Measuring the urgency of tax administration reform in Indonesia
This research aims to explore the latest developments in taxation and describe why Indonesia must implement tax reform. The primary focus is on the state revenue generated by the tax sector over the last ten years, tax ratios, and the extent of the state's losses due to tax abuse in Southeast Asia. The research uses a constructive philosophy and paradigm with a qualitative approach. It employs explanatory research, with library research as a data collection technique. The findings indicate that significant measures are required to reform Indonesia's tax administration to increase state revenues from taxes, raise the tax ratio, and reduce the amount of state losses due to tax abuse. The complex tax administration system leads to tax avoidance and abuse, reducing the state's revenue and causing the tax ratio to be low. The government needs to organize the workings of the tax system using the principles of equality, simplicity, and justice. The research results are addressed to the government as regulators and policymakers, as well as to taxpayers and the public as policy implementers. Taxpayers and the public can comply with their tax obligations without hesitation because the tax system is strong, credible, and accountable

Mother tongue and its implication on second language learning: English phones production
The study aimed to investigate the implication of mother tongue on second language learning, particularly in phones production. Data of this research were in the form of utterance that produced by 9 English learners whose Balinese, Indonesian, or Japanese mother tongue. The data were collected through two kinds of method, which were interview method and observation method. In analyzing the data, the researcher used intralingual matching method. Based on the result, second language will be easier to learn if the language has the same features and systems as other language that has been mastered. Second language learners will encounter difficulty in producing certain phones of the second language if the phones do not exist in their mother tongue
The development of maintenance and care system for public railway facility infrastructure integrated with building information modeling (BIM) software based on work breakdown structure (WBS)
Post-construction maintenance is crucial to maintain a building’s reliability. In some cases, damages often occur due to negligence in the post-construction maintenance process. This research discusses the maintenance system of railway station buildings where currently the railway station facility is often cannot be used properly due to the negligence in the maintenance process. Maintenance that is not carried out properly will be very detrimental to many parties. The purpose of this research is to improve the maintenance performance of the railway station building from the structural scope, station supporting facilities scope, and plumbing scope. The case study of this research is Manggarai Station building which is one of the largest railway station buildings in Indonesia. The methods used in this research are literature review, case study, and survey conducted using questionnaire from several experts such as people who are in charge of the maintenance activities in PT Kereta Api (Persero), PT LRT Jakarta, and some from the contractors who built the railway system infrastructure and also take charge of the post-construction maintenance and care. The results of this research are in the form of WBS-based BIM modeling and guidelines used to improve performance in maintaining the reliability of station buildings
The effect of temperature on compressive strength of concrete with the addition of kaolin as a substitute some fine aggregate
This research aims to; (1) Determine the feasibility of using kaolin from Pawangi Village, Capkala District, Bengkayang Regency, West Kalimantan Province when used as a substitute for some fine aggregate (sand). (2) To find out the description of compressive strength after burning and the model of the relationship between temperature and compressive strength of concrete with mixture, kaolin is used as a substitute for some fine aggregate (sand). (3) Determine the most optimal composition of kaolin mixture against the compressive strength of normal concrete and also due to the influence of temperature. The type of research used in this study is a qualitative experiment on the structure of concrete materials using kaolin as a substitute for fine aggregate. The concrete that is planned is of K-250 quality, in line with the quality standards of concrete used in residential structures (1 to 2 floors). The kaolin mixture used is a percentage of 0%, 25%, and 50% of the weight of sand according to the job mix formula for the quality of K-250 concrete. After 28 days the resulting concrete sample is fired in an oven (kiln)
Development of operational standards procedures for maintenance and maintenance of public railway infrastructure infrastructure and electrical mechanical and architectural components in Wbs-based station buildings to improve maintenance and maintenance performance
A railway station is a place of departure and stoppage for trains. Poor, inappropriate maintenance and upkeep of infrastructure without strict supervision can result in physical damage to the infrastructure itself, thus losing its initial value and reducing the service life of the infrastructure. If the maintenance and upkeep of infrastructure in the transportation sector is not done properly, it can cause delays or, in the worst case, accidents. To ensure a high level of reliability and availability, the implementation of an effective maintenance program is very important. This is then clarified if poor maintenance and upkeep practices, such as in the transportation sector, can also affect the reliability of the transportation system and even cause life-threatening accidents. Damage or accidents that occur can also lower the company's image and customer or consumer trust. This research aims to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for maintenance and upkeep work on station buildings, architectural components, and mechanical electrical. The method used is based on a Literature Study, survey, and case study. The result of this research is the development of SOP maintenance and upkeep work on architectural components and mechanical electrical to improve maintenance performance
Room capacity improvement for classrooms at Bali State Polytechnic
Bali State Polytechnic is one of the vocational universities in Indonesia. Located in South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, the Bali State Polytechnic is an attraction for high school/vocational school graduates from within and outside the region to receive education here. The increase in interest from prospective students is not in line with the addition of classroom facilities. The Bali State Polytechnic requires the addition of classrooms above 50 rooms, but to build a new building, the area used is no longer there. Therefore, one of the steps to add a classroom is to add a building floor to the exterior building. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct a study in terms of structural strength and financing for the addition of the floor. The structural study used is to conduct a hammer test and check the size of the foundation. The results of this study, by conducting a study on the strength of the structure, can be recommended to add floors, but with the reinforcement of the column foundation and the addition of columns on the 2nd floor. With the addition of the floor, the required cost is IDR 8,871,123,281 excluding tax

Inflation has a negative and significant effect on banking financial stability measured by z-score. Inflation has a negative and statistically insignificant effect on banking financial stability as measured by NPL
The interplay of price, word-of-mouth, and tourist satisfaction in marine tourism
Marine tourism contributes socioeconomically to its stakeholders. Appropriate management of perceived price, word-of-mouth (WOM), and tourist satisfaction overall the destination image must be ensured, ultimately influencing tourists’ behaviour. This research looks at the impact of perceived price, word-of-mouth (WOM), and tourist satisfaction on the destination image of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, and their subsequent effects on tourist behaviour in the marine destination. Using a quantitative approach and focusing on young, educated, and budget-conscious travelers, data was collected from 426 respondents through structured surveys. The connections among the constructs were evaluated using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result reveals that perceived price and word of Mouth (WOM) tourist satisfaction significantly influence Cox's Bazar's destination image and mediates their effect on tourist behaviour. It provides useful insights for all stakeholders, especially tourism marketers by pointing to tourist satisfaction to promote goodwill to maintain the sustainability and competitiveness of maritime tourist destinations
Narratives of simplicity and danger: Morocco as an exotic playground in contemporary travelogues
This essay examines how Tahir Shah’s stories and impression of the Oriental environment he surrounds himself with help to romanticize Morocco. It centers on his depiction of the shantytown, the infamous Dar Calipha, and the attraction of Moroccan superstition that permeated his travelogues, namely The Caliph’s House and In Arabian Nights. Shah compares Morocco’s dangerous environment with the comfort and security in the Western world. By highlighting and romanticizing Morocco’s lack of development, Shah pursues danger, mystery, and simplicity. These offer an antidote to the perceived stagnation and artificiality of Western modernity. This paper analyzes the ubiquitous Western tendency to disconnect from modernity to find authenticity. Shah’s works reflect a common Western fascination with Morocco because it offers a retreat or a haven from the complexities of modern life and an opportunity to confront danger and unpredictability which is often perceived, by many travel writers that will be mentioned in this paper (including Alice Morrison, Jeffrey Tayler, and Paul Bowles), as thrilling and exciting.
