    No full text
This study investigates the influence of the family environment on the learning outcomes of Generation Z students at SMA Negeri 1 Wuryantorο, Indonesia. The research was motivated by increasing concern over how family conditions shape student learning in the digital era, particularly for adolescents who are highly exposed to technology. A quantitative explanatory survey design was employed, involving 106 Grade XI students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated and reliable self-administered questionnaires measuring family environment and perceived learning outcomes across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and simple linear regression, following confirmation of validity, reliability, and normality assumptions. The results reveal a strong and significant positive relationship between the family environment and learning outcomes, with a correlation coefficient of 0.698. Regression analysis indicates that the family environment explains 48.7% of the variance in students’ learning outcomes, demonstrating its substantial predictive power. These findings highlight that supportive family conditions remain a critical determinant of academic achievement for Generation Z students, despite the growing dominance of digital learning contexts. The study has important implications for educational practice and policy, emphasizing the need to strengthen school–family partnerships and family-centered educational interventions to reduce achievement disparities. Limitations include the single-school context and reliance on self-reported learning outcomes. Future research is recommended to involve broader samples, objective academic measures, and longitudinal or mixed-methods designs to deepen understanding of family influences on student learning

    No full text
Students\u27 difficulties in solving probabilistic problems occur due to their lack of knowledge and understanding of probability concepts. Probabilistic thinking skills are essential to enhance students\u27 ability to solve probabilistic problems in everyday life. This qualitative research aims to describe student’s levels of probabilistic thinking in solving probability problems reviewed from Honey Mumford\u27s learning style. The research subjects consisted of eight ninth-grade students from a State Tsanawiyah Madrasah of Batu City. The primary instrument in this study was the researcher, supported by additional instruments such as probabilistic thinking test and a task-based interview guide. Data were collected through written tests, task-based interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the constant comparative method which includes the stages of reduction, categorization, synthesis, and substantive theory preparation. The results showed that students with activist and pragmatist learning styles met all indicators at level 1 of subjective thinking, while reflector and theorist students showed wider variations up to level 3 if informal quantitative thinking and some at level 4 of numerical thinking. This finding implies that differences in learning styles contribute to student’s probabilistic thinking abilities at each level

The Affective Nexus: Weaving Individual Behavior and Organizational Culture in an Indonesian Islamic Boarding School

    No full text
This study investigates the intricate dynamics between individual behavior and organizational culture within the context of Islamic boarding school education. The primary aim is to explore the foundations of student motivation, the perception of the organizational climate, and the influence of emotion on the learning environment. This research employed a qualitative case study design at Aswaja Bungo Pesantren in Jambi, Indonesia. Data were gathered over two months through participant observation, semi-structured interviews with fifteen purposively selected teachers (ustadz), staff, and students (santri), and analysis of institutional documents. Thematic analysis, guided by the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, was utilized to interpret the data. The findings reveal that student learning motivation is driven principally by non-material recognition from teachers and the contextual relevance of the curriculum, rather than by material rewards. A supportive organizational climate, characterized by informal and empathetic teacher-student interactions, was found to be fundamental in establishing psychological safety. Furthermore, the study identifies a strong correlation between teachers\u27 positive emotional expressions and the collective classroom mood, which directly enhances student engagement and participation. A secondary finding indicates that teacher job satisfaction, fostered by institutional appreciation, positively influences the quality of their pedagogical interactions. This research underscores that affective and relational dynamics are not peripheral but central to the educational process in religious boarding schools. The study\u27s implications suggest a need for educational leaders to integrate emotional pedagogy into teacher training and institutional strategies. This research is limited by its single-site design; therefore, caution is advised in generalizing the findings. Future research is recommended, utilizing longitudinal or comparative mixed-methods approaches to validate these insights across diverse institutional contexts

Early childhood education requires a learning approach that is appropriate to the characteristics of cognitive development and the multisensory needs of children. The learning of hijaiyah letters in PAUD-based institutions still faces challenges in the application of conventional methods that are less effective in arousing the interest of children aged 4-5 years. This study aims to describe the implementation of Hijaiyah Pop Up Book media in introducing hijaiyah basic letters, identifying supporting and inhibiting factors, and evaluating learning outcomes. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study at RA Tarbiyatus Shibyan Banyuwangi on 16 children aged 4-5 years. Data collection techniques used participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model with data triangulation. The results of the study showed that the Hijaiyah Pop Up Book media significantly increased children\u27s involvement and ability to recognize basic hijaiyah letters. This media creates a multisensory learning experience that combines visual, kinesthetic, and cognitive aspects according to the characteristics of child development. Most children achieve the Expected Development (BSH) and Very Good Developed (BSB) categories in cognitive, linguistic, social-emotional, and fine motor aspects. Supporting factors include children\u27s high enthusiasm and teacher support, while the limited number of media is the main obstacle. The Pop Up Book media has proven to be effective as an innovative alternative to learning hijaiyah letters that integrates Islamic values in early childhood education

Character is one of the important things that must be formed from an early age. The formation of character in children does not occur spontaneously, there is a process that is passed through stimulation. One of the characters that must be formed is responsibility. This study aims to determine the habit of praying Ashar in congregation in improving the character of responsibility of early childhood at TPQ Darul Muttaqin, Buayan District. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation. The subjects of this study were male and female students of TPQ Daarul Muttaqin Buayan Kebumen.  The results of the study showed that the habit of praying Ashar in congregation is carried out every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday routinely. The habit of praying in congregation also forms an attitude of discipline, independence, and responsibility in children. Children begin to get used to coming on time for congregational prayers, performing ablution independently, getting used to queuing and tidying up their own prayer equipment. This activity also encourages children to have a sense of social responsibility, such as reminding friends to join in ablution. The conclusion of this study is that the habit of praying in congregation is an effective strategy in forming a character of responsibility in early childhood
