Procurement Management in Knowledge Project Management: A Critical Analytical Study

    Get PDF
This study examines the relationship between procurement management and knowledge project management in the context of improving institutional performance and overall quality. It is based on the premise that procurement is not just a procedural function, but a field of knowledge in which technical, financial and legal decisions intersect, and that enhancing knowledge management in this field contributes to raising the efficiency of procurement decisions and reducing risks and waste. The study relied on a critical analysis of a number of recent researches that addressed the integration between knowledge management and project management, such as the studies of Al-Shehri and Aqili (2024), Al-Harthi and Al-Fayedi (2020), Putri et al. (2019), Shaqour (2022), and Windapo et al. (2022). The analysis concluded that the literature emphasizes the importance of the knowledge dimension in the success of projects, but often does not measure its direct impact on TQM, revealing a research gap that calls for more comprehensive models that link knowledge project management with TQM dimensions using accurate measurement tools and robust methodological designs

This study aims to explore the role of the knowledge economy in supporting and developing emerging projects within business incubators at Saudi universities, with the goal of achieving sustainable competitive advantage. The importance of this study arises from the accelerating global economic transformations and the growing focus on entrepreneurship and innovation as key drivers of sustainable development. University incubators are viewed as critical environments that nurture startups by offering resources, guidance, and training. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical approach by reviewing literature and analyzing how university-based incubators contribute to transforming knowledge into economic value. The findings demonstrate that integrating knowledge economy principles within incubators significantly enhances innovation, improves product quality, reduces operational costs, and increases the success potential of emerging projects. The study emphasizes the importance of investing in human capital, promoting innovation-driven environments, and establishing strong collaboration between universities, industries, and government bodies. It concludes by recommending the development of specialized educational and training programs, provision of advanced technological infrastructure, and fostering international partnerships to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of startup initiatives within the framework of a knowledge-based economy.Doi: 10.24897/acn.64.68.imaj52025

Identifying the Impact of Abnormal Crowd Behavior in the Mataf Area of the Grand Mosque Through Understanding the Interrelationships Among Crowd Elements

    Get PDF
This study aimed to identify the impact of abnormal crowd behavior in the Mataf area of the Grand Mosque through understanding the interrelationships among various crowd elements, in light of the organizational and security challenges imposed by high human density and the unique ritual nature of the site. The study was motivated by the problem that many crowd management systems rely primarily on numerical indicators or direct visual monitoring, without a comprehensive knowledge framework that interprets collective behavior within its spatial and ritual context or systematically links the different crowd elements. The study adopted a descriptive-analytical approach, based on conceptual and semantic analysis of the relationships among crowd elements, such as crowd density, movement direction, occupancy rate, abnormal behavior, and risk level. This was achieved through employing ontology as a semantic knowledge model that enables the organization of concepts and the structuring of relationships among them. The findings revealed that abnormal crowd behavior cannot be interpreted as an isolated phenomenon or incidental individual behavior; rather, it is the result of a complex relational interaction among spatial, behavioral, and organizational factors. The results also indicated that movement direction and occupancy rate represent critical factors in interpreting abnormal behavior and assessing risk levels, even in situations where crowd density is not high. The study concluded that understanding the interrelationships among crowd elements constitutes an effective scientific approach to enhancing crowd management in sacred sites, supporting security decision-making, and improving the safety of pilgrims, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and the directions of smart Hajj and Umrah initiatives

Knowledge and its management are considered in our current era to be of great importance to achieve organizational excellence for all organizations, and knowledge management processes are considered the translator for implementing knowledge management objectives; therefore, organizations are required to enhance and develop these processes by encouraging their employees to acquire metacognitive skills, as these skills are considered one of the most important fields of knowledge in developing knowledge processes and their tools, as they enhance and support knowledge management processes to keep them valid and renewable in terms of their usefulness and use in processing information and knowledge. Therefore, this paper aimed to review the literature related to the field of metacognitive skills and their relationship to knowledge management processes in organizations, summarize their trends, link them to each other, and track them chronologically. The review also included a review of the historical development of the concepts of the subject together and separately, and the concepts associated with them. The conferences and scientific societies that addressed the subject were also reviewed, as well as research interests in the subject and how they developed in modern intellectual production. Finally, a review of the digital index to track the terms of the subject. The study concluded through reviewing the studies that there are research interests that dealt with metacognitive skills within the framework of knowledge management processes, but they differed in the way they were presented or their variables, which makes it clear that all knowledge management processes need to be enhanced by metacognitive skills.Doi: 10.24897/acn.64.68.imaj72025

Requirements for Sustainable Smart Libraries: A Theoretical Study

    Get PDF
This study aims to identify the requirements for building sustainable smart libraries that can deliver advanced, high-quality services with minimal effort, improve the library environment, and keep pace with technological developments. It also seeks to clarify the concept of sustainable smart libraries and their associated practices. The study adopts a descriptive methodology using content analysis to examine scholarly literature on the topic. Additionally, it reviews models of sustainable smart libraries that utilize modern technologies to provide services to users in an innovative and contemporary manner. The study proposes six key requirements: technical requirements, spatial/building requirements, technological requirements, functional requirements, training requirements, and social requirements. These align with various aspects of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting the digital economy, efficient resource utilization, digital inclusion, and reducing the environmental footprint. The study reflects a vision for constructing libraries that are both smart and environmentally and socially sustainable. It also supports quality of life and resource preservation, serving as a reference guide for libraries aiming to transition into sustainable smart libraries. Ultimately, it helps libraries accommodate users more effectively and improve the quality of their services.Doi: 10.24897/acn.64.68.imaj72025

    Get PDF
Aim: The current research aimed to measure the impact of communication between paramedics and nurses on the speed of medical response in emergency situations. The study was applied to a sample of 357 individuals working in the emergency departments in Taif city. The study concluded with the following findings: The results showed that good communication between paramedics and nurses had a direct positive impact on the speed of medical response in emergency situations. Teams with effective communication were better able to provide rapid and accurate treatment in critical situations. Effective coordination between paramedics and nurses has been shown to help reduce medical errors and increase the efficiency of care delivery. Teams that used integrated communication systems (such as wireless devices or digital apps) were more efficient in carrying out necessary medical steps quickly.     The study recommended The researcher recommends developing training programs for paramedics and nurses that focus on improving interpersonal communication skills in emergency teams. These programs could include training on active listening, crisis management, and giving clear instructions under pressure. It is essential to establish clear mechanisms for coordination between paramedics and nurses in emergency rooms or during transportation to hospitals. These mechanisms should include a clear sequence of medical steps and direct communication methods.https://doi.org/10.24897/acn.64.68.20251224001&nbsp
