    No full text
Purpose: This research has examined the impact of Intellectual Capital (IC) on performance of the firms in Pakistan while considering political uncertainty as moderating variable. Value Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) model by Pulic (1998) has been used to calculate IC and its components and ROA is used to measure firm’s performance. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research used secondary data of firms, related to manufacturing sectors, listed in Karachi Stock Exchange-KSE 100 Pakistan for a ten-year period of 2010-2019. Regression Model has been employed to investigate the hypothetical relationship between IC and firm performance. Findings: Results of this paper revealed that CEE and CCE have a significant positive relationship with the financial performance of firms in Pakistan whereas SCE has negative effect on the financial performance of the firms. Furthermore, the findings suggest political instability as a significant moderating variable on the relationship among intellectual capital, its components and firms’ performance. Implications/Originality/Value: The findings suggest that the IC of Pakistani firms is driven by physical and customer capital which implies the need for efficient utilization of physical and relational resources primarily. This research is the first attempt in investigating the relative importance of intellectual capital success of any firm under political uncertainty

    No full text
Purpose: Regardless matter whether it is a commercial or public enterprise, every business would have a capital budgeting procedure in residence. The supply of Public goods is the major force on Public sector institutions, and one means to do this is complete the execution of huge progress schemes. With the current state of affairs in Pakistan, major cost and time overruns have occurred on Public sector setup ventures. One of the most likely reasons of cost overruns is a lack of or insufficient cost and benefit ventures, as well as general venture management since the documentation period through the stage after installation period. This study used capital budgeting decision-making methodologies to assess Pakistan's present technological ambitions. Design/Methodology/Approach: In Pakistan, one of the top corporations did a postal survey and a cross-sectional data analysis. Although empirical data suggests a shift toward genuine conceptions and discounted cash flow (DCF) approaches, corporations still fall short of the fundamental needs. Most methodologies are used, including inner proportion of return, net present value (NPV) and payback method (PBM). Findings: The majority of corporations calculate risk adjusted cash flow, but only a small fraction of firms/businesses use the most modern risk assessment tools. Implications/Originality/Value: In comparison to other industrialized nations, the utilization of the discounted cash flow (DCF) ratio is still quite low

(b) Lack of training employed in inclusive or regular classrooms with differently-abled students; (c) Lack of examination to choose the most suitable aids which helpful for the teaching in the inclusive regular classroom. (d). Learning difficulty and psychological issues in the classroom. Implications/Originality/Value: From This research everyone will be benefited: students, as per their learning will be improved by it; educators as it will improve their teaching and efficiency in the classroom and parents, as their children will more likely to have a positive environment in the university. No full text
Purpose: Cognitive mapping of spaces is vital to the progress of well-organized orientation and mobility skills. Mostly the information required for cognitive mapping is acquired through the sense of vision. Persons with visual impairment lack in this critical information, and in consequence, they face difficulties in mapping as well as navigating new spaces. This study was aimed to investigate the cognitive mapping abilities of persons with visual impairment for the purpose of improvement in their independent movement. Design/Methodology/Approach: The population of this quantitative study comprised persons with visual impairment residing in district Lahore, Pakistan. The convenient sampling technique was used for taking the sample of 30 persons having visual impairment. A self-developed questionnaire (Cronbach Alpha: 0.78) consisting of 36 items on five-point Likert scale (strongly agree to strongly disagree) was used to gather data through online mode. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze data. Findings: The findings of the study revealed that the persons with visual impairment used language audition and haptics to get a direct or indirect awareness of their physical environment. The usage of assistive devices play an important role in their lives. Implications/Originality/Value: The study suggested the strong need to assess the cognitive mapping abilities of persons with visual impairment through an increased sample and experimentation to improve their quality of life by increasing mobility and independence
