    Get PDF
Teaching materials about literature in the 2013 Curriculum should be text-based, but after careful discussion of the material in the curriculum and Sasak language textbooks in primary and secondary education, the emphasis is more on the value of beauty and character of story characters. In addition, teaching materials about the text of the Sasak literary genre are presented in Indonesian, not in Sasak; the amount of literature both in the form of fiction and poetry and others is still very limited. The limited material about literary genre texts has the consequence that learning about literary texts does not receive adequate attention. Based on these problems, this paper aims to discuss the text of the genre of folk literature in the Sasak language in terms of text structure, linguistic tools, and community values contained in it. Learning based on literary genre texts will support language skills and can help children understand the value and beauty of Sasak literature. The results of the study of literary genre texts are expected to help teachers prepare teaching materials for local content in the Sasak language

    Get PDF
This study aimed to determine the effect of various types of tea solutions on the characteristics of Wong Tea. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) of 4 treatments with various types of tea solutions with 4 replications. The results showed that there were significant differences in the organoleptic quality including the taste, aroma, and color of Wong tea. The results of the research on pH, total acid, alcohol content, and total soluble solid showed no significant difference. The pH of Wong tea ranged from pH 3.28 - pH 3.35, total soluble solid ranged from 13.90°Brix - 13.95°Brix, total acidity of Wong tea ranged from 1.58% - 1.72%. The alcohol content of Wong tea ranges from 0.33% - 0.41%. The results of this study also showed that there was a significant difference in antioxidant activity and phenol levels of Wong tea, i.e., the antioxidant capacity of Wong tea ranged from 6.50% - 7.30%.  The components that act as antioxidants in Wong tea ingredients come from phenolic compounds. Phenol levels in Wong tea ranged from 125.80 mg% - 141.10 mg%

Cowpea has a high protein value but contains anti-nutritional substances so that the germination process is required. Cowpea sprouts can be processed into flour which is then used as raw material for various processed food products such as instant porridge. This study aimed to examine the chemical and physical characteristics of cowpea sprouted flour due to temperature treatment and drying time. This study used a completely randomized design with a factorial pattern with two treatment factors, namely temperature consisting of 3 levels (50oC, 60oC and 70°C) and drying time factor consisting of 12, 14 and 16 hours. The data obtained were analyzed using variance, if it had a significant effect (P<0.05) followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. The results showed that the temperature treatment of 70oC and drying time of 16 hours was the best treatment which produced cowpea sprouts flour with a water content of 2.51%, ash content of 4.93%, protein content of 24.52%, fat content of 2.34%, content of carbohydrates 65.71%, crude fiber content 9.36%, wettability 178.76 seconds, kamba density 0.43 g/ml, water absorption index 1.73 mlH2O/g, solubility index 40.60% and color (L) 80.47

The analysis of the unevenness of the loop pile fabrics by height

    Get PDF
In this article, an analysis of the unevenness of the loop pile fabrics, which are included in the pile tissue gap, was carried out. Fabric samples woven on the ITEMA-9500 loom were used. The organoleptic method was used as a method for determining the length of the rings, and the length of the rings was determined in laboratory conditions. Based on the analysis of the results of the experiment, it was found that the lengths of the hairs of the towel samples differed from each other, and the hair length increased from 9.5 to 10 mm on both sides of the towel samples. In addition, according to the analysis of the results, it was observed that the height of the bristles was different from the length of the loops on the front and back of the fabric, which ranged from 8 mm to 11.5 mm, which caused an unevenness of the height of the loops by 1.75 mm

A design of a cocoa bean sorting machine

    Get PDF
Cocoa plantations have employed thousands of farmer families throughout Indonesia, as well as have been the third largest export among the plantation sub-sector after rubber and oil palm. Therefore, the potential for the development of the cocoa industry as one of the drivers of growth and income distribution is very open. Cocoa bean production in Indonesia continues to increase, but the quality produced is still diverse such as less fermented, not dry enough, uniform bean size, high skin content, high acidity, and very diverse flavors. In this research, efforts to overcome these problems are accomplished by designing a cocoa bean sorting machine that can separate clean cocoa beans and root debris from cocoa beans so as it is expected to make it easier for cocoa farmers, workers, entrepreneurs and industries to more easily get a cocoa bean sorting machine so that the quality of cocoa beans improves and their selling price increases. Seeing these challenges, the authors took the initiative to create a new design a cocoa bean sorting machine with a simpler and more precise design

    Get PDF
The author’s goal to successfully impart a thought through fiction depends largely on the synergetic relationship between narrative techniques and other literary elements. This paper explores the synergic alliance between the authors’ choice of methods or literary devices to reveal the audience how characters and themes affecting them cannot be disconnected.  The study hinges on a qualitative document analysis involving Ngugi’s novel A Grain of Wheat. Discussion was guided by three study questions concerning the place that narrative techniques hold among the fictional generic elements; the use of dramatic irony in A Grain of Wheat; and what can be learnt from that situation. Analysis revealed that dramatic irony is used in that novel to show the reader that people could be cautious to decide on heroes and traitors before the story conflict resolution. It was also confirmed that the interface between elements of literature cannot be doubted
