBRA STATE
Get PDFThis study examined the administrative effectiveness of headteachers leadership skills on primary school management and supervision in Anambra state, Nigerian. The study employed a descriptive survey research designed. The population of the study comprised 5,435 primary school headteachers and school managers in the six education zones in Anambra state. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 544 headteachers for the study.Data were collected using structured questionnaire of 28 items validated by experts and subjected to reliability testing using cronbach Alpha in which 0.83 was obtained as the reliability index. Data collected were analyzed using weighted mean and standard deviation and t-test at .05 significance. The data was analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively. In view of the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that effective leadership skills can be enhanced by being proactive in discharge of duty and going for constant leadership training and retaining leadership programmes
