Peningkatan Hasil Belajar Siswa di MTs Negeri 3 Sleman melalui Penggunaan Metode Pembelajaran Card Sort
This study aims to identify improvements in learning outcomes of the Quran Hadith through the active sort card learning method in students of grade VIII-C MTs Negeri 3 Sleman Odd Semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is a type of classroom action research through two cycles. The subject of the study was a grade VIII-C student at MTs Negeri 3 Sleman. Data collection techniques in the form of learning outcomes tests taken from giving test questions in each cycle, questionnaire results and interviews with students to provide input on the course of the research process. The results showed that the use of active sort card learning methods can improve the learning outcomes of the Quran Hadith. In pretest cycle 1, the grade point average was 72.50 while at the time of post-test the grade point average was 80.00. While in cycle 2 the average pretest score was 73.50 while the post-test average score was 82.00. The classical completeness criteria also increased by 75% (24 students) in cycle 1 and 93.75% (30 students) in cycle 2
Integrasi Teknik Gambar Self-Directed Learning dan Tutor Sebaya dalam Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menggambar Siswa
Drawing ability is one of the important competencies in the field of engineering and art education, which requires conceptual understanding, creativity, and technical skills. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of the integration of Self-Directed Learning (SDL) techniques and peer tutor methods in improving students\u27 drawing skills. SDL\u27s approach encourages students to independently plan, execute, and evaluate their learning process, while the peer tutor method optimizes social interaction to strengthen understanding and skills. The results of the study show that the integration of SDL techniques and peer tutors provides a holistic approach to drawing learning, which not only improves technical abilities but also builds students\u27 independence and social skills. The recommendations of this study include the development of SDL-based interactive modules and peer tutor training to support wider implementation
Enhancing Curriculum Monitoring Systems: Case Study of Arabic Language Education at STAIN Mandailing Natal
This study aims to evaluate the monitoring, supervision, and curriculum improvement system in the Arabic Language Education Study Program at Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Negeri Mandailing Natal (STAIN Madina), assessing its effectiveness in enhancing Arabic language competence and supporting Islamic learning. Utilizing a qualitative research design, the study employs a case study methodology, combining interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that the monev system, involving comprehensive planning, implementation, and reporting, effectively covers graduate competency standards, content standards, process standards, and learning assessment standards. The structured approach, involving multiple stakeholders, ensures thorough evaluation and continuous improvement. However, limitations such as the need for more in-depth internal supervision of content standards and challenges related to human resources and stakeholder engagement were noted. These findings are significant for higher education institutions aiming to enhance their curriculum systems, offering a model for structured monitoring and supervision. Further research is recommended to explore integrated internal supervision mechanisms and long-term effects on student outcomes
The Development of Electronic-based Student Worksheets to Facilitate the Critical Thinking Skills of Tenth Graders
Smartphones become something familiar to learners. Most learners have smartphones. Learners require guidance to use smartphones for learning. This matter becomes the principle of developing an electronic-based worksheet. Based on the encountered problems especially the materials about renewable energy and critical thinking, the learners needed the development of an electronic-based worksheet to facilitate their cognitive skills within the material of renewable energy. This research and development, R&D, applied the 4D design, starting from defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. However, this research only lasted until the development stage specifically the limited test. The result showed the category of extremely excellent from the learners. On the other hand, the implementation of the whole aspect was done excellently
Implementasi Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa pada Pembelajaran MIPA
This research aims to: 1) describe the implementation of HOTS in the learning process on student learning outcomes in Mathematics and Natural Sciences learning; and 2) describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing HOTS in Mathematics and Natural Sciences learning. The method used in this research is the Systematic Literature Review method or literature study which focuses on the process of reviewing and analyzing thoroughly several pieces of literature that are appropriate to the research topic. The results of this research show that: 1) the application of HOTS in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences learning process has proven to be effective in improving student learning outcomes. This effectiveness can be seen from changes in students\u27 cognitive aspects, where in conventional learning they tend to use low-level thinking (LOTS), while with the implementation of HOTS, they begin to develop high-level thinking abilities, such as critical, creative and evaluative thinking. These three aspects equip students with a more mature mindset, enabling them to face and solve various problems in various situations; and 2) supporting factors for HOTS implementation include teacher competency, facilities and infrastructure, classroom management and learning planning. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors in implementing HOTS are inadequate teacher education qualifications and a relatively low level of teacher understanding regarding HOTS.

Cultivating Patriotism in Early Childhood Education: The "Angkasa Berbudaya" Program at Angkasa Adisutjipto Kindergarten
Fostering patriotism in early childhood is a critical challenge in an era of globalisation, where traditional values risk being overshadowed by modern influences. This study investigates the cultivation of patriotism in early childhood through the "Angkasa Berbudaya" program at Angkasa Adisutjipto Kindergarten in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving 20 students, five educators, and the school principal. The program integrates local culture, science, and technology to foster national identity while introducing global perspectives. Arts-based approaches, including traditional dance, angklung music, and marching bands, instil cultural appreciation, self-discipline, and creativity. Additionally, patriotism is embedded through national ceremonies, storytelling, and wearing traditional attire, promoting values like love for the homeland, discipline, and cooperation. Findings indicate that the program supports cognitive, social, and emotional development, contributing to a well-rounded education that balances tradition and modernity. However, challenges include inadequate facilities, limited parental involvement, and the absence of systematic evaluations to assess the program\u27s long-term impact. Recommendations include improving resources, enhancing parental engagement, and incorporating broader multicultural perspectives to strengthen the program\u27s effectiveness. This study underscores the significant role of culturally integrated education in fostering patriotism and social cohesion, offering a replicable model for early childhood education. By blending local heritage with global insights, the program prepares children to value diversity while maintaining a strong sense of national identity. Future research should focus on longitudinal impacts and scalable strategies for integrating patriotism into early education curricula
Creative Freedom and Holistic Growth: Implementation of the STEAM Approach in Islamic Early Childhood Education
The rapid evolution of technology continues to drive the demand for highly skilled human resources capable of competing in an increasingly dynamic global environment. Preparing superior human resources from an early age is crucial to meeting these demands. This study investigates how the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach is implemented and its impact on early childhood education at RA Fun Islamic School in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, data were gathered through observations, semi-structured interviews with educators, parents, and administrators, as well as an analysis of relevant documentation. The findings highlight STEAM\u27s focus on nurturing creative freedom, critical thinking, and collaboration among young learners. Children participating in activities such as building structures and integrating arts with mathematics showed notable outcomes, including independent problem-solving and the development of unique solutions. The study also emphasizes the role of introducing simple engineering concepts and integrating technology to create dynamic and engaging learning environments. Despite these benefits, challenges like limited resources and the need for teacher training were identified. This research underscores the transformative potential of STEAM in promoting cognitive and social growth in early childhood education. Future studies should explore how this approach can be scaled to diverse educational settings and evaluate its long-term effects
Implementation of Islamic Education Values in Building Students\u27 Religious Character through an Affective Approach Based on the Qur\u27an
Islamic education is a strategic vehicle and an urgent variable for preparing excellent and high-quality human resources. However, it is currently experiencing weakening due to the storms and waves of globalization. Accordingly, it requires effective and sustainable handling.
Purpose – This article is one of the creative efforts that aims to build the attitudes of students in elementary schools with religious character through the implementation of Islamic education values with an affectionate approach that is polite, gentle, caring, and compassionate based on the Qur\u27an.
Design/method/approach – This research method was descriptive qualitative, as library research. Data sources were books, teaching materials, journals, and other relevant information. The data was analyzed using critical text analysis techniques. The data collection technique was documentation.
Findings – The research has shown that implementing the Islamic education values of affection approach can build students\u27 religious character through 1) the use of learning methods of affection, tenderness, and attention inherent in educators. 2) the use of learning styles of affectionate Islamic education values reflected in attitudes, interests, morals, values, and self-concepts that are passionate, enthusiastic, and fun. 3) the application of learning Islamic education values through habituation, imitation, and appreciation patterns embodied by educators.
Research Implications/limitations – This research can have implications for teachers\u27 teaching methods in instilling the values of compassion, care, and gentleness in face-to-face learning in the classroom.
Originality/value – Integrating the three elements of affective value reconstruction simultaneously in the learning process can improve students\u27 academic achievement, religious awareness, and good behavior
Innovative Digital Media in Islamic Religious Education Learning
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to discover and describe the form of innovation in Islamic religious learning that uses digital media/social media as an effective and relevant learning medium in keeping with the demands of technological developments. This study also investigates Islamic Religious Education (PAI) activities in using technology that inspires learning through social media applications.
Design/methods/approach – This study used a literature research method with a qualitative approach. Research data was collected from a variety of sources, including books, scientific journals, proceedings, and other relevant publications. This study used a data analysis paradigm that included data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion.
Findings – The researcher obtained five (5) types of social media applications used by PAI teachers. The study is also restricted by vulnerable years limited to 2019-2023. Accordingly, the social media used by PAI teachers in learning have included (1) Tik-Tok (6 journals), (2) YouTube (10 journals), (3) WhatsApp (9 journals), (4) Facebook (6 journals), and (5) Instagram (5 journals) with a total of 36 journals. PAI teachers have played a role in education transformation by utilizing technology as a more interactive, accessible, effective, and compelling learning medium.
Research implications/limitations – The data sources obtained were only limited to online scientific literature. Therefore, the researcher\u27s suggestion for future researchers is to conduct practice field research to allow more accurate results according to the conditions of problems in the field.
Originality/Value – The findings of this study provide an overview of the form of learning innovation that has been carried out in PAI learning with the use of digital media. This finding is also a reference for future researchers to make it easier to find a novelty result
Transformation of Boarding School Management Models in Enhancing Student Accessibility and Educational Quality
Purpose – Boarding schools in Indonesia integrate Islamic religious education with general education, offering a comprehensive learning and living experience for students. This model is effective in character building, moral value reinforcement, tolerance promotion, social integrity, and responsibility, all while emphasizing knowledge and technology mastery. However, these schools face challenges, including high costs, geographical barriers, and stringent academic requirements that limit accessibility for some students. This research underscores the need for management transformation in boarding schools to enhance accessibility and education quality while preserving the unique values and identity of pesantren.
Design/methods/approach – Utilizing a literature review methodology, this study critically summarizes and evaluates relevant research to provide a comprehensive understanding of the transformation of boarding school management in Indonesia.
Findings – The findings indicate that boarding schools must adapt to socio-cultural contexts and incorporate information and communication technology into management and learning processes. The study also reveals that parental involvement, effective management, and support for students\u27 mental and physical health are crucial for the success of boarding schools.
Research implications/limitations – Future research should focus on integrating ICT to improve educational outcomes and administrative efficiency, assessing holistic education models, evaluating economic empowerment programs, and examining mental health initiatives, as well as exploring collaborative efforts to enhance community engagement and support for students.
Originality/value – Strengthening pesantren culture can address issues such as bullying, poor nutrition, and financial difficulties. Transformational management practices can meet the evolving educational needs and dynamic desires of parents and students while maintaining the core values of pesantren in Indonesia
