Decoding investment behavior: The impact of financial literacy, risk tolerance, and financial satisfaction on generation z’s investment decisions
The investment decision is a decision to allocate a certain amount of funds in a particular type of investment to generate profits in the future. Accessing technology-based financial services, known as fintech, makes the process of investing in financial securities feasible. This study will analyze the investment behavior of Generation Z investors by examining the factors that influence investment decisions based on the theory of financial planning behavior and prospect theory. This research is conducted in Denpasar with a participant sample of 260 Generation Z investors, which was then analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The findings show that Financial Satisfaction, Risk Tolerance, Financial Literacy, and Investment Intention have a direct positive effect on Investment Decisions. Financial Satisfaction and Financial Literacy have a positive effect on Investment Intention; however, Risk Tolerance has a significant negative effect on Investment Intention. This study also found that Investment Intention acts as a mediator between Financial Satisfaction and Financial Literacy on Investment Decision, not between Risk Tolerance and Investment Decision. The Indonesia Stock Exchange Investment Gallery (IDX) and financial institutions ought to understand Generation Z's investing behavior. By understanding this behavior, they can help issuers identify opportunities to attract young investors
LPD digitalization in the mobile banking era: How customer perception affects M-Pise adoption?
For microfinance organizations like LPD (Lembaga Perkreditan Desa), mobile banking improves both transaction efficiency and financial inclusion. This technology has been implemented in LPD Desa Adat Kesiman through M-Pise, although the rate of acceptance is still low. The purpose of this research is to examine the elements that impact the interest in using M-Pise at LPD Desa Adat Kesiman using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The link between trust, simplicity of use, and perceived usefulness is moderated by attitude toward utilizing. Through a survey, 200 clients who were not yet M-Pise users provided data that was evaluated using SEM-PLS. Attitude toward using mediates the connection between attitude toward using and desire to use, with intention to use serving as a partial mediator and all three components having positive and substantial impacts on these outcomes. Finally, consumers' positive opinions of M-Pise are increased by the perceived benefits, convenience of use, and trust, increasing their propensity to embrace the service. To encourage mobile banking within its community, LPD should prioritize improving digital literacy, enhancing service features, and bolstering application security, according to the practical implications
Representation of Bali Women in Geguritan Basur and the Basur Novel
This study aims to determine the representation of Balinese women in Geguritan Basur and Basur novel. This research employs a qualitative design to gain a deep understanding of social phenomena and human behavior through non-numerical data collection. Data were collected through a literature study, with reading, note-taking, and interview techniques. Data analysis was conducted by comprehensively describing and analyzing the data, providing an adequate understanding and explanation. The results of this study show that the representation of Balinese women in Geguritan Basur and the novel Basur creates a complex and ambivalent image. In both works, Balinese women are portrayed as not only bound to patriarchal norms but also as individuals who struggle, are intelligent, and have agency capable of handling social pressures. The findings of this study are as follows. First, in Geguritan Basur and the novel Basur, Balinese women are represented in various social roles. This representation reflects a kind of dualism regarding the position and role of Balinese women. On the one hand, Balinese women are presented as the guardians of tradition and morality. On the other hand, they are also placed in a subordinate position or as the most disadvantaged party.
Metaphors in lexicon: Animal attributes as idioms in Japanese
This study explores the types of animal lexicon used as idioms to express the metaphorical meanings. The Japanese language contains a rich array of metaphors that reflect the speaker’s cultural perspectives and values. The data were collected from Japanese news articles from asahi.com and analyzed using the conceptual metaphor theory proposed by Lakoff and Johnson, with the addition of Knowles and Moon. Based on the results, there are 9 types of animals: neko ‘cat’, inu ‘dog’, mushi ‘insect’, uma ‘horse’, zako ‘small fish’, suzume ‘sparrow’, ushi ‘cow’, sakana ‘fish’, and tori ‘bird’. These types of idioms are commonly used to convey characteristics, states, or situations. The usage of animal lexicon to convey metaphorical meanings may appear as compounds or phrases. The metaphorical meanings are ontological, structural, conventional, spatial, and creative
Job stress and work-life balance on turnover intention: The mediating role of job satisfaction
This study aims to examine the effect of Job Stress and work-life balance on turnover intention, with job satisfaction as a mediating variable among healthcare employees at RSU Grha Bhakti Medika in Bali. Using a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from 92 nurses and midwives through a structured questionnaire. The results reveal that Job Stress has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, while work-life balance and job satisfaction have negative and significant effects on turnover intention. Additionally, Job Stress negatively affects job satisfaction, whereas a good work-life balance positively influences job satisfaction. The mediation analysis confirms that job satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between job stress and work-life balance, as well as between work-life balance and turnover intention. These findings highlight the importance of reducing Job Stress and promoting work-life balance to enhance job satisfaction and lower turnover intention among hospital employees. The study offers practical implications for hospital management in developing HR policies that support employee well-being and retention, especially in the context of strengthening Indonesia’s health tourism sector
Neuropedagogy in the development of skills initials of reading and writing
The research project, called "Neuropedagogy in the Development of Initial Literacy Skills," had a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative). The objective was to determine the potential of neuropedagogy as a methodological tool for improving the development of initial literacy skills in high school children at the Matilde Hidalgo de Procel Educational Unit in the city of Santo Domingo, province of Tsáchilas. The procedural methods used were bibliographic, inductive, deductive, and descriptive. A correlational level of research was also determined, and the methodological design was quasi-experimental. The population consisted of high school teachers and students from the Educational Unit. The sample the study consisted of two groups of 10 high school students, each comprising the control and experimental groups. The information collected was based on the implementation of a pre- and post-test based on strategies related to neuropedagogy oriented to the development of initial reading and writing skills. Finally, the hypotheses posed were Ha = Strategies based on neuropedagogy develop initial reading and writing skills in high school students and Ho = Strategies based on neuropedagogy do not develop initial reading and writing skills in high school students
ESG and firm value: The moderating role of environmental performance and profitability in Indonesia’s mining sector
This study examines the relationship between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and firm value in Indonesia’s mining sector, with a focus on the moderating roles of environmental performance and profitability. ESG performance is proxied by the Sustainable Report Disclosure Index (SRDI), firm value is measured using Tobin’s Q, environmental performance is measured using the PROPER rating, and profitability is represented by Return on Assets (ROA). The research sample comprises 10 mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that consistently publish sustainability reports and participate in the government’s PROPER environmental compliance rating program, observed over 4 years (2020–2023), resulting in 40 firm-year observations. The study employs panel data regression with a random effects model, based on the results of the Chow, Hausman, and Lagrange Multiplier tests. The findings reveal that ESG performance has a negative and statistically significant effect on firm value. Furthermore, profitability significantly moderates the relationship between ESG and firm value, while environmental performance does not show a moderating effect. These results suggest that investors may view ESG initiatives as costly when not supported by strong financial performance
A cohesion study of President Prabowo Subianto’s speech at the inauguration of the president and vice president of Indonesia 2024-2029 in the MPR building
This study aims to describe the cohesion aspect in President Prabowo Subianto’s speech during his inauguration at the MPR RI building. This study uses discourse analysis to analyze Prabowo Subianto's speech. The discourse analysis in this study focuses on lexical and grammatical cohesion analysis. The method used in data collection is the listening method. Data are analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. In this speech, two types of cohesion are found, namely lexical cohesion and grammatical cohesion. Lexical cohesion consists of repetition, antonyms, and synonyms, as well as common words (saudara-saudara “brothers and sisters”). Meanwhile, grammatical cohesion consists of references, substitutions, ellipses, and conjunctions. The use of these cohesion markers provides clear meaning to the content of the speech. In addition, these cohesion markers can make it easier for listeners to listen and follow the flow of thought of the speaker, namely, President Prabowo Subianto. In-depth analysis of other discourse markers, such as coherence, is also very necessary to support this study
Ergonomics risk factors analysis of building construction work in SARBAGITA Region Bali Indonesia
The main objective of this research is to analyze Ergonomics Risk Factors and MSDs Rate in building construction work in the SARBAGITA area of Bali, Indonesia. SARBAGITA, an acronym for Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, and Tabanan, is the largest metropolitan area in the Nusa Tenggara Islands and the second largest in the Eastern Indonesia Region after the metropolitan city of Mamminasata in South Sulawesi. Therefore, various infrastructure facilities have been developed, including office buildings, hotels, and other public facilities. The development of infrastructure in the SARBAGITA can be seen through the number of active construction companies. In 2020, the number of active construction companies was 987, decreased slightly during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 to 883, and rose again to 997 in 2022. If each company has at least one construction project, then the number of active projects in 2022 was 997. Construction work is very complex, especially in building construction. Involving a large number of workers with varied backgrounds, most of the work is carried out outdoors, using a variety of heavy-duty equipment, and involving hazardous materials. Construction work has a high risk of accidents and work-related diseases from aspects of biology, physics, chemistry, ergonomics, and even psychology.
