    No full text
Creativity and innovation are essential competencies for elementary school students; however, learning practices in many Indonesian elementary schools remain teacher-centered and provide limited opportunities for creative and innovative activities. In addition, local cultural values that can support contextual learning are often underutilized. Therefore, this study aims to develop a learning model grounded in Madurese local wisdom that employs STEAM as an integrative instructional approach to enhance students’ creativity and innovation at the elementary school level. This study used a research and development method with the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The effectiveness of the developed model was tested using a one-group pretest–posttest design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, questionnaires, documentation, pretest–posttest instruments, and product-based assessments. Students’ creativity was measured using Torrance indicators (fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration), while innovation was assessed through indicators of idea adaptation, simple implementation, usefulness, and initiative appropriate to elementary students’ developmental levels. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, N-Gain, and paired-sample t-tests, while qualitative data were analyzed through data reduction, display, and verification. The results indicate that the developed learning model is valid, practical, and effective. Students’ creativity increased from 57.3 to 86.6, and innovation increased from 55.8 to 84.1, with moderate-to-high N-Gain scores. The model supports contextual and culture-based learning by strengthening creativity, innovation, and STEAM-related competencies while preserving Madurese local wisdom

Purpose – This research is aimed at finding out if AI-optimized YouTube videos can improve the students \u27 Islamic religious Education at the SMKN. Although digital tools in education are becoming more popular, It has not been tested  in religious and labor contexts. This gap is addressed by this work, where we assess AI\u27s potential to enhance performance and engagement by focusing on a specialized educational context. The novelty of this research lies in being among the first to apply AI-driven video optimization specifically within Islamic religious and vocational education, an area rarely explored in prior studies. Design/methods/approach – A quasi-experimental design was employed, comparing an experimental group (n=50) exposed to AI-optimized videos with a control group (n=50) receiving traditional instruction. The intervention lasted eight weeks, using videos enhanced with automated subtitles, personalized pacing, and interactive quizzes. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests (30-item MCQs) and a 5-point Likert scale engagement survey. Statistical analysis included paired and independent t-tests to measure score differences and effect sizes. Findings – The AI group significantly outperformed the control group, with a 10.3-point increase in post-test scores (p < 0.001) and a large effect size (d = 1.43). Engagement metrics showed high approval (mean = 4.3/5), particularly for content clarity and interactivity. However, 28% of students reported technical difficulties, and 19% preferred traditional methods. Research implications/limitations – While results demonstrate AI\u27s efficacy, the single-school sampling limits generalizability. Infrastructure challenges (reported by 42% of participants) highlight implementation barriers. Future studies should expand to diverse institutions and assess long-term retention. Limited vocabulary, grammatical constraints, and a uniform traditional assessment system often hamper Arabic writing skills. This study aims to analyze improvements in student learning outcomes and motivation through the application of “Arab Point Games,” an assessment innovation that integrates gamification with differentiated instruction. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model in two cycles. The research subjects involved 33 students of class X-B at MAN 1 Pamekasan in the 2025/2026 academic year. Research data were collected through observation, writing skills tests, and reflective notes, which were validated by experts and tested for reliability through triangulation. Quantitative analysis showed the intervention\u27s success, based on a minimum increase of 10 points in the score, a classical completion rate of 85%, and a learning motivation rate of 80%. The results showed a significant improvement in students\u27 writing skills. The average score increased from 23.94 in the pre-action stage to 28.00 in Cycle I, and reached 44.39 in Cycle II. Cumulatively, there was an average increase of 20.45 points with a percentage increase of 85.4%. In addition to cognitive achievements, the data show an affective transformation in which students began to dare to take on high-level challenges, reduced linguistic anxiety, and increased active participation, exceeding the 80% success indicator. These findings prove that the “Arab Point Games” intervention is effective in accommodating differences in student learning speeds through an adaptive assessment system. This study contributes theoretically by shifting the paradigm from Assessment of Learning to a more inclusive Assessment as Learning. In practice, this model offers educators a solution for creating an Arabic-language learning ecosystem that is responsive to individual diversity.
