However, overfishing and unsustainable practices threaten the long-term viability of this resource. This study aims to assess the current level of fish exploitation and analyze appropriate management strategies for yellowfin tuna fisheries in WPP-715. The Cost-Yield-Profit (CYP) model was used to evaluate optimal fisheries from both input and output perspectives. The result in this study shows that bioeconomic assessment shows that under (Maximum Sustainable Yield) MSY conditions, biomass reached 2,617,152 kg with a catch of 577,292 kg and 20,353 fishing trips. Under (Maximum Economic Yield) MEY conditions, biomass was higher at 3,226,476.00 kg with a catch of 546,000 kg and 15,614 fishing trips, yielding a maximum economic benefit of Rp 18,008,031,386. Bioeconomic analysis revealed that the current state of the fishery is overfished, exceeding both MSY and MEY levels. This study underscores the urgent need for sustainable management strategies to prevent further stock depletion and economic losses
Kondisi Sosial Budaya Nelayan Tradisional Dan Teknis Dalam Penggunaan Pancing Ulur (Hand Line) Di Dok IX Kelurahan Tanjung Ria Kota Jayapura
Jayapura City is a coastal area that has the potential of marine resources, making it the center of economic activity for fishermen. The fishermen who live in Dock IX consist of two tribes, namely Serui and Buton, who have long been fishing in the waters of Jayapura. The culture of fishermen from both tribes is closely related to an orientation towards the sea. However, this needs to be balanced with the use of environmentally friendly fishing gear so that in the future, the sustainability of fishery resources, especially Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus albacares), can be maintained. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the fishing gear used in the fishing process and the socio-cultural conditions of traditional fishermen in fishing using handlines. Primary and secondary data collection was conducted from March to May 2025 at Dock IX, Tanjung Ria Village, Jayapura City. The social conditions of fishermen were observed in terms of age, education, length of time working as fishermen, and number of dependents in Dok IX, Tanjung Ria Village, Jayapura City. From a cultural perspective, the Buton tribe does not catch fish (as it is not fishing season), so they offer sacrifices by feeding the sea. They believe that by feeding the sea, they will catch a lot of fish. In contrast, the Serui community does not perform rituals (customs) to make offerings in the process of catching fish. They use fiberglass boats, Yamaha engines with a capacity of 15 horsepower, and fish in the waters of Jayapura City, Pasir 6, Papua New Guinea, and even the waters of Sarmi Regency
Karakteristik Fisik dan Organoleptik Sirup Buah Galoba dengan Penambahan Sukrosa
Galoba (Hornstedtia alliacea) is a local fruit commodity from Maluku characterized by abundant juice and a distinctive sweet–sour flavor, making it suitable for syrup production. This study aimed to determine the optimal sucrose concentration for producing high-quality galoba syrup based on physical and sensory properties. A completely randomized design with one factor—sucrose concentration—was applied, with three replications. The results indicated that the 70% sucrose treatment yielded the best outcomes, with a pH of 3.42 and total soluble solids (TSS) of 60.33 °Brix. Sensory evaluation showed favorable scores for color (3.15), taste (3.55), aroma (3.35), texture (2.55), and overall acceptance (3.60). In terms of hedonic quality, the syrup was characterized by a brownish-yellow color (2.85), sweet taste (3.40), distinctive galoba aroma (2.95), and thick texture (2.60). These findings suggest that a 70% sucrose concentration produces galoba syrup with desirable physicochemical and sensory attributes

Rice is a food crop that plays an important role in meeting the food needs of the community. Rice production in Tanggul Wetan Village has decreased for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022. One of the efforts to increase rice production is to use superior varieties. The majority of farmers in Tanggul Wetan Village use Ciherang and Inpari 32 varieties of rice. However, the use of superior varieties is not entirely an effort to increase production. There are other problems that result in production risks. The purpose of this study was to find out the sources of risk, risk magnitude, and risk management strategies for rice production of Ciherang and Inpari 32 varieties. This research method used descriptive, analytical, and comparative methods through primary and secondary data collection. Based on the results of the study, the sources of production risk consisted of weather changes, pest and disease attacks, wind attacks, and inappropriate use of chemical pesticides. The coefficient of variation in the production risk of Inpari 32 rice variety was 0.20, which was lower than that of Ciherang rice variety of 0.30. Risk management strategies consisted of preventive and mitigation strategies. The use of this strategy was based on the average values of the probability and risk impact of rice production of Ciherang and Inpari 32 varieties, which were 2.5% and Rp 2,299,736. If it is more than this value, then the probability and impact of production risk is large. So, it is overcome by using preventive and mitigation strategies
