This paper focuses on researching issues related to the management and development of teacher education programs at the university level. In the context of an ever-changing and complex society, the development of university teacher education programs becomes of utmost importance. These programs not only ensure a solid foundation of subject matter expertise but also aim to foster pedagogical skills, refine teaching abilities, and concurrently address the practical demands of the education sector. However, during the process of managing and advancing university teacher education programs, various issues and challenges have emerged. These encompass but are not limited to, updating teaching content in alignment with emerging trends, ensuring the applicability and practicality of knowledge, developing modern teaching methodologies, and integrating information technology into the learning process. Furthermore, establishing a dynamic learning environment and actively encouraging student participation are also noteworthy challenges. Additionally, ensuring that education programs meet the highest standards of quality and international benchmarks is a critical consideration. Hence, the research into issues related to the management and development of university teacher education programs becomes imperative. This endeavour seeks to examine deficiencies and gaps in the management process, thereby proposing specific and progressive solutions

The conversation is often used as a medium to transfer the ideology of the speakers. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to: describe the representation of the role of Sasak men or women in vocabulary choices, in carrying out interactional control, in syntactic structures, and the use of metaphors in Sasak conversation. The theory used is the critical discourse theory model of Norman Fairclough and is complemented by Teun A. Van Dijk's theory. The collection was carried out using the listening and speaking method (interviews) as well as basic techniques and their derivatives, observation methods, and documentation methods. Sources of data were obtained from young Sasak youths and women who were communicating. The collected data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive method which aims to make a systematic description, categorization, and patterning. Data is presented formally and informally. In the end, this research resulted in the reality of the motives or ideology of the communicator's attitude that sided with the role of Sasak men or women in a gender perspective, which often led to physical-psychological intersections, such as; sexual harassment, domestic violence, and even in the culture of divorce and marriage

Then they were divided into two equal experimental and control groups. This study used a descriptive quantitative method whereas pre-test and post-test were administrated to collect data. The experimental group was taught speaking using two communicative games “guess who” and “gossip”, whereas the control group used conventional classes. Analyzing the data through the independent sample revealed the effectiveness of games application, the experimental group outperformed the control group in the four speaking components. Furthermore, students had a positive attitude toward utilization of communicative games

L2 learners’ pronunciation of English phonetic sounds: An acoustic analysis with software Praat

    Get PDF
Pronouncing English sounds correctly is not an easy task for second language (L2) learners because of the influence of their mother tongue. Empirical studies, based on first language (L1) interference, have investigated L2 learners’ pronunciation problems. However, these studies rarely focused on students’ development in pronunciation, and their results lack validity and reliability because of their mere employment of L2 English teachers as pronunciation assessors. The present study, using the acoustic software Praat as the instrument and taking a native speaker as the comparison, investigated Chinese L2 English learners’ problems and improvement in pronouncing the English sounds that do not have exact counterparts in Chinese. Data analysis revealed that the participants manifested different degrees of pronunciation accuracy with the target English sounds; their mispronunciations of consonants were mainly due to lacking voicing, wrong manners, and wrong places of articulation, while their mispronunciations of vowels were attributed to their improper tongue position, mouth opening, and diphthongization; and that higher-proficiency students tended to have greater pronunciation accuracy. The findings were discussed with reference to the literature, and pedagogical implications were provided at the end

    Get PDF
The number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia is still lagging behind several other countries. This shows a lack of entrepreneurship intention among youth. This research was conducted based on the gap in the results of previous research and differences in the focus of discussion on several factors that affect the entrepreneurial intention of university students. This study analyzes and determines the effect of motivation, family environment, entrepreneurship education, and income expectations on student entrepreneurship intention. This study's population was all university students in Bali, with a research sample of 250 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that motivation, family environment, entrepreneurship education, and income expectations positively and significantly influenced student entrepreneurship intention. To increase motivation, students must believe that entrepreneurship can deliver the desired standard of living. To improve the family environment, students must feel their parents will always support and help them in entrepreneurship. To increase income expectations, students must be sure that by becoming an entrepreneur, they will earn greater and even unlimited income than being an employee. Aspects that need to be considered to improve entrepreneurship education are that students must take entrepreneurship courses, seminars, and entrepreneurship education well

While coding, we may see patterns and relationships between different themes. Next, we coded the data by starting to analyze it more deeply. This may involve looking for patterns and relationships between themes, comparing and contrasting responses, and identifying differences or outliers. Finally, we interpret the data to draw conclusions and insights. This may involve searching for underlying meanings or implications and considering how our findings relate to existing literature or theory. The article suggests that improving the understanding and skills of inclusive and responsive Da'wah can contribute to building a peaceful and tolerant society.&nbsp
