EFFECT OF POLLUTION ON THE PHYSIO-CHEMICAL CHARACTERISTIC OF OTAMMIRI RIVER, IMO STATE.
This study was conducted to assess the physiochemical characteristics of Otammiri River in Imo state Nigeria. Samples were taken from three different points along the river. The physio-chemical parameters of the water samples were measured both in-situ and in the laboratory. The parameters measured included Temperature, `pH, biological oxygen demand (BOD) dissolved oxygen (DO), chemical oxygen demand (COD), Electrical conductivity (EC), Turbidity, Total dissolved oxygen (TDS), Alkalinity, Nitrate, Sulphate, chloride, Total hardness. The range values of the measured parameters were compared with world health organization (WHO) standards. The finding showed that all the physio-chemical parameters measured were below the tolerable values ranges except (DO), pH, Temperature. The dissolve oxygen of the water was found to be between 15.62 – 16.73mg/L indicating the abundance growth of phytoplankton with less water flow, which led to the increased generation of oxygen (O2) by photosynthesis activities in the study area as opposed to WHO (10.00mg/L). pH was found to be 5.79 – 6.12; showing the acidity of the study area exceeding WHO (2003) limit of (6.50 ± 8.50) while Temperature was 280C all through the stations. 28.00oC is within the WHO (2003) limit of (20 – 30oC). Some of these parameters studied were significant at (P<0.05) at all the sampling stations. This study has revealed that though Otammiri River is not heavily polluted, but the observed fluctuation of the investigated parameters along the sampling points could be as a result of human activities and environmental degradation through industrialization. It is therefore recommended that adequate monitoring and control of pollution within the River should be encouraged
The Role of Implicit Knowledge in the Development of Human Resources in Saudi Air Navigation Services Company SANS (Proposed Model)
The study is aimed at identifying the impact of tacit knowledge sources within the Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) Company and its influence in the development of the company's human resources. Based on the results of this study, a proposed model – defining the relationship between the implicit knowledge of employees and the human resources development at SANS – can be designed. Furthermore, methods of maximizing the utilization of SANS employees’ implicit knowledge may be constructed, in order to develop the company in line with its vision and objectives. The importance of the study lies in the fundamental point that investing in human resources through their development is a concern for organizations in our time, as they represent a knowledge force that helps the organization to manage and operate them. This study also gained its scientific importance from being the first applied scientific study about implicit knowledge and its role in the development of human resources in the field of air navigation services, which in turn is a very vital field. The study sought to identify the awareness of the company's employees about the existence of implicit knowledge and the importance of benefiting from it to provide best practices in the company. The main study question is: What is the impact of tacit knowledge on human resources development in Saudi Air Navigation Services? There is no relationship between the views of the study sample on the sources of knowledge implicit in the company and the ability to identify them. The variables of the study are: scientific qualification, years of experience, career-level. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the descriptive method through the case study at SANS Company as the appropriate method of study. The survey population was selected through a comprehensive inventory
Theoretical And Methodological Approaches To Study The Level And Quality Of Life Of The Population
The standard of living is an important soc. category, which determines the structure of needs and their satisfaction by man. Human needs are manifold. Together with the material needs are spiritual and social. Need is a need that has taken a special form in accordance with the cultural level and personality of the individual. Because of this, the set of needs of any person is different: some go in for sports, others do not, some devote their leisure time to visiting theaters, others spend their time at the TV or in clubs. Some can only buy domestic cars, while others prefer foreign cars. In order to determine the degree of satisfaction of these needs, the consumption of goods and services is compared with their minimum and rational use. Consequently, the standard of living is the provision of the population with the necessary material goods and services, the achieved level of their consumption and the degree of satisfaction of reasonable (rational) needs

An Analysis of Learners’ Attitudes towards the Use of Virtual Learning Environments in Higher Education Institutions
Virtual learning environments (VLEs) are now seen as a core element in higher education courses, offering facilities and functions that can stimulate teaching and learning. Although it is implicitly assumed thatVLEs offer improvements in learner learning, the majority of the related findings come from direct questionsabout learners' satisfaction with learners VLEs. The current study aimed to analyze learners’ attitudes towardsthe use of virtual learning environments in higher education institutions. To find the exact effect that VLEs haveon learner satisfaction when it comes to teach and learn in a higher education institution, this research collectedinformation from a total of 128 undergraduate learners completed before and after the introduction of VLEs. Theresults clearly showed that VLEs have a positive impact on teaching and learning. Besides, it showed that thelearner wanted a greater variety of teaching and learning methods, deeper enjoyment, interest and confidencebuilding, and more resources after the VLE was implemented
