    Get PDF
This classroom action research was conducted in 2024 at SMA Negeri 42 Maluku Tengah, specifically in grade X Biology, focusing on the Plantae topic. The study was motivated by the low student engagement and learning outcomes, which were evident from several factors, including lack of enthusiasm during lessons, minimal participation in learning activities, the perceived irrelevance of the material to daily life, and overall poor academic performance. To address these issues, a combination of the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach and the Role Playing model was implemented. This strategy aimed to enhance students' comprehension by connecting the material to real-world experiences, thereby improving their academic performance. Conducted in two cycles, the study revealed a significant improvement, with student motivation reaching 98% and learning outcomes achieving 100%. Students with higher motivation demonstrated better academic results as they were actively engaged in the learning process and could relate the material to their everyday experiences. The findings suggest that integrating the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach with the Role Playing model effectively enhances student motivation and learning outcomes in Biology, particularly in the Plantae topic

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the denotative and connotative meanings found in the lyrics of the song “Atemlos durch die Nacht” by Helene Fischer. A song is an effective medium for conveying messages and emotions through a combination of melody and lyrics. The lyrics of “Atemlos durch die Nacht” were chosen because of their deep emotional expression and the song’s historical significance as one of Germany’s most successful songs. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method focusing on semantic analysis to identify the literal (denotative) and implied (connotative) meanings in each line of the song’s lyrics. Data were collected through document analysis, and each lyric was interpreted according to its contextual meaning. The findings show that each lyric of the song contains both denotative and connotative meanings that express feelings of freedom, love, and enthusiasm. The denotative meanings present the literal interpretations of the words, while the connotative meanings reveal emotional and symbolic associations related to human experiences of joy, affection, and liberation. In conclusion, the study highlights that linguistic elements in song lyrics can serve as powerful tools for expressing human emotions and cultural values through layers of meaning

    Get PDF
This study measured the blended learning effect within the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) condition under a quantitative meta-analytic system. Having begun with a starting dataset of fifty experimental publications published between 2012 and 2023, twenty-eight were selected, and produced thirty-three effect sizes on diversified education levels and linguistic proficiency. Using a random-effects methodology, the cumulative effect size was 1.938 (p < 0.001), highly significant and indicating a very strong positive effect of blended learning on English proficiency. Subgroup analyses identified the strongest results for listening (ES = 5.014), speaking (ES = 2.033), grammar (ES = 2.338), and writing (ES = 1.849), while vocabulary (ES = 1.079) and reading (ES = 1.505) registered significant but comparatively smaller achievement  These findings show the strength of blended learning in improving EFL skills, especially oral and interactive skills. This study is significant in terms of integrating scattered empirical findings using a systematic meta-analytic procedure and thus bolstering the theoretical base of blended learning research. In practice, the findings provide actionable recommendations for teachers and curriculum development when designing effective, technology-rich pedagogies. It confirms the research that blended learning is a viable and satisfactory pedagogic approach toward advancing language teaching employing EFL scenarios. &nbsp

This study was motivated by the low student engagement in Geography learning at SMA Negeri 13 Buru Selatan, Kecamatan Kepala Madan. The aim was to determine the extent to which learning interest influences students’ academic achievement. The research employed a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method. The sample consisted of 30 students from grades X and XI, selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included questionnaires on learning interest and learning outcomes, analyzed using simple regression, Pearson correlation, t-test, and ANOVA. Findings revealed that learning interest was categorized as moderate to high with an average score of 47.7 out of 55. Students’ learning outcomes were also considered good with an average score of 39.37 out of 45. Regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 23.722 + 0.338X with a significance value of 0.046 (<0.05), indicating a significant influence of learning interest on achievement. These results highlight the importance of interactive and contextual teaching strategies that enhance participation, attention, and curiosity. The implication is that teachers should implement engaging methods, schools need to provide supportive learning environments, and students are encouraged to strengthen their intrinsic motivation to achieve optimal outcome

Default in Online Lending: A Legal Review of Standard Clauses and Consumer Protection Against Breach of Contract Claims

    Get PDF
Introduction: This article examines the legal challenges surrounding Default (failure to repay) in online lending agreements dominated by standard clauses. The rapid growth of digital financial services has enabled wider access to credit; however, this convenience is not matched by equitable legal protection for debtors. In practice, delayed repayments are immediately treated as default, without considering whether the agreement itself was substantively fair. Purposes of the Research: The purpose of this study is to analyze the legal standing of debtors who commit galbay in contracts made using standard clauses that tend to favor creditors. This study also aims to evaluate whether such defaults can be directly categorized as breach of contract under Indonesian law, and to explore possible legal reform to enhance consumer protection. Methods of the Research: This research applies normative juridical methods, with a statutory and conceptual approach. The study refers to provisions in the Indonesian Civil Code, Consumer Protection Law, constitute violations of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law, and Financial Services Authority regulations, while also applying theories such as contractual justice, good faith doctrine, and equilibrium contract theory. Data are obtained from legislation, legal doctrine, literature review, and court rulings. Results Main Findings of the Research: The findings show that the debtor’s legal position in online lending is structurally disadvantaged due to unequal bargaining power and the use of exploitative standard clauses. This study argues that Default cannot be directly equated with breach of contract because essential elements of valid default - such as genuine consent and proper notification - are often absent. The novelty of this research lies in its critical framing of online lending default as a structural, rather than individual, failure, thereby requiring a justice-oriented interpretation to prevent systemic exploitation

Reconstructing Prosecutorial Epistemology for Substantive Justice in Contract Law: A Comparative Philosophical and International Legal Analysis of Indonesia and Kazakhstan

    Get PDF
Introduction: Contemporary contract law in Indonesia and Kazakhstan faces persistent tension between private autonomy and substantive justice. Both jurisdictions enshrine the principle of good faith, yet lack clear doctrinal guidance for its application, resulting in inconsistencies in interpretation and enforcement within their respective civil law systems. Purposes of the Research: This study aims to examine how prosecutors within these jurisdictions construct legal knowledge and exercise discretion when intervening in contract-related disputes, and to evaluate whether such prosecutorial practices advance or hinder the realization of substantive justice in contractual enforcement. Methods of the Research: This research employs a normative–juridical method complemented by comparative and philosophical approaches. It analyses statutory provisions, judicial reasoning, and international soft-law instruments—particularly the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts—to explore how discretion and evidentiary reasoning shape enforcement. Results Main Findings of the Research: The findings reveal that Indonesian prosecutors, inheriting a Roman-Dutch legacy, invoke good faith inconsistently due to evidentiary ambiguity and weak pre-contractual standards, while Kazakh prosecutors emphasize formal legality that sidelines moral reasoning. This research contributes to comparative legal philosophy by proposing three reconstructive pillars for prosecutorial reasoning—doctrinal clarity, evidentiary proportionality, and principled discretion—to align substantive justice with fairness-oriented norms
