Collaborative network learning (CNL) on students’ online learning
Get PDFThis study aimed at enhancing students’ online learning through CNL method in English for Food and Beverage Operation Subject Course. The participants of the study were 30 students at the second semester of Hospitality Study Program in State Polytechnic of Bali. Qualitative methods were used in data analysis; a sample of students’ learning achievement was analyzed in light of the CNL assessment criteria. A questionnaire was administered to highlight progress in students’ online learning in CNL method. CNL method proved to be effective in enhancing students’ online learning in English for Food and Beverage Operation Subject Course, specifically in the online dialogue between co-learner, learner, and the teacher. Interviews with higher vocational education teachers of English emphasized students need for innovative online learning method such as CNL to help them develop as efficient learning. The online class encouraged students to work together as one team and to express their ideas fluently to excel in their learning assignments. Having an authentic reason for doing online learning motivated them to do research and to refine their learning assignments to be good enough to share with others
Age-appropriate, pragmatic content in personal correspondence
Get PDFThis article examines vulgarism and dialectisms, which are considered to be elements of vulgarity in personal correspondence. In the linguistic examination conducted in anonymous cases, the form, frequency, and pragmatic content of the use of non-literary elements also play a leading role in determining the age of a person. The article examines the pragmatic direction, communicative purpose, frequency of use of non-literary elements in the correspondence of individuals aged 17-27 on average, and concludes. A survey was also conducted among school-age students to study the influence of the family environment on the use of non-literal lexical elements in a child’s speech. The nature of the use of non-verbal elements in personal correspondence depends on neurological, psychological, and sociological factors. Unethical behavior can also be related to a person's emotional state. Some personal correspondence uses obscene lexical elements, some positive and some negative. Speech situation and communicative purpose also played an important role in the use of non-literary lexical items
Advances in applications of non-destructive testing (NDT): a review
Get PDFManufacturing defects and discontinuities in a product are anomalies which can lead to severe damages which may sometimes involve loss of life. These defects must be examined and corrected before the product goes into service. There are two methods of testing a product for defects and discontinuities viz. Destructive Testing and Non-Destructive Testing. Destructive Testing entails subjecting the product to conditions that leads to failure of the product whereas Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) is the process of examining the products for defects in a way in which it retains its usefulness for future service. This paper discusses various methods involved in NDT such as Visual Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Penetrant Testing, Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, Acoustic Emission and Eddy Current Testing with a major focus on advances in the applications of NDT
Examining recruitment strategies and millennial employee selection

Besides, the purpose of this study is to invite the readers of this study to see what obstacles occur in the strategy of recruitment and selection of Millennial employees. This research was conducted at PT. BPR Lestari Bali. Design This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis methods. The sample used in this study is based on a purposive sampling technique, namely the determination of samples based on the suitability of certain characteristics and criteria. Data collection techniques used are through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are to look for concrete forms of recruitment and selection strategies for millennial employees. The actual form of recruitment strategy consists of recruitment preparation, dissemination of job vacancies online, acceptance of applications, and through the Internship program. The results of research on the process of implementing the recruitment and selection strategy at PT. BPR Lestari Bali has been implemented well by the company. Several theories have been applied so that there are not many obstacles or obstacles in the implementation of millennial recruitment and selection strategies

It promotes the issue of the influences of professional commitment and locus control to the ethical sensitivity of the auditors who dedicate to the inspectorate sector of the regencies or city. It is assumed that supervision and inspection is the task of the inspectorate in the Regencies or City. The results of supervision and inspection can increase public financial accountability and improve good governance. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of professional commitment and locus of control on the ethical sensitivity of auditors who work in the Inspectorate sectors in three regencies in Flores island. The population and sample in this study were 46 auditors who work in the Inspectorate in Flores island. The sample used is a saturated census in which the entire population is sampled. Multiple linear regression analysis was used in this study. The results of the study prove that professional commitment and locus of control have a significant effect on the ethical sensitivity of auditors in Flores
Corporate governance moderate the effect of CSR on financial performance
Get PDFThe purpose of this study was to obtain empirical evidence regarding the effect of CSR (CSR) on the financial performance of companies with corporate governance as a moderating variable (study on the consumer goods industry on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2019). The research sample was determined using a non-probability sampling method with a purposive sampling technique. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from the annual report of consumer goods industry companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2017 - 2019. The data analysis technique uses moderated regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that CSR has a positive and significant effect on financial performance and the board size of directors, independent directors and gender diversity of the board of directors strengthens the influence of CSR on financial performance
The effect of the application of the contextual learning model on the ability of short story writing for class VII SMP
Get PDFThis study aimed to determine the effect of applying a contextual learning model on short story writing skills for seventh-grade students of SMP Negeri 35 Makassar. This type of this study was experimental research with quantitative analysis techniques that were numbered from the quick writing ability test results. The result of the data analysis showed that the average score of the control class was 51.34, and the experimental class was 79.24. T-test showed that the value of the t-count was more significant than the t-table. T-count was 2,790, and the t-table was 2,021. It can be concluded that H1 is accepted. So, applying the contextual learning model can significantly affect students' abilities in writing a short story
Understanding the impact of zakat and waqf as economic development of the community in rural areas
Get PDFThis study discusses the understanding of the impact of Zakat and Waqf spending as part of the government's efforts with the community to develop the economy of the poor in rural areas. We use secondary data in answering the research questions from some zakat and people's economy publications from international publications, including journal articles, books, proceedings, and other data on internet sites that discuss the importance of zakat in the Islamic economy. After we found the data, we analyzed it using a phenomenological approach, a way to explore as much data as possible to solve problems with valid and reliable data findings. We choose the publication of data published ten years ago to be genuinely accurate and updated. Based on the findings and discussion data, we can summarize that zakat and the economy are two things that influence each other. As a result, the Islamic economy cannot be separated from Zakat and Waqf, which are potential instruments in improving the economy. With the existing economic problems, zakat and waqf can be an effective solution to overcome financial issues faced by the ummah
The relevance of speaking skills with improving digital literacy skills
Get PDFThe author believes that learning English, especially speaking skills, is closely related to the mastery of digital literacy skills among students at schools and universities. To prove the assumptions and beliefs of the authors of this study, take a look at some of the data that has been published in various journals, books, and proceedings, as well as other internet data sources. Furthermore, to make it easier for us to answer the questions in this review, we have carried out a series of data analyses and studies by incorporating a coding system and in-depth evaluation and interpretation so that we can derive findings in response to these questions. Study the questions on the basis that, they are valid and reliable. For example, we visited Taylor and Francis Elsevier publications, Google book publications, academic databases, and domestic publication journals. After a series of criticisms of the data and discussion of the findings, we can finally say that there is strong evidence that there is a relevance between successful mastery of speaking skills and digital literacy skills among students. So with these results, we hope that these findings can be input in studies of the success of learning English
