    Effect of Sprouting Temperature on Durum Wheat (Triticum Durum) Sprouts Nutritional Properties and Bioactive Compounds

    Sprouting is an old food engineering tool to improve edible seeds nutritional value. It can improve carbohydrate digestibility and enhance levels of bioactive compounds. These changes are strongly related to sprouting conditions%253A temperature, light, duration. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of sprouting temperature on sprouts bioactive molecules and proximate composition of Chili Tunisian durum wheat (Triticum durum) seeds. Hence, two temperatures were tested%253A 18deg%253BC and 25deg%253BC. Analysis of ashes, proteins, lipids, reducing sugars, carotenoids, vitamin C, vitamin E, and total phenols contents and DPPH radical scavenging activity were done. Our results indicated that temperature influenced significantly proximate composition of sprouts, as well as bioactive compounds. Vitamin C and tocopherols levels were higher at 25deg%253BC, than in raw seeds. In contrast, a temperature of 18deg%253BC led to highest amounts of carotenoids and total phenols. In addition, antioxidant properties of durum wheat seeds were improved by sprouting only at 18deg%253BC.     This work aims to study the influence of some factors on the expression of the foaling heat in Arab mares. This study was held in Tunisia, from January to May 2018. For this, 59 Tunisian Arab mares were separated into 2 groups (young mares, age lt%253B15 years, n%253D41%253B and old mares, age ge%253B15 years, n%253D18), and monitored amid the post partum period. The parturition mode (eutocic, dystocic) was noted, and the onset of the foaling heat and its duration recorded. Follicular activity was monitored using ultrasonography to track the side at which the ovulation occurred. ANOVA was carried out using the software SAS (SAS Institute Inc.reg%253B) to study the effect of age and parturition mode on the onset of foaling heat and its duration. The Duncan test was used to compare the variations according to the age and the parturition mode. The onset of the foaling heat and its duration did not vary with the age class (7.5plusmn%253B0.2 vs 7.3plusmn%253B0.2 days%253B 5plusmn%253B0.5 vs 7.8plusmn%253B0.3 days), but had more important values in mares with dystocia (8plusmn%253B1.2 vs 7.4plusmn%253B0.2 days, plt%253B0.05%253B 6plusmn%253B1.8 vs 5plusmn%253B0.5 days, plt%253B0.05). Significantly more ovulations occurred in the left ovary than in the right one (55%25 vs 45%25). Furthermore, silent heat occurred at the rate of 20%25, while all females resumed an ovulatory function. Our results suggest that dystocia increase the onset delay of the foaling heat and its duration, and that the left ovary tends to retrieve its function faster than the right one

    Sixteen new Bulgarian common winter wheat cultivars developed at DAI ndash%253B General Toshevo currently in mass production were investigated. The aim of the study was to evaluate their response to changes in the climatic conditions. The following important economic parameters were assessed%253A productivity, protein content, test weight, bread volume, valorimetric value, sedimentation, wet gluten content, softening degree and H%253AD. The experiment was carried out during 2015 ndash%253B 2017 according to the block design method, the size of the trial plot being 10 m2. The interaction genotype x climatic conditions was studied using AMMI models. The assessed statistical parameters were at the basis of the ranking of the investigated cultivars by the economic indices regarding their adaptability to the changes in the climate.     New quot%253BAcidic Acetatic Indexquot%253B (AAI) for determination of the level of acidification and acid stability of wines was proposed. AAI was the ratio between the amount of volatile acids (g.dm-3) and the amount of ethyl acetate (mg.dm-3) in the wine. A scale for determination the degree of acidification and acid stability of wine, based on the values of the new AAI indicator was proposed. The scale consists of four ranges formed by the AAI values%253A 1 (AAI le%253B 0.0002) - Poor acidic stability, high probability for apparent acidification due to spoilage%253B 2 (0.0002 lt%253B AAI le%253B 0.002) - Relatively good acidic stability but with possible acidification due to spoilage%253B 3 (0.002 lt%253B AA Ile%253B 0.02) - Very good acidic stability%253B 4 (0.02 le%253B AAI) - Excellent acidic stability. An analysis of 12 red wines was carried out and the values of the new AAI indicator were determined. The lowest AAI was found in sample 11 (AAI %253D 0.007), and the highest in sample 9 (AAI %253D 0.078). Wine sample 11 was fell within range 3 of the suggested scale. This range characterized it as having a very good acidic stability. Wine sample 9 was fell within range 4 of the AAI scale. It was characterized by excellent acidic stability. The new AAI index and its scale can be used as an adequate indicator to characterize the acidification due to spoilage process. It can find application in research practice as well as a control indicator in wine production practice

    Soil Microorganisms Quantitative Dynamic Characterizing the Overall Biological State in Rhizosphere of Tobacco and Tomato Plants Infected by Broomrape

    The quantitative dynamics of soil microorganisms in the rhizosphere of tobacco and tomato plants infected by broomrape %252FPhelipanche ramosa L.%252F were investigated. Parallel pot experiments with the two hosts of the parasite - Oriental type of tobacco and tomato were presented. The variants were%253A by introducing contamination into the soil - seeds by broomrape and control pots - without the seeds by broomrape. Experiments were carried out under controlled conditions. Soil samples for microbiological analyzes were taken from the rhizosphere, in dynamics. The microbiological analyses were executed according to Kohs, in three replications (MPN%252Fg a.d.s), with confidence level 0.05. The surveyed set of soil microorganisms has been comprised two indicators groups characterizing the overall biological state of the microbial communities%253A Autochthonous (on soil extract agar) and Oligotrophic (on diluted soil extract agar). Diversity indexes Shannon (H) and Simpson (D) and the distribution evenness (EH) in the microbial communities were determined. A statistical analysis has been made. The obtained results showed that the quantities of the two groups of microorganisms begun to change visibly around and after 20th day, compared to the amount at the rhizosphere of uninfected by broomrape plants. There was an increase at the population density of autochthonous microorganisms between 20 and 60 days and reduced significantly after this period. The trend was reversed at oligotrophic microorganisms, but the quantities were higher throughout the study period. These dynamics coincide with the phases of broomrape development - germination, formation of a haustorium (about 10-20th day) and attachment to the root of the host (up to about 40-60 days) and the above-ground phases (80-100 days). The analysis showed that microbial communities formed in rhizospheres in the presence of a broomrape had been an oligotrophic character. The relative share of oligotrophic microorganisms in these microbial communities was over 50%25 at both host rhizospheres

    Application of the Herbicides Wing P and Stratos Ultra for Weed Control in Newly-Planted Vineyard

    At the Experimental Base of the Institute of Viticulture and Enology, Pleven, Bulgaria it was carried out a three-year planting (2014, 2015 and 2016) of a vineyard for chemicals testing for weed control. Each variant included 20 Cabernet Sauvignon vines grafted to Berlandieri X Riparia Selection Oppenheim 4 (SO 4) rootstock as it was repeated every year of the study. A single spray with Wing P (pendimethalin 250 g%252Fl %2B dimethenamid P 212.5 g%252Fl) at doses of 0.4 and 0.6 l%252Fda was performed immediately after planting the vines and once with Stratos Ultra (100 g%252Fl cycloxydim) at a dose of 0.2 l%252Fda during the active vegetation stage of the wheat weeds. It was not found a negative impact on the bud germination and the shoot growth and maturation. Applied at a dose of 0.6 l%252Fda, Wing P showed the best control over one-year weed vegetation in the vineyard as the treated vines had more intensive development and mature growth of greater length and mass

    Rice is a cereal plant and staple food for most Indonesian people. One of the causes of the problem is decrease of wetland and lowland area which have impact on national level production. One of the efforts to increase rice production is selection to get desired trait. Regression and correlation analysis to determined the relationship among characters that can be used as a consideration for selection criterion. The purpose of this study is to know the relationships between morphological and agronomic characters in rice plant of F2 generation. This study was conducted at the Experimental Faculty of Agriculture, University of Brawijaya, Jatimulyo Village, Malang, between June and August 2018. Planting materials were population of F2 generation (SBCH, SBCB, TWCH dan TWCB). All of the populations planted in area 25 m x 3 m with spacing 60 cm x 60 cm. Based on the result, all of the populations showed that there was positif linear relationship between plant height and panicle length, number of tiller, and number of productif tiller. TWCH population showed strong and significant positive correlation in leaf length and number of tiller. Very strong and significant positive correlation showed by all of F2 generation in plant height with panicle length and number of productive tillers with number of tillers

    Effect of the Essential Oil of Mentha Piperita and Thymus Numidicus on the Growth of Fusarium Sp

    The polluting substances are of industrial or agricultural origin, at the level of the different ecosystems. These are the effects of synthetic products on the fauna and flora we are interested in. So our use of biopesticides based on plant extracts, namely essential oils as a natural insecticide is our concern. These bioactive substances or molecules are of great ecological interest because they are very harmful to the ecosystem. The objective of this study is the use of the essential oil of Mentha peperita harvested from the area of Larabaa (Blida) and Thymus numidicus recovered from the area of Bouira as biofungicides with respect to a fungal strain isolated and identified from the leaves of the zucchini crop in Boudouaou-El Bahri (Boumerdes). The isolated species belongs to the genus Fusarium. The extraction method is the hydraudistilation which allowed us to have yields of essential oil of 2.02%25 for M. peperita and 1.2%25 for T. numidicus. The study of the antifungal activity of these two oils tested was carried out by the direct contact method. The evaluation of the antifungal effect of these two extracts shows that the essential oil of T. numidicus has an inhibitory capacity on mycelial growth. T. numidicus oil is moderately active for concentrations%253B 400 mu%253Bl 700 mu%253Bl is inhibition rates%253B 43.33%25 and 50%25. This natural substance is active with the 1000 mu%253Bl dose, with an inhibition rate of 53.33%25. It appears from this study that M. piperita oil is not very active on Fusarium sp with the following concentrations%253B 400 mu%253Bl 700 mu%253Bl and 1000 mu%253Bl are inhibition rates respectively of 23%25, 21.66%25, and 23%25. The essential oil of Peppermint has a slightly inhibitory activity on Fusarium sp with an inhibition zone diameter of 4.6 cm, 4.7 cm and 4.6 cm respectively for doses 400 mu%253Bl 700 mu%253Bl and 1000 mu%253Bl. So, it is found that the increase in M. piperita oil concentration has no effect on the growth of Fusarium sp. Fusarium sp also shows an allergy to T. numidicus oil, while this plant pathogen is resistant to M. piperita oil

Sleep deprivation affects a large spectrum of vital systems such as thermoregulation, energy and mineral balance, and immunofunction. Based on the fact that sleep is a very important process for the normal development of many metabolic pathways, it is logical to think that insomnia has serious organism consequences. Functional irregularities of different organs are always reflected in structural changes that can be identified with imaging techniques.     After-effect of Foliar-Applied Herbicides for Broad-leaved Weeds on the Primary Germ Length of Cotton Seeds (Gossypium Hirsutum L.)

    The trial was carried out during 2013-2015, with twelve cotton cultivars (Gossypium hirsutum L.). Influence of herbicides Bazagran 480 SL (bentazone), Pulsar 40 (imazamox) and Express 50 VG (tribenuron-methyl) was studied. These herbicides were used during the budding stage of cotton. The herbicide Bazagran 480 SL has the highest phytotoxicity on the primary germ length of seeds of cotton cultivars Chirpan-539 and Trakia and the lowest on cultivar Natalia. The herbicide Pulsar 40 has the highest phytotoxicity on the primary germ length of seeds of cotton cultivar Dorina and the lowest on the cultivars IPK-Veno and Viki. The herbicide Express 50 VG has the highest phytotoxicity on the primary germ length of seeds of the cotton cultivar Chirpan-539 and the lowest on the cultivars Helius and Trakia. From the viewpoint of cotton growing technology, technologically the most valuable are all cultivars, by foliar treatment with herbicide Bazagran 480 SL. Technologically the most valuable are cultivars Viki, IPK-Veno, Boyana and Natalia by foliar treatment with herbicide Pulsar 40. Technologically the most valuable are cultivars Helius, Trakia, Viki, Avangard and Nelina by foliar treatment with herbicide Express 50 VG. These variants combine high primary germ lengths and high stability of this index during the different years
